Dear New Zealand Whalers of about 1860, this is a message from the future, from the year 2021. There is a women in a kitchen on the other side of the globe, chopping tomatoes and cooking, who has been singing along to your song for almost an hour now. *_It makes you canna smack a table and sing along!_*
Stomp stomp clap works for this one, too
Especially because of the random, individual contributions of talent, this is the best thing I’ve ever heard!
The harmony of these singers is so perfect its hard to imagine. It makes me cry. Obviously the subject matter is not overly emotive, but the harmony of the singers is just so on point that it activates something primal in me. I cant explain it.
Hitting repeat every 3 hours is better then ever 2 mins. Good on you sir.
Unhealthy amounts of enjoyment of this song. Seriously, it's keeping me up every night so far this past week. It will bring me out of a coma. Don't stop. ♡♡♡
This is the dopamine fix we all need.
Just finished correcting semester 1 final exams and got through the drudgery thanks to the three hours of this killer mashup! Thank you for your creativity!
So I listened to this for 3 hours and didnt even feel tired of listening to it. What a masterpiece!
It has truely been one of my lifes great privileges to see this song take off and all the spin-offs through TikTok.
whoever created this....................THANK YOU. ive literally been vibing to it for about half the video now
This is EXACTLYYYY what my soul needed!!!! Now if I could just find a group to ACTUALLY sing with...!!! Much thanks for creating on loop!!!
As Meghan Trainor said, "It's all about the bass"
The first bass voice is so smooth I swear it's capable of buttering bread.
Luke_the_voice he’s amazing!
I could listen to this for a day straight and never get bored of it
Where is the vibing cat? I need the vibing cat!
Loved the history lesson but the cat is needed
+1 i have a fever and what i need is MORE VIBING CAT
The cat is on the Argus mix.
Look for ..The Kiffness..
He's South African and its his cat
This is true it dose say MASH UP soooooo some vibing cat would be nice =)
Can someone add bagpipes!!?😂😂😂🤣🤣
Oh no! ‘It’s an ill wind that blows the bagpipes!’
I haven't found bagpipes yet but this band has some kickin' fiddlin' :) ua-cam.com/video/Nmp7kJY8bqI/v-deo.html
How about a couple of accordions, guitars, and a banjo? ua-cam.com/video/8MGR4cuDx9Q/v-deo.html
On it...
@@germanbini will try the accordion soon :)
I would like to say thank you for this and for the lack of the fade out/in during the loop.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's addicted to this song😭😭😭😭😭. I may be late but im ready to set sail🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽. The tik tok mashups are everything 🖤❤🖤🔥🔥🔥🔥. Yalll are amazing
As a former sailor (U.S. Navy) and historical novelist, I love your remix... I ran across your work while reviewing vintage (17th - 19th century) 'land-based' and at-sea whaling operations for my next novel. Frankly, I'm sort of 'old school' and don't use social media, but I happen to think that you're on to something positive and culturally significant by your reviving old sea shanties! Kudos! And, keep on doing whatcha doing! :) W.D.S.
If only we could get this properly on spotfy xD
Actually, you can. I did it. If you want i can tell you how
@@margidjangarova211 Yes please.
@@ginibrenner3503 One way is to convert the song to mp3 and save it on your pc or phone. You can then import local files into your spotify library. Then you'll basically have it on spotify and can add it to playlists etc
@@andrewcharlton4053 Yes, thats what the video i sent before is about
I also reccomend grabbing the Longest Johns version thats on spotify!
They are a shanty band, and this is one of their best renditions
So I’ve had this 3 hour on whilst driving around in my lorry it’s an epic driving song,I think BBC radio 1 are trying to produce this into an official song
To solve all the arguments, this song should be the new President of the United States
Instead of state representatives, these people can replace them and have singing battles to decide what we should do
This!
We’d all be much better off in my opinion.
@@existenceispain_geekthesiren And likely they'd finally be pulling all at the correct time.
For the good of the nation!
So, new president will be the best shantyman?
Alas, for you US-Americans, @NathanEvanss is Scotman.
Haha I love it
Also,I appreciate so much that you included background information about the terminology for this song,it makes me even happier when listening to this, knowing I can understand it.
I live at Wellers rock in New Zealand named after the Weller brothers shippers and Whalers.
Wow, lots of amazing history there I bet!
Yeah who knew right started here in NZ. Another hit for us here in the promised land
I love this! I never expected I would need to make myself a playlist of best sea chanties but apparently I do now. I love the repetition here because i like to do yoga to songs that I like to play over and over and now I don't have to stop a pose to hit play again. Poor unappreciated baritone!
“a three hour tour”, huh?
Nice reference, little buddy!
worked super hard on that reference thanks
Never mind me, clueless as usual.

I feel 3 hour is perfect - tired of constantly replaying this :D
- brilliant job guys!
This is so wholesome, Imagine the whole world singing in their accent ,a beautiful result come out just like this one!
Man after listening to this I got really sad cos only if the people that made this could hear this and show how far ahead we've come because of their sacrifices and hard work I mean we are what we are because of our ancestors that's why I'd love to show them how they helped us create such a beautiful world
The one thing that united all types of communities. The one good thing that came out of TikTok. The one thing that will bring me through 2021. Thank you all.
Something deep in my soul rejoiced on 'rehearing' this, as though my Spirit 'remembered' singing it for hours when at sea with my chums for months. (I don't usually use the word 'chums' but it seems 'familiar'.)
David Gra'am me old chum! Ye salty sea scrubber!! Dontcha member we was swopping down the decks lo the horn and true the northern gales in our past lifes! Ayy be draggin them ores we be takin that whale in tow! Yaaarrr heyy and up she rises, there she blows, me scurvy lads
@@adriaanadriaan finally, after decades of strange nightmares when I'm sick with a fever - seeing a three sailing vessel becalmed - and I'm wondering around the ship but can't find anyone - but once the fever breaks I can't remember much of the nightmares/visions. Even today, when listening/feeling the voices flow through my body, remembering so much. Men depending on each other for their safety, ensuring everyone knows exactly what to do in every circumstance - high gales, when we had a whale on and it was trying to capsize us. The men who lost fingers, or limbs, when caught in the rigging - and the men who drowned - good friends - closer than family. Davy Jones's locker is full of my chums. I've avoided looking for decades - now I feel okay about it.
Being clairvoyant can be horrific at times. This has opened a big wealth of love, something I doubted I would ever feel, having pushed people away for decades, (lest they die because of my inaction/stupidity/error). I don't expect people to understand this. I don't care. I've linked to something deep within me - my chums who seemed to be waiting for me to stand up and see the horizon and accept it as it is. LIFE.
@@davidgraham-parker I don't know how but I feel I know what you mean. The one and only time I was on the ocean, I was in 4th grade. I was with the Kawana's (spelling?)on a fishing trip. I had never been on a ship before. I was told I took to it like I was born to it. I felt like I was home. The wind, the salt spray, the sun. Even the constantly moving deck felt natural. I fished and ran allover the ship. I will never forget. I dreamed of fishing for years after.
@@angelataylor5241 thank you for sharing that wonderful memory. What I didn't disclose was upon hearing this for the first time, I cried, no, sobbed heavily, for almost half an hour - a feeling of loss, love, loneliness and joy all wrapped into one flood of emotion. Never experienced that sort of tsunami of emotion/memory before, but I don't discount it as being a Soul memory.
@@davidgraham-parker my understanding is that is exactly what you went through. You sound like someone who has had( at least) one past life. The emotions often come first for me. Completely out of the blue! Nothing in my life would mach up. Then the dreams would come, and after some odd memories and knowledge of things I shouldn't know. Things I never learned in this life. So, yah, I know what you mean. I know things about the future some times, sometimes I hear thoughts, other times I can feel other people's feelings/moods. It can be confusing at times.
Harpooned! I can't escape from this song!
Thank you @nathanevans for this gift ..... can not stop playing it
Ugh it gives me goosebumps all over the whole time. Never felt a song was so needed. Love it 🥰
Dang I clicked on this video thinking "one more, it's only 3 minutes long."

Oh thank god. I've been listening to the original hour loop but desperately needed that extra base (no jokes). Thanks!
The extra "HO" really sends it over :')
Love this, amazing singers and musicians.
Oh my gosh. I’m so hooked. I spend nearly my whole evening with listening to this song.
The young lady on the violin is amazing!
I enjoy that your loop feels seamless, you also keep the original vids and give History lessons while it plays great job!
This song makes me and my sister want to join a shanty choir xD
no one:

LOL same except... maths. It's so much easier with this song!!!!
Me yesterday😂👌
Science today tho
