Sunjoy, Babna, Russell Ali, Kamal, Tipu are the founding band members of Warfaze we know of. First generation of Warfaze fans are obsessed with these guys. Attending their live shows were quite an experience. Sunjoy was a superior and authoritative frontman on stage. Sunjoy, an extremely high pitched vocal with ability to sing in rustic lower notes, set the template of other Warfaze vocals. He is now a banker. Russell Ali is now a music producer in LA. Worked with a few famous American musicians, played guitar with Limp Bizkit for short period of time. Originally Warfaze, Rockstrata (another legendary band), In Dhaka (one hit wonder) and Aces (BassBaba’s band) wanted to release a mixed album together before disbanding (many of them were going abroad for studies). If Babna did not come up with many original compositions in the last moment, Warfaze would not have a separate album and be disbanded. Drummer Tipu single handedly kept on going with Warfaze after other four members pursued with higher studies and professional careers. Tipu, at the same time, was part of another great melodious pop rock band called Winning. They also have some timeless creations. 2nd generation Warfaze fans are obsessed with Mizan and Oni. Mizan was chosen for the band because his vocal textures and range matched a bit with Sunjoy. Warfaze is having long legacy. Many famous musicians like Bassbaba, Russell Ali’s bother Rommel Ali (an amazing piano player) also worked with Warfaze. Yet Sunjoy, Russell Ali, Babna created illusive legacy for themselves. Kamal was and still is one of the best guitarists of the country. Look how he is playing with his damaged finger.
Beautiful! And that is why we call you MVP! The entire timeline of the band seems like a movie script about the various times the band faced throughout their musical journey! They should create a documentary to pay tribute to this legendary band which still is in tact even with a new lineup!
90's all high school kids are obsessed with Warfaze...we have grown up with their magical and powerful music..they just changed the era of music by their extraordinary musical power and mood..it was like musical revolution ❤❤❤..there were another talented vocal named #Balam who was with #Warfaze with some popular songs for certain period of time. Congratulations to Legendary Legend #Warfaze for their 40 years journey❤❤❤❤
I was introduced to this song by my father. At that time I didn’t knew what Warfaze was. My father was playing this music in the room and chilling and I was maybe 8-9 years old. I got me that time because of its melody. Last time when I was In my country I remember I was the one Playing Obak Bhalobasha on speakers and my father who was sitting in another room, came to my room and started enjoying and humming the song. This song resonates within soul. I believe the Original track will be passed on to the next generations easily and so on.
Fun fact: The guitar Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal playing is also named 'Obak Bhalobasha'. This guitar is inspired by the original artwork from the album cover of Obak Bhalobasha and is handcrafted custom made exclusively for Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal.
I don't usually comment on reaction videos because I know most of the emotions are pre-rehearsed to get more views, but what a brilliant analogy! Good to see some real music enthusiasts with good set of headphones (not those earbuds youtubers). I understand the usual resistance by the fans fans including Polash in this masterpiece, because I consider myself as the fan of that original warfaze. But the baton analogy is more appropriate in the case of timeless songs. You have earned a loyal sub.
Your reaction covered almost all the parts of this renewed track. But one thing you might not be aware of the fact that Babna's vocal still remains the same after long 30 years. Isn't it a magic?
I just amazed the way you takes all the names , like you know them year after year just like we know since our childhood. this makes feel so much love for both of you.... i am so ready to keep you guys in Bangladesh forever.. and the T-shirt ..toooooooo much
More than the reaction and analysis, what I liked here is, even originated from a different country, you own the song as much as we do. Felt like talking to brothers with same music taste, rather than some random UA-camr listening to the song with no emotional attachment whatsoever. After your review, I wait for the next coke studio song. After each coke studio song, I wait for your review. A vicious cycle.
We are glad that you are trapped in that loop 😁 We want to thank you and all our friends who watch our video for all the loving and valuable inputs they share!
You guys are so amazing. You guys have more knowledge about Bangla songs than the majority Bengali people out there. Take love from Bangladesh bhai ❤️😅
Fun fact the flute part is actually originally played created by keyboard By Russel Ali the former guitarist and keyboardist of warfaze Russell Ali, currently a successful LA-based music producer
They say they have Scorpions I say We have Warfaze! ❤ Warfaze is an emotion for us! And I love Babna Karim bhai's voice the most! Thanks for reviewing this timeless beauty!
Obak bhalobasha, is a modern classic, and use of classical musical instruments in the intro solidifies the concept that if done right all music genre can work seamlessly. I was waiting for Let’s Talk about It review. You guys are better Wafazian than me.
The song was released in 1994.. . 30 years ago. Warfaze would be 40 years in june 6 this year. First singer of the video is babna karim who was in the lineup of warfaze's first three albums and is a legend of warfaze. The tune and the lyrics of Obak Bhalobasha was also composed by him And the 2nd singer is polash noor who is current vocalist of warfaze since 2016.
Today I just hv heard 6 different reaction videos on this track. However, your analytical reaction video is by far the best ( as always)! I simply have enjoyed your talks thoroughly. Keep it up brothers.
One of the oldest Bangladeshi music band is Warfaze ❤ and they have completed 40 years, and as part of that, Coke Studio is bringing back their songs recreated by them. Here the main singer is Babna Karim😊 But what's most enjoyable is the traditional bamboo flute of Bangladesh. 3:02 in that time you see the legend of this bamboo flute of Bangladesh and he is our Jalal vai ❤
I was telling the same exact thing about passing on the baton! And I had the same feeling when I heard it for the first couple of times, I think after hearing it for 7/8 time I slowly integrated this version to my 30 years old one! Give it a go for a few times you will not feel jarred anymore! Excellent review as always!
Best review ever!💞 You know 'Obak Bhalobasha' is not only a song but an emotion to many, who grew up in 90's. Personally, I never seen Babna Karim on stage singing this song so it was an 'obak (amazing)' surprise seeing him on Coke Studio's version. Can't believe his voice sounds same after 30 year! Thanks to appreciate Polash Noor. Many listeners were comparing his voice with Babna so after your positive review, I heard his part again and I think he is good too. Many thanks to review the song immediately after release. I was really looking for you guys. You are a gem! 💎
As always, I was waiting for your reviews/reactions of this timeless Warfaze classic. Finally it came out. I love to see you covering various aspects of the rendition in details helping me understand the song more satisfactorily. Now every single release of CSB song has become a sought-after event to me. And your response to it is turning out to be equally important. Hats off to you guys.
Original version was just keyboard for flute tone and this version use flute and that time Guitar and Keys played Russell Ali and Bass was Babna Karim vi and this version guitar playing Samir and Kamal Vi, Kamal vi known as Guitar Legend in our country but I think he is Legend as a Composer and Lyricist and Philosopher aswell, and Russel Ali was only Keyboardist in Warfaze when they release 1st album and also he was learning guitar from Kamal vi and interesting thing is Kamal vi gave space Russell Ali to play guitar in 2nd album and Obak Valobasha is out through Russell Ali by the guidance of Kamal vi and now you know everything.... Thank you so much for reviewing. you guys are amazing listeners what we supported our famous bands like Warfaze, Feelings, LRB, Miles, Feedback and so many band from their beginning. Love❤ from Bangladesh. Live long❤
You need to check out their old songs to know their real mastery in the heavy metal music. Despite having no modern gears and music sources, they have created some amazing master pieces in the late 80s and 90s. I would recommend Ekti Chele, Nistobdhota, Shadhikar from 1st album. Ondho Jibon and shekhano bornona from 2nd Album. Nisshobde from 3rd Album, Oshamajik (live), oshoni shonket from 4th album. Hotasha from 5th album. You must not miss few other amazing tracks as well such as bichchinno Abeg of 1st album, jokhon from 2nd album, emon Dine from 4th album, alo and mrittu alegi from 5th album. Shopno tumi nou from 6th album. Kamal bhai is now quite sick. But trust me, he is a world class guitarist. Probably the finest in Asia in his best times. He has amazing music sense and skills too. You can understand this if you go through the guitar works of the mentioned song.
This is fantastic! You two absolutely kill it every time. Your reaction videos are some of the most anticipated reaction videos I see online. It's clear you're passionate about this, and that authenticity really shines through. Your reactions are always spot-on! You truly capture the feeling of being 'one of us.' Keep up the brilliant work! And this track is speechless! I won't say anything more, but I know I'll be listening to 'Obak Bhalobasha' a million times over. It's a timeless journey and this rendition adds a whole new layer of nostalgia in the best way possible. From the visuals (Shout-out to 'Krishnendu Chattopadhyay' the video director of this track) to the music, it's an absolute feast for the senses!
more than reviewing, i love how you guys discuss about the songs; attaching so many strings to so many things from so many aspects! I loved that part, where Haris was saying about running too many things (strings, backup vocals, cellos etc.) at the same time preserving the essence of the song. Best best best review so far. This also tells us, how well educated you are about the original song. Kudos guys, love and respect for you two
Thank you for the overall discussion. There are couple of things that need to be addressed - Creating a different a rendition of something which is still relevant is extremely difficult and it is properly done here (though I would love to hear a bit of solo from Kamal) - The concept of passing baton from old to new is really interesting and well portrayed - Actually there cant be much things said about the whole experience because this song is absolutely great / the best Lastly we are really fortunate to hear a new version of this song (done by the same people who created it) and this guess will live for another 40 years with another generation. One of Warfaze's fans named Rafi gifted them the T-shirts. They put it on for the first time when they reviewed the original version of "Obak Bhalobasha". Go check it out.
You guys should react "Shekhanu bornan" by Warfaze.. No one can sing this song.Even warfaze doesn't did this in any live show after sunjoy kamran left the band, till then this song is a mystery
Babna Karim Bhai by profession is a Mechanical Engineer, working at Honeywell and living in Huston, Texas, USA
AFAIK, he also taught at BUET back those days.
Oh yes we got to know about that when we reviewed the original track!

May all the lights dim down to darkness
Only, let them stay awake -
Those faraway stars
May all the words quieten to dead silence
Only, let this ocean stay alive
Along with me. Ahaa
Ahaa...
Ahaa...
May all agonies be wiped out to calmness
Let my heart be filled with the sheer joy of existence
Deep down in my soul, with a startled stare
The eternity is standing motionless right here
Ahaa...
Ahaa...
On the seashore of white sands
In the careless breeze,
With guitar in my hands
Silence is now shattered into shards
Strumming wild,
I cry out in amazing passion
As if the diamonds, rubies & emeralds
Together, in the heart of the ocean
Weaving sublime patterns with
A wonderful love!
Timeless love!
