The Fall of League's Two-Timing Superstar

  • Rekkles was once the face of Fnatic's League of Legends team.
    But commitment can be a challenge - and he chose to seek glory elsewhere.
    Then, after years of trying and failing to get to the next level with other teams, Rekkles came crawling back to the org that once made him a superstar - Fnatic - hoping to recapture some of the old magic.
    Except it was already too late.

    Hey everyone, we had a few errors in this video. G2 did lose to Rogue in the LEC Spring 2021- it just wasn't in the finals. They were also bested by Fnatic at the Summer split but the trophy ultimately went to MAD Lions. We sincerely apologize for the errors.

    • @TheMineA7
      @TheMineA7 Рік тому +38

      Not only that, the video just doesnt seem up to par of your usual standards.
      Completely forgot that G2 kept him contract locked with insane buyout price, no lec team could get him. They made it to world finals in 2018, in 2020 Rekkles and Hyli were insane, best bot lane from EU easiy. Getting solo kills, destroyed TES until reverse sweep. Calling Rekkles's time a failure was such a lie.
      Also you seriously calling him two timing? Thats disgusting. His contract was over, he saw G2 had better opportunities and took it. Its basic contract negotiations, no employee is entitled to stay with an employer forever. The general narrative and portrayal of the situation was frankly disgusting.
      Your content is usually much much better so this video was a shock as a fan that follows league thoroughly

      The way he's lost and how he's acted towards players and orgs is what makes your analysis flawed. I warned everyone before he joined G2 that he wouldn't stylistically fit. They're agro and calculated yolo. He's always been the play it safe, don't take a 50/50 or worse unless you absolutely have to.
      Jankos, Miky, Hyli, etc. have all gotten serious flack for his poor performance. Not just from fans either. Analysts, coaches, orgs have seemed to blame others too. That's an unnecessary mental toll, team friction, and drop in market value for them.
      You can see the same thing has happened over DL's career in NA.
      Both are highly skilled adcs who at one time were the best in their region no doubt. But because of that, their flaws often got overlooked, blame shifted to others around them, and in some cases teams warped or teammates' potential limited due to having to play around an adc that only knew their way of playing.
      Compare that to how some of his former teammates (Hyli, Jankos for example) have elevated the performance of those around them on multiple teams. And even when they could have rightfully criticized allies or orgs (like Jankos on H2K, Hyli on UOL who had to 1v2 bot lane and often did), they didn't. They never tore others down to look better.

      @@josephbirrenkott7993 I mean in spring Rekkles and Miky were insane together and Hily and Rekkles are just an iconic duo who have nothing but love for each other.
      Its just summer in G2 where they fell apart and this year where tbh FNC has just had very questionable rosters.
      But I mean Rekkles has always been a person who split the whole community into people hating every move he makes and people who will look the other way every time he makes a mistake.
      Truth is, he is still a great adc but where he was ahead of others couple of years ago, they've all catched up if not overtaken him these days.
      I think he still had more to offer as an adc in LEC and he prob couldve done a fine job with this roster as well in summer, but I can understand he's looking for a change after 10 years of playing adc.
      As a FNC fan im sad to not have him play in summer, but I mean noah is pretty cracked so not complaining to much 😂

He pissed off all the fnatic fans, went to a team that doesn't have respect for any of their players and at the time crycelote(Who never stopped acting like a 4 year old on crack) had a say in the org. No third chances I'm afraid should have been given, he should have gone to Hyli and that's that. He kinda does deserve a lot of it. Not the more extreme haters, but he definitely isn't the guy he was when he started playing.
      Laying blame or even just staying silent and letting others blame his teammates for his failures multiple times. Being inflexible in his style of play. Try being a toplaner and only knowing one playstyle. Even TheShy gets hate comparable to Rekkles as well as overly forgiving fanboys. And he has a worlds trophy to his name. Rekkles does not.
      And while for a time he did work to improve FNC before joining G2, he's shown a lot of streaks of abandoning teams/players rather than elevating them. Compare to how former teammates like Jankos or Hyli elevate those around them - still delivering stellar individual performances AND improving the gameplay of their teammates.

      @josephbirrenkott7993 11 місяців тому +1

      His playstyle has been outdated for years. He's calculated safe when what you need is calculated agro. Hence why he never meshed with the other 4 G2 members... or Hyli although the latter's ability to adapt and the trust/xp built up over seasons helped overcome some of it.
      He's basically old H2K formulaic. Which means at peak, you can make it to worlds and even past group stage. But you'll never win it all that way. You have to be able to take the 50/50's or even some 40/60's and trust in you and your allies skills to outplay. And then be good enough to actually do so vs other international teams. If you can't either because not enough skill or because of mentally refusing such risks, then you'll never be world champion.

    • @josephbirrenkott7993
      @josephbirrenkott7993 11 місяців тому +2

      Rekkles will always be that way. Because he plays super safe/reserved/defensive. Like sometimes even if it mean's you'll die for it, simply trading kills or delaying the enemy a bit more can mean the other team doesn't get a followup objective or end the game. Or not bailing early on a fight means you help an ally live longer, get 1 extra kill, and the enemy ends up with a 1 kill advantage instead of a 3 kill lead.
      But he's not flexible enough to play like that. Never has been. Simply not dying stupid deaths (for most part) isn't enough. Not that Bausffs isn't egotistical and bad sometimes, but his gameplay shows not all deaths are bad deaths. Sometimes dying in order to deliver a much larger contribution to the team is a better thing than preserving kda. You need to find the balance between the 2.

      @@luciofilipe Cool. You really think that means he knows everything? Because just last season when lee top was a thing, the best Korean pro didn't know lee q had an execute.
      And where are you getting off claiming I claim to know more? You're just putting words in people's mouths.
      But if I did want to ego, I could point out how I innovated several metas BEFORE the pros, the Koreans, or other high elo. And not just dumb luck trying random stuff. Or how I brought champs to new roles - such as nautilus and morg support - again for the right reasons - well before anyone else ever tried. Or found the first Azir meta build when most were still trying to find the optimal setup... when I don't even main mid.
      Or how Khan coppied my cho'gath rune deviation to great success in pro play. Or how I beat everyone to realizing sunderer wasn't some weird trash item. Or created an alternate renekton build specifically to deal with tryndamere which was then picked up by a challenger EU 1-trick.
      But I didn't go ego claiming to know more than Rekkles. But you see, rank or role isn't the sole determining factor as to being able to make valid commentary on someone's strengths and weaknesses.
      The fact I correctly called that Rekkles and G2 wouldn't work due to playstyle differences BEFORE they played a single match and while everyone told me I was crazy... and yet, I proved 100% correct speaks for itself.
