I'm so glad the east side is closed to vehicle traffic. Two weekends a year, the west side is also closed to all traffic. I remember thinking, "A 30-mile ride will be an easy two-hour trip." There are lots of hills, and there are lots of stops to take in the view! Keep the video coming.
It's hard to beat such gorgeous views! The Crater Lake water was so blue. Thank you for taking us all along on this tremendous adventure. Keep on Triking!
HAHAHA! The last time I visited Crater Lake, I got into the park for free because there was so much snow the ranger couldn't dig out the entrance hut to take my money. Driving on the roads was like driving in a trench with 15 foot snow walls on either side. I'm really going to have to try and visit for a trike ride some time! Thanks for sharing your ride!
I thought about going this year, but chickened out with the cold and elevation and potential smoke. I’ll be more determined for next year unless it rains. I’ve been doing lots of upgrades to my trike including a much quieter motor that is more efficient. I will look for some trails in the area, like Row River for the week between the Retreat and the Crater Lake ride, so I will be nearby for the day
This was just a wonderful ride Sylvia so glad to see you out in the chilly weather, I’m just such a winey baby when it comes to riding in fall and winter 🥶 it’s like I go into hibernation when it gets cold like a big bear lol then pop out in the spring when it starts to warm up, I still have to put the footage together from the 3rd day of the Northwest Arkansas group rides, I haven’t ridden since then I feel so ashamed lol it’s just been so chilly in the morning but anyway loved this ride and can’t wait to see where you end up next! ❤

Yeah, it's a bit of a trek, and the weather can change rapidly. I sure hope you can go next year.
