  • Kyokushin Karate is considered dangerous due to its emphasis on full-contact sparring without extensive protective gear, rigorous physical conditioning, and the practicality of its techniques for self-defense. The high level of realism in training increases the risk of injury, including bruises, sprains, and fractures. Additionally,
    the demanding standards and testing requirements of Kyokushin contribute to intense training sessions, potentially heightening the risk of injury. While Kyokushin offers valuable benefits such as discipline and effective self-defense skills, practitioners should approach training with caution and proper supervision to minimize the risk of harm.

    Is impressive how kyokushin fighters can knowckout someone with a kick in the head even when fighting at a distance where it is only possible to exchange short punches

      Obviously Kyokushinkai Karate Do designed a set of rules to favour its practitioners against over styles. Shotokan Ryu had and still has some really tough and impressive fighters. In fact, Kyokushinkai Ryu certainly is the most overrated Karate style. This style doesn't teach you how to properly protect your head and core, it's just running to your opponent, punching and getting counter punched, the luckier is the winner, but even if you won this day doesn't mean you were a better fighter, you just had a better chance than the other guy, try this kind of strategy with a brutal hard hitting fighter and you'll end KO. Shotokan train you not only to hit hard, but to fight smarter and most important lesson, to end the fight with little or no injuries.

    I watched this hoping to see some knockouts from Fighting Black Kings. It's a documentary about the very first world open karate tournament held in Japan back in 1971-72 I believe. Every style in the world was invited, and guess what style took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. No style compares to Kyokushin, none. Osu!!

    Kyokushinkai doesn't train to properly protect the head nor the core, it's simply punching and get punched, the luckiest will win. A useful strategy for sport competition but a dramatic lack of skills for self defense. You'd better train Uechi Ryu Karate Do If you want to build an iron body with real efficient techniques.

      It is very far from the thruth. A kyokushinkai practicioner very easily move towards to boxing, kickboxing, thai-boxing, etc. If you don't see the defense it is because you are not trained in full contact gloveless fight, for example it is a very good defense against body hooks if you raise your hip in the same side just for a few centimeters, and your opponents hook or roundhouse kick will be highly ineffective (or even self dangerous) if it hit your hip bone but even when it miss it lands on a pre flexed muscle. It was just an example that maybe you miss from a chair watching the monitor. I would suggest to try yourself sparring against a kyo karateka in a dojo, maybe you learn same new tricks and a new point of view.

      @@johnny427 Je comprend ce que tu veux dire, mais honnètement, chaque fois que je vois une video de kyokushinkai, je vois deux types qui se tapent dessus jusqu'à ce que l'un d'eux s'effondre aprés avoir été frappé une fois de trop. L'impression qui ressort de tout cela est celle de voir des gros bourrins se livrant au même genre de combat rituel que des boucs qui se cognent la tête à la saison des amours. Bien sûr les tenants de cette école répondront qu'ils peuvent encaisser n'importe quel coup grâce à leur conditionnement corporel, mais en vérité, ce type d'entraînement est là comme assurance si vous ratez votre défense, pas pour ignorer les techniques de parade. Tu peux voir que la majorité des KO en compétition de Kyokushinkai vient d'une frappe à la tête qui n'a pas été esquivée ni n'a fait l'objet de la moindre tentative de blocage, ou d'une frappe au foie aprés que les mecs se soient pilonés comme des malades pendant cinq minutes sur le schema " à toi, à moi ". On ne peut pas baser sa stratégie uniquement sur le fait d'aller au contact et cogner sans soucis d'être touché en retour parce que si le mec en face a une lame dissimulée, avec ce genre de tactique, tu es mort ! J'ajouterai pour contrer une éventuelle objection " mais là on parle de combat à mains nues " que la stratégie du Kyokushinkai les rend trés vulnérable aux mises à terre, luxation, coups de tête etc... c'est pourquoi leur régles de compétition sont faites pour éviter de se retrouver dans un vrai scénario de combat total.

      In practice, kicks rarely land in kyokushin, unlike the edited video suggests, especially at the lower levels. Therefore kyokushin fighters receive little damage to the head, which is fantastic to avoid CTE and the like

    • @johnny427
      @johnny427 4 місяці тому +1

      Without gloves the head punch would be a massacre (the beginning it was allowed) and the injuries chased away the practicioners. Not just the head injuries but mostly the fist injuries, you maybe not aware but if you hit somebody to the head without gloves, you probably break your hand.

      It’s because they don’t want to look like boxers with their faces all messed up after the match is over.
