THE CUMBRIA WAY with a TARP | Wild Camping | The Lake District UK
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 сер 2021
- Battling through wind, rain and the unknown. I do my first solo through hike.. Wild camping the Cumbria Way, in the heart of the Lake District.
This was a last minute trip with next to no planning done. Only a big bag of muesli to keep me going!
Although there were some rocky moments I enjoyed every second of it and hope this video can convince you to go down and experience the magnificent views!

‘amn, blot- that was awesome! hope the stick stays with you through further adventures. she’s a good’n!
I fully enjoyed that
My first solo long hike! What an experience it was, I plan on doing a few more this year
Think you picked the worst week of the year. Respect.
I know! It started off so nice too! I guess it’s character building haha
Has that hut literally been built for adventures like yourself? that's crazy man, I would've loved to see the face of the next adventurer who was cold and wet walking in there and seeing those treats you left behind, Just brilliant!
Yeah! I was pretty high up too so it would have been a little risky setting up the tarp in them winds. It was a great little find!
Great adventure mate! Quite an endurance with your basics. A comfier sleeping mat is a must for me!
Well done and keep going with your channel.
Al
It was exactly what I needed just getting out there with only the essentials.
An air mat failed me once so I just use the ole faithful foam one haha.
Thanks for taking time to watch my video, much appreciated!
@@DazzyOutdoors just stick at the UA-cam game. It seems many struggle and lose interest. Getting the first 1000 subs seemed to take me ages but now I’m cookin’. Keep it up boyo I think you’ll do well!!!
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Aye I’ve seen that happen a lot actually. I’m very motivated right now but trying to have a chill approach to it all. So not to lose the enjoyment. Appreciate it mate!
Class video again! I'm surprised there was nee mention of your favourite subject though - bog roll.
Cheers mate! 😆 that topic deserves a stand alone video!
Good lad...spot on little adventure...respect...
Holds a special place in my heard this adventure haha. Cheers man
Well done Dazzy, good trail vid 👍 I did the Cumbria Way last year and my own videos
Great video man👍,we share the same weather, reminded me alot of North east Scotland.where im from and camp.your doing a grand job.
Constant rain? Haha. Thank you mate, really appreciated! Atb
Just watched this for second time.
Showing how it is done with a Tarp.
F.....g mint👍
Thanks Alan! Loved every second of it. Skye trail next I think but it'll be with a couple of friends. Thinking about doing it with the tarp too
@@DazzyOutdoors That would be fantastic.
It would put Tarp camping to real test tho,if Skye weather is normal.
Excellent vid. Doing the Cumbria way myself at end of month so was looking for vids on here. Glad I found yours
You’re going to love it mate! One of my fav trips I’ve ever done
Skyrim IRL, lol, love it
Haha could have done with a horse out of Skyrim too!
@@DazzyOutdoors IKR deffo Shadowmere and maybe a Lydia to help carry things too
@@somethinginnocuousindahouse 😆 Aye they bailed on me!
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Special place in my heart this one! Thanks for watching
Nice video Young man your attitude to wild camping is very good but if I could give you one tip from a camper for over 40years stop drinking straight from the sauce without filtering you're asking for trouble believe me you don't want delly belly when you are wild camping
Thank you. I have a video coming out soon where I actually find a dead sheep in the water so that’s made me think twice too. Cheers for watching
Just keep tapping triangle at an angle you will get over the mountain 🤣
😆 Top tip! Next big hike Ill test it out!
Just watched this, second vid since subscribing, I live 60 seconds away from the start of the Cumbria way in Ulverston, walked them first miles many time. 🙂
Ah that’s class. I was searching for a map in the shops down there and someone walking past stopped me and actually went back to his house to give me one. Very friendly place!
@@DazzyOutdoors
Yeah it's a great town to live in, everything is on our doorstep. Not a bad night out too. 👍
Great video, absolutely loved it. Thanks for sharing. A great adventure.
Subbed.
👍🍻
Thank you so much mate. There’s something special about going out and doing long hikes solo. Can’t wait for my next one!
@@DazzyOutdoors too right👍
Fab vid! What an adventure 🤩
Thanks Tash! I definitely recommend you give this walk a try!!
This is such a beautiful adventure When can i join?
@@arcascion8605 Loved it mate. Planning another one v soon! Get ya tent out and let gooooo! Haha
Nice video and love the landscapes of the Cumbria and a lovely place, just come across your channel, hope to see more soon. Atb John
Thanks John! I went back down to spend a couple more nights near derwent water last week without my camera. Unreal scenes
@@DazzyOutdoors your welcome always nice to go to a place you like, and spend some time by yourself, when was looking for youtube videos around Cumbria that's when i watched this and had to sub.
sweet Dazzy looks like you had a bit of the wet stuff like me great vid new sub from me atb daz
Haha I’d love to know if anyone has done that route rain free… I doubt it tho. I’ve seen you’ve done a video on that route on your channel, I’ll give it a watch.
Top name btw!
👏👏👏👏👌👍
Was you eating/drinking cold all the way? No stove? Hard-core lol..
I'm assuming the muesli was like your staple rations to get you from a to b.. ? I'm assuming powdered milk too? Well done..
I did have a wood stove but it never got used. I was on the muesli and pasty diet haha. No powdered milk either, although that would have been nice.
I did treat myself to a fish n chips on the last day though, that was amazing!
Great video fella must admit this is a walk I’d like to try do love the fact that you did other a tarp unlike most who use a tent etc awesome like I said I’ve subbed now hit the bell to. Hopefully u won’t mind he king out my channel. Now I’m off to watch another of ur videos
My first solo hike too. Loved it. I’d highly recommend this hike to anyone!
Thank you for the support, and yeah I’ll definitely check out your channel. Atb!
@@DazzyOutdoors cheers fella
Why do people go for the open tarp over a sealed tent? is it to do with versatility or something? It just seems a sealed tent would of benefited you greatly during your quest.
Tents are amazing! But I love being able to set up the tarp in different configurations and looking out at the stars
nice one mate, how much weight were you carrying?
About 8-9kg and that's including food and water for a day or two
