Never ever tighten an oil filter with an impact wrench!
Now that’s just being silly. Everyone knows you just hand tighten then two complete turns with a pipe wrench.
Why not?
@@Diseaseisreversible Becasue you will never get it off again, even with an impact wrench. The video shows the only engine in the world that has an oil filter that is accessible directly by a drill as well!
@@bodysuitguy I see, Ive only changed oil on one car, but I used one of those black rubber strap tighteners. I usually go get it changed at a shop. it's usually cheaper and faster
@@Diseaseisreversible These days I wear rubber gloves and tighten it by hand. The glove gives some grip and it can be snugged nicely. Never had a leak and always able to get it off the same way. Those bastards are always tough to get to though, guaranteed a nasty angle if you need the special tool! Keep wrenching brother.
I love seeing all the crazy gadgets.... I wish you had a link to all the tools
Love how the thumbnail was what I was fkn looking for....
Yep, the thumbnail turned into clickbait

There’s such a specific niche psychosis that grips whoever runs this channel so tightly that they will NEVER show the thumbnail in a video.
Thank you for posting this! Then I don't need to watch this sh*t video
That's cause it don't exist no tree man would use that death wedge there's a reason they use long hammers so they can run for it and don't have to move their massive balls out the way
I pity the poor guy who has to take that oil filter off after it’s been tightened with an impac
I was thinking the same thing. wincing.
Yep. A permanently attached oil filter.
As soon as I saw that I was like go to comments n see who else thought the same

NEVER TIGHTEN AN OIL FILTER WITH AN IMPACT!!!!!!
I like when he put the oil filter on with the impact.
Most of these tools are the "As Seen On TV" tools that my in-laws think would be a great birthday gift for me. No thanks. Also, using a power tool to tighten an oil filter, not a great idea.
I concur, with the exception of the vacuum and cup attachments for hammer drills. Those would work great for me, I have to hold a piece of paper in a grout line under my drill in schools to not leave a mess, and if you accidently crush the paper, the mess is worse. Those seem nifty, but could use a little bit of a redesign on the cup.
Why do in-laws always think we'll like something that we don't? It's so strange.
@@misterkelley9740 theres a good trick for drilling the wall. use those sticky papers, bend them and place them on the wall under the hole. they collect the dust pretty good and you can concentrate on drilling with two hands. they are easy to remove and leave no trace :)

Who knew that oil filters were such a menace that several tools were made to combat them.
yep old trick was to stab a screwdriver though it and then turn but it has risks. like one time I saw a guy cut the crap out of his hand on the sharp casing.
Maravilha 👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Where's the tree tool from the teaser image? Clickbait nonsense.
You are not supposed to tighten oil filters with impact drivers.
I guess I'm used to it because of my line of work. But what's so unusual about a MAG drill? We use them almost every day.
I used to hire them out in the 70s, and most of these tools, nothing new.
Same with the oil filter tool... I've had one for decades.

Think the demo with the rounded nut extractor showed how extracted nut will get lodged in the extractor and require another extractor to remove from the extractor.
That's ok. You simply need to buy the nut extractor extraction tool. And then you need the nut extractor nut extractor extraction tool to get it out of that one.

0:38 That isn't needed if you actually follow the filter instructions and not crank it on as hard as possible. Most are only supposed to be turned like 3/4 of a turn. I've never had one that I can't remove bare handed. Don't be an idiot.
Right, but unfortunately there are a lot of idiots out there who don't know that, and if you change a lot of oil at some point you will come across many filters that have been tightened with a wrench. Most people don't know you're supposed to oil the gasket too. I used to work in a shop and we had every kind of tool possible to remove stuck filters. I've had to go as far as jamming a long screwdriver through a filter and back it off with a breaker bar at the end of the driver. It loosened just before the casing ripped to shreds and I got it out. People are stupid.
They say hand tighten, but as an ironworker I always wonder, my hands or the average joe's hands?
@@clydefrog4959 Well correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure 3/4 of a turn is the same for an ironworker as it is for the rest of the world is it not? Use a light touch until you feel the gasket hit and then 3/4 of a turn. Done. Don't over complicate it.
@@CajunRulez Agreed, people are retards.
@@markjones2349 yea I'd say so, smart ass. Never heard the 3/4 turn thing. Just to hand tighten it

THANK YOU for expertly showing the operations & uses of these products ! By doing so, it demonstrates the full intentions of the designers and what they intended the item to do.
Most of these tools have been around a long time, but they work very well, still ! (the needle gun was actually designed as a scaler to use after welding, to mimick sand blasting the surface before industrial painting. It also removes rust and paint. Most are pneumatic. There are actually alot of these I would love to have. Surprisingly. I usually don't like the tools on these videos
thats some real dope ass shit right there. respect to the inventors
If you take an impact gun to an oil filter you're a freaking menace.
the tools at 6:50 is actually a plug cutting bit, so you can make plugs out of the scrap material you are using, for decks, woodworking so that they blend in, and almost disappear. And can be found at stores like Harbor Freight for 10 bucks for a set of 3 sizes
For the love of God stop using power tools to tighten oil filters! When you lubricate the o-ring and tighten by hand that shit will seal until the end of time. 1800lbs of impacts are overkill.
this guy is a genius. you get a raise.
Hey, not only do I agree with using an impact driver to tighten up a oil filter, I say lubricate it with JB Weld too. Then wrap your entire engine block in 2 inches deep worth of duct tape… no need to thank me for the pro tip. I’m more than glad to share my wisdom.

The first device used to tie together rebar took more work than the old pigtail handles I used in 1966, but the pigtail required specialty wires with looped ends. The second tie device was cool, but looked pretty heavy (and required electricity) for the repetitive work of tying rebar. I think the old pigtail handle stands up well compared to either of those "improved" tools.
The old swivel tool? Sometimes older is just best
Thank you
the magnet drill brings back some old memories XD
Yes, but he forgot the safety chain. That way if you trip the breaker or lose power the drill does not fall to the ground.
After that filter heats up a couple times, it’ll be ripped in half before it comes back off.
