I think you just have wet wood broseph, your coal bed gets set and then moisture from the fresh logs is fighting you when the inflow vent opens. You might need to look at splitting the logs and stacking them differently. ua-cam.com/video/dOxRboCXUYE/v-deo.html

This has worked out so well. I am amazingly happy how it turned out.
You need 125 to 135 going into slab turn boiler temp back up to 185 and your boiler will say lite hope this helps your boiler

Chance, you are the man. You are soooo right. A little prep would have gone a long way. Next year will have to be prepped better.
You only need 125 to 130 water temperature going into the slab
