1+2 was great. I’d love 3+4 and at first I was upset when there wasn’t any word of it happening but I’m just glad we got 1+2 which restored the legacy.
Activision-Blizzard with all its mergers, becoming such a behemoth, only to be swallowed up by Microsoft, is so bizarre to think about. And games like this got caught in the crossfire! Awesome video!! Very understandable and entertaining for an outsider to the genre :)
Really great video. I can remember all of the years growing up with these games, and my time with them is split into two. The time after* playing online and getting better, and the time before online and just enjoying my time. I am very nostalgic of both, but sometimes miss the days of just playing offline as a kid with friends. I still play them today but wish the legacy kept going with them.
Tony did say something is coming with Activision, so we have that concrete info at least.. If anything with 1+2, I just wish they updated online, especially with score and combo challenges. The limit being 200,000 points is so easy for THPS vets, I've won games in literally 10 - 15 seconds, the score should be 2 or 3 million, but I get having a lower score for the new players. It's a fun game, but sad it's pretty dead now on Playstation. Beaten the career mode twice over, one of the best remakes I have ever played. I really hope we get 3+4 or a THUG equivalent new game.
It's insane to me that's it's been nearly five years since that game. What's even more insane is we haven't gotten a new game are DLC levels for this remake.
as someone who started playing the remake early 2024 this was a great informative video on everything i missed out on 33:37 also pseudoregalia ost used!
I've always had hope they were gonna do 3+4, I still think they will, and my hope was sparked in 1+2 being featured in the Activision acquisition trailer when that went through.
I grew up in such a great time I started skating in 2002/2003 when I was 7/8. My brother and I played LOTS of THPS on the N64 and PS2. I’ll ALWAYS be a THUG1 fan boy.
This game was great. But there was a single feature that was left out and I used tf out of it. Auto Kick off was the only way I would play. It made you push the flip button to kick off and move forward. It allowed me to micro adjust my speed to not overshoot gaps and combos. It also had a glitch where you didn’t lose speed in manuals and minimized the speed lost in grinds. It was almost like a different version of the game that wasn’t available with the remaster
Even though I never got to really play the Tony hawk pro skater games. Its always fun to learn new things about them. Like the build a park feature. (And that lava pit cut off killed me XD)
All hope might not be lost for the future of thps: “I poured myself into every aspect of this project because I believed we were creating something exceptional, and I am immensely proud of the series that followed… and their soundtracks,” he continued. “Thanks to Activision, Neversoft and all of you that played THPS in those formative years. I’m not supposed to tease anything else about the future of the series; but there will be a future.” - the birdman
whatever happens...To me, I just feel like 1+2 is a rare situation where a franchise came back from the dead to end on a high note.🥲 And I'd rather that the series 'officially' ends with 1+2 rather than the bad taste that THPS5 left.🖤
im mad i wasn't in the tony hawk generation i managed to play skate 3 which is what really got me into skateboarding games and skateboarding in general :/
I really, really wish I hadn't slept on this until recently. I missed out on the multiplayer being alive. While I have had an absolute blast working my way to platinum, it would have been lovely to experience the pvp again after so many years (not to mention only being able to get 830/866 challenges, or whatever it is, hurts my soul) edit: multiplayer is back up! I'm desperately trying to get the locked decks before it goes away again 😂
I played the THPS2 campaign before the THPS1 campaign. THPS2's difficulty is about the same as the game before it, while THPS1 has more goals per level, despite having five goals each in prior games. A deal breaker is not having a split screen mode for 3 or 4 players. The series can benefit from having such modes.
I liked 1+2 but think they are kinnda overrated and just above bare minimum for a good remaster, my main complain is that the levels feel empty, kindda spooky even, not much is happening to elevate the atphosmere
The peak was thps to thug. I remember being so disappointed with thug 2. The career mode was a flop, the missions were easy, none were memorable, lack of levels, the vehicles were annoying… the saving graces of this game was the gameplay was still amazing and the classic mode was the best of the entire series.
Depends where you look I guess.. I got THUG2, THPS3 and THPS2X on OG Xbox for $18 a piece. And they were the cheapest I could find in Australia on Ebay at the time. That's cheap for me, but I've seen PS2 copies go for like $3 so.. I guess for me Xbox games are generally more expensive than PS2
Citations on the video is crazy. I’ve never seen anyone else with the awareness to do something so simple but so useful. Great work.
agreed. great quality.
glad you think it was worth the effort!

I hope someday this game gets the "Deluxe" treatment adding the 2X content like the five Xbox levels and the splitscreen mode for 3 or 4 players.

Great summary, I really liked it. I hope Tony will cook something for us. and thank you for playing my olympia skatepark 25:54👍
sick one ☝️

Because of Tony Hawk 1 I got into skateboarding and still doing till this day. It was an awesome game to play on a rainy day if I couldn’t skate

That guy at 5:45 kinda looks like Tony Hawk, I wonder what he's up to these days
Poor Anthony Hawk, always getting recognized as the guy who looks like Tomy Hawk.
He really does! I wonder what's this guy's name?

Using the Bank Muzak track at the end is a nice touch
ROBO THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!
dude i'm hoping they will make a underground 1+2 remake
Great video man

wraaaagh i wanna get dis game now, gr8 video!!

I'm still upset that Activision forced VV to blend with Blizzard
Microsoft can bring them back. Tony said something is in the works so we shall see.
man I am so bummed about VV being disbanded by this shitty company just to help push this stupid live-service game to release...
i expect a remake of thug soon :)
also subbed
I love 1+2 so much. I have over 120 hours and I’m nowhere near done with it 🤘
I'd love a 3+4 Remake but I hope they rework 4 to make it a goal system like the first 3.
I dont think you could ever capture the magic of the first two games.
Neversoft series was the best and still the best, THUG 2 and THAW in my heart!
Great time
Best Tony Hawk Graphics.
But reTHAWed has the best Tony Hawk Gameplay (by far).
Why don't vicarious vision remake? Tony hawk pro skater five I bet they would do an incredible job
You can polish a turd but it’s still a turd.
So Jen O. was speaking BULLSHIT saying she cares about the series.
Please go over the nerdy stuff.
Didn't activision already say no so they can spend more time on call of duty .
The Tony Hawk reboot, 1 + 2, is a great game. The only thing I do not like about it is that they made it more difficult.
totally, and maybe added a classic graphics mode-where I could play it in an old polygonal style.
I played the THPS2 campaign before the THPS1 campaign. THPS2's difficulty is about the same as the game before it, while THPS1 has more goals per level, despite having five goals each in prior games.

" hard to find for cheap " bro.... What planet do you live on where tony hawk games are not cheap. Lol!
