Just started learning to play guitar. And you my friend are what a music instructor is supposed to be like. Not saying that everyone else is not but they either rush thru or just take to big of leaps from hands on to the next measure to even tey to keep up. Great work sr, keep it going I'm listening and practicing.
Rob has to be the most considerate and intuitive thorough instructor around!! I've stated this before, but I cannot emphasize this enough!! Great job!! Jim C.
These kind of lessons are all that guitarists need Rob, I hope you get the comments, likes and gratification that you DESERVE for this, enough of these kind of vids should bring them in, they are GREAT Rob, thank you very much. I dare say its relaxing to listen too as well (lol)
Wow, what an awesome lesson! I start hearing the chords of so many funky songs, like from Gloria Gaynor, Chic, and more! Yo really helped me to uncover some myths!
You are definitely among the best instructors and your videos are a must see for does who wish to improve their guitar skills. Nice Telecaster. Keep rocking Rob / Swiftlessons rock. Always educational and inspirational
Just started watching your channel, great content... Thanks! I thought you had a weird accent, then realized you sound exactly like me, a fellow jerzadelphian 😄
Thanks very much for this/and other vids :) As an "old" man who did NOT learn things like this when I was younger, it's nice to have such clear instructions. Too TOO many youtube vids are mostly talk with no good visual. Sorry, I have to say it, they are "blah blah blah" (or they are such bad players it can be somewhat embarrassing lol. Again, thanks for this.
Hi, your lessons are super amazing and I always find easier learning with them. So, I'm sorry to ask, but could you teach Stop This World by Mose Allison on acoustic guitar?
You have anything here or on your Patreon with some basic major scale licks or melodies? I'm just now working on learning the major scale fluently across the fretboard, and would like something to incorporate to make it more interesting, and so I don't keep sounding like I'm just playing scales.
Wonderful to see theory combined with application. I have a question regarding the Fmaj7 chord… why can’t we play the open E string in the first shape but we can in the 2nd?
I am a beginner too and I was also confused because your title is wrong. I think this is the key of F using 7th chords , change the title before u confuse more people
These are the 4 note harmonies, of course each of these chords can be played as simple 3 note chords that we call triads. You can extend these chords even further, but we’ll save that for another day.
Oh yeah, I’ll be the first to echo this, songwriting and learning tunes is the best method of retaining this information. You need to keep revisiting these techniques until they are firmly imprinted in your brain and muscle memory.
Ok...totally lost me...are you suggesting that all chords in C scale are 7th's? yeah...don't think so brother.....I can buy that's all the 7th chords....
One correction, this concept is not specific to the key of C, but rather all major keys. Each interval of the major scale can be harmonized as a basic triad (three note chords): Maj Min Min Maj Maj Min Dim But, we can add a 4th note on top of each of these triads, making them various types of 7th chords, as demonstrated in this video. The type of 7th chord is determined by what notes are available to us in the parent scale, in this case C Major Scale.
Thank you hope this channel never goes away

Hey ROB
YOU 'VE GOT THE GIFT
Very Nice
thankyou👌
Greate lessos, could you please make a lessons on one key like C (all possible chords) Thanks

Wonderful to see theory combined with application. I have a question regarding the Fmaj7 chord… why can’t we play the open E string in the first shape but we can in the 2nd?
If you’re in the key of F you can play the high e with both shapes, though you already have a major 7 interval on the D string, so it’s not necessary.
The concluded song at the end of the video sounds a lot like the Allman Brothers Band!
Oh yeah, I was heavily influenced by Allman bros and Derek trucks when I wrote that.
Mint
any chance of putting tutorial up for l a woman by the doors
I'm a beginner. When I saw the title "All the Chords in the Key of C" I immediately thought: "Cmaj, Fmaj, Gmaj, Am, Dm, Em." Now I'm confused.
Hey Miranda, yes, you can play these chords as three note “triads,” but we can also expand the chords to four note harmonies for extra flavor.
I am a beginner too and I was also confused because your title is wrong. I think this is the key of F using 7th chords , change the title before u confuse more people
Cant be a Joysee boy with that accent. Or lack of🤪. Great lesson thanks.
❤❤❤
layman question. why when play in chords doesn't sounds like ordinary " do re mi.." used to heard?🤔
Why are major chords identify in 7ths. I thought they were major or minor I don’t understand why 7ths are included . I’m lost obviously .., 😊
These are the 4 note harmonies, of course each of these chords can be played as simple 3 note chords that we call triads. You can extend these chords even further, but we’ll save that for another day.
Dude! You are Ted Green without heroin
Only point i have is if you dont use these chords in songs youll forget them in a month
Oh yeah, I’ll be the first to echo this, songwriting and learning tunes is the best method of retaining this information. You need to keep revisiting these techniques until they are firmly imprinted in your brain and muscle memory.
These must be jazz chords because they are all 7th chords LOL.
Ok...totally lost me...are you suggesting that all chords in C scale are 7th's? yeah...don't think so brother.....I can buy that's all the 7th chords....
