As a fan of Bon Jovi since the 80s, it’s sad to see Richie like this. His drinking issues are clearly still evident in this interview and just the way he talks shows that. Even physically he looks so frail. Probably one of the worst interviews I’ve seen. You wouldn’t hear him talk about masturbating with his daughter (Howies) next to him and has no clue when he’s looking all around. I hope he seriously gets better help then whatever he’s doing now especially for his kids. One thing seems certain to me & that is we won't see Richie back until Jon makes the decision to go with a different producer. What's there at the moment is a producer who wants to be a rock star. Richie is a broken man, a troubled soul. Possibly still on the booze, or perhaps benzos. Clearly never managed to come to terms with the fact he was second fiddle for the majority of his life. He was a phenomenal guitarist for around ten years but from the late 90s he took a nose-dive. Can barely play the guitar these days. A really sad story.
It's only sailed because its missing the key elements. Often singers think they can do it all on their own. But let's face it. How many of them have been hugely successful apart from the Band. And Richie is more than a guitar player. He's also a good songwriter and the perfect complimentary background vocals to Jon Bon Jovi. I really wanted to like the Proof of Life song....like a modern day upbeat version of Living on Prayer. But imagine how much better it would have been with Richie and if it actually had a melodic guitar Solo...that it is missing. The song is lacking that part. I still believe...yes you try new things. What would those two albums sound like today if we wrote them again today or added 10 new songs to them. It was fun, people couldn't stop listening. They still get more playing time on the radio than any of the new or newer stuff. So it's time to take a page from the past and "Who Says You Can't Go Home" to the music that put you on the map as the Kings of Rock. Your just older. But the guitar still plays and drums still work and its time to finish what you started.
I for one hope that Richie doesn't come back. He looks terrible here and hardly makes any sense. Both Bon Jovi and Sambora aren't releasing anything that would make the other sound any better, so just stick with what you have. Phil X stepped in and has done a great job keeping the last few tours going. At this point, it is time to give touring a rest.
I invite anyone reading to google The Circle Tour and Lost Highway Tour. Those were the last ones in which Richie participated. Not only they didn’t last 18 months but also they didn’t play 52 countries (who does that????). That statistic is overall, Bon Jovi played 52 countries over their entire career, not in a single tour. Richie keeps drifting away. Compulsive liar or memory issues due to heavy drinking? Who knows! Thing is his “spirit” forced him to abandon BJ back in 2013, and that ship has sailed. Jon’s voice is severely strained, and he’s unable to sing even simple songs. The surgery didn’t significantly improve his condition. He mentioned that if a tour were to happen, Richie could sing a song or two, but there’s no chance of him rejoining the band. However, the tour isn’t going to happen, so there’s no reason to discuss it further.
Give it a rest...These days the stars seem out of reach, no? The band had brilliant run...I.M.H.O. You do understand he’s still behind the scenes training his voice to be stronger after the vocal cord surgery when his vocal cords atrophied and he’s getting better not everyone can sing as good as they did in their prime so you bashing him proves you’re not a fan just a critic who probably has no experience in music or touring or having a band for 40 years and then some you think it’s easy to say to Bon Jovi hang it up and retire he’s not gonna do that he’s gonna try his best if he goes on tour again I’ll see him perform because I’m a fan not just be behind the screen saying he’s horrible because as a fan that’s rude

He still can...
@ no offense, I hate to see people, struggle, but did you not see any of the videos from the last tour? My God, he was struggling, it was kind of heartbreaking, I play also, still in two bands at 65, he should just retire. I know how bad you want to get out there, but that was rough.
@@LeslieChen83 no he cant., and he knows it. Which is why they didnt tour for the new album
@@shanemcconnell1736 he struggled but he can still sing...
@@shanemcconnell1736dude did you even watch the documentary where he explained he was dealing with his vocal cords atrophied and he had to get surgery done and he’s getting better but he still has a way to go I feel with enough support and prayers and Jon does his part with retraining his vocal cords I’m sure he will tour when he’s ready and confident for one more tour always keep the faith and not bash him and if you can’t then in Bon Jovi fashion have a nice day 🖕🏾
Won't happen, Jon can't sing and he's clearly not on the same planet anymore
too late for that, shoulda done the documentary
he was in the doco, he talks too much trash about the band and jon though for him to ever be welcomed back. He keeps saying he will come back but never does.
@@MystifyMe97 Jon is the one with a big mouth trashtalking Richie in every TV sofa he sat at after the documentary. Richie has not trashtalking neither Bon Jovi or Jon. If they are on good terms now, wich actually Jon also says, lets be happy for them. It´s a good thing.
You say that like you watched the doc but obviously you didn't.
@@pompa04 because he's in denial
@@Ms.LadyJacques97 When you bullshiting Richie you´re looking for war. Get your fact straight befor saying things out load.
I thought Richie was back in months ago? What happened?
@@chrissullivan40 he never was, not even close. He lied in a bunch of interviews to gain some media attention.
He is drunk
Somebody needs to tell Richie that bangs on a 65 year old man is not a good look. 😂
love ritchie but you cant go sleevless lol
NOTHING WRONG WITH HIM GOING SLEEVE LESS I LOVE RICHIE VERY MUCH I DO NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH YOU LIKING ME PLEASE RICHIE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH PLEASE SAY DO YOU LIKE ME RICHIE I LOVE YOU RICHIE ❤❤🥰🥰🥰😭😭😭😘😘😘
Richie has aged mentally.
What?
He looks toasted!!!
He does not look well
he wont be coming back...msybe for a tour or show but never as a member.
He still on the sauce ??😢
Looks like it. Sad to see him like this, hope he never returns to the band
He looks toasted!!
Boring
I know that Richie is from the classic lineup..but Phil X is twice the player than Richie is.
That’s not really the point
U wish
Hell no, Phil ain’t.
Best joke of 2024 so far
Don't be a goon watch live in London 1995 always solo
Retire and do us all a favor
Give it a rest...These days the stars seem out of reach, no? The band had brilliant run...I.M.H.O. The Soul Kitchen is a better endeavor for Jon today with the mess the country is dealing with and the Ol' voice is toast...I watched the latest documentary and Mr. Sambora came off as an Individual not grateful for his success but bitter...Boa Sorte...😉👌
