I saw the live streaming of Pakistan Coke Studio yesterday but couldn’t enjoy for long because of the poor streaming audio quality. On 9th june we also have a similar kind of concert featuring the world cup trophy and will surely attract huge crowd ( around 20k+ audience at least) There is a popular saying in Bangladesh that we might be married to cricket right now but Football was and always is our first love. The craziness for football during WC is insane here. Even argentine media featured the craziness of argentine fans of BD a few days back.
people are crazy over football here in Bangladesh. Specially during the worldcup, the whole country goes crazy over the Brazil-Argentina rivalry. Though the national football team have not been successful enough to place a landmark internationally, there are some upcoming young talents.
The drums starting at 3:21 are Bengali signature 'dhaak', big dhols which are essential at any Bengali festival. It is said that 'bangalir khela football '- Bengalis are the most passionate about football on both sides of the border.
This video was shot in Chittagong, the port city of Bangladesh. Both Pantho Kanai and Mithun Chakra are from there, so it's understandable that they are more elated in this video.
You guys are fantastic and we love to share our thoughts with you. True Lovers love to talk about lovely things with lovely people and dig it more and more so you are not boring at all but also very precious to some precious people. Yes This song is planned on an universal aspect and incredibly done. And about sports we love to play football and cricket very much. We enjoy our cricket team more than our football team. But world cup football makes us crazy.
I don't know if you guys know her, but the girl in 2:30 is Mila Islam - literally a legend of Bangla Pop. She is arguably THE BEST FEMALE POPSTAR of Bangladesh since the independence of Bangladesh. She dominated the whole 2000's and early 2010's but got lost from the limelight bcoz of personal issues (domestic violence from spouse and all). She is now trying to rebuild her brand image by appearing in front of camera once again. She is still the icon of Bangladeshi female pop singers You should check out her songs. My early recommendation would be these songs Baburam Shapure ua-cam.com/video/-aZZTRCu74o/v-deo.html Nacho ua-cam.com/video/oBKAxtB74J4/v-deo.html Ishhor jane ua-cam.com/video/kiwFAybCrds/v-deo.html Pora Bashi ua-cam.com/video/spIiQqeUXT4/v-deo.html Srabon ua-cam.com/video/GIDD7O3386U/v-deo.html Her wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mila_Islam
It's better if our countrymen could stop labelling everyone a living legend over social media, have seen this trend lately. She literally has only two albums and a couple remix songs in her career. Although I agree Mila is a true performer.
Rahin Has written the notes for himself in the vober pagol song, actually, he is responsible for the horn section, so all the horn sounds you hear in every coke studio bangla song, he wrote all the notes for tenor, alto sax, and for the trumpet.
Football related facebook groups are the most active forums in bd as per as i noticed in BD as a Bangladeshi here. In world cup times bangladesh is literally splitted in two parts by Brazil and Argentina fans. Almost every house has a flag of Brazil/Argentina on top of them. Sometimes I think football is more popular than cricket in BD
You guys are one of the best out there. So supportive and the ones who appreciates good work and music. Take lots of love from Bangladesh ❤️ and we don't get bored tbh. We all love you ☺️
Did you notice the giant statue of a guitar in the middle of the video (at 2:23)? That has been built in memory of the legendary guitar and rock icon Ayub Bachchu who died in 2018 at the age of 56. And you will miss a huge part of Bangla rock if you don’t listen to his songs. He was the founder of LRB which has been disbanded after his premature death.
I don't know why nobody pointing out "Mila" . She is one of the best female pop singer of Bangladesh recent past. Bro you can checkout her work olso. 1. Tumi ki sara Debe 2. Nacho 3. Sukhnu pata 4. Bapuram sapure 5. Disco bandor
MILA ISLAM - UA-cam Please listen her. She is one of the top female vocal in Bangladesh from last 2 decade. For some personal issue she was absent from the music for few years. But she is trying to coming back on the floor again.
After waiting for long hours finally got to see your reaction. You know this song is protrate the real people of Bangladesh. We love festival. We can enjoy anytime whether it's religious purpose or sports. And people of Bangladesh are crazy about football. Anyway we enjoyed your reaction too. See we can be happy with anything good . Thanks again. Love from Bangladesh ❤️❤️
you guys are right about everything except the fact that your reviews will ruin audiences experience of listening the song . your reviews make the coke studio (or any other songs) more enjoyable. as for which sport is more popular in BD, it has to be football.
At 2:22 see the guitar 🎸 it's made as a memorable for our legendary rock singer Ayub Bacchu (he passed away on 2018). If possible check out some of his songs. I know you would love them. Though u won't get subtitles but it seems u guys will understand as u guys are getting pretty good in understanding Bangla language.. 😎 I love ur reactions and insight of the songs. Keep up the good work. Keep enjoying Bangla songs. Explore more Bangla band songs, there are tons of them. ✌️
Football is a big deal in Bangladesh. It gets to another level during the FIFA World Cups, a lot more than Cricket World Cup. It's madness. People fight for their teams, every home has a flag on the rooftop. Die Hard Support. Even without World Cup, football has a massive following. Cricket is comparatively new thing to us, we gained the Test status only in 2000. But still cricket has become the most popular sports but people plays football everywhere in Bangladesh, follow it and some people live and breathe football. Here is an old song "সব খেলার প্রিয় বাঙালির তুমি ফুটবল" (Shob Khelar Shera Bangalir Tumi Football) which means "Of All the Sports, Football is the most favourite/greatest to Bengalis", this was sung by Legendary Indian Bengali singer Manna Dey, even though it's in Indian Bengali context, it's completely true for all Bengalis regardless of Nationalities, be it Bangladeshi Bengali or Indian: ua-cam.com/video/fQn_o5u5E4A/v-deo.html
I would say football is more popular than cricket, though people might not agree with me. During the year, mostly Urban people spend a lot of time discussing and watching European football, and for some people, it's life and death. However, when world cup, euro or copa america goes on, even the rural people get crazy, and I think that becomes the biggest festival of Bangladesh, even surpasses cricket. The whole Bangladesh is divided, mostly in supporting two nations- Brazil and Argentina. And even violence is not rare, which is unfortunate, and crazy at the same time. I remember in last copa america, in a place called BrahmanBaria, two villages fought each other for a whole day over Argentina and Brazil, before the authority intervenes, and imposes 144. This craziness is never seen for cricket.
football is more popular than cricket in Bangladesh ..... cricket became popular after 90s . but still football is on the first position. if u visit any local Field in Bangladesh. you would see boys are playing football not cricket.
Thanks to Abhijeet Sourav for sharing the details about the trophy reveal event and the background of this song!
You are welcome. I'm glad that, I have been able to help you. Keep going.🌻
