Men and women are not body, but they have different types of body, like you have two different types of Trees, they cannot give same type of fruit. Soul is prakriti.
We are spirit souls, parts and parcels of Krishna, no doubt! But we can't just get up and walk away to the spiritual planets. Although, we realise as devotees that the bodily concept of life is false, but for this life I have to work (serve) according to the type of body I have been given (due to my own past deeds made in countless past lives). Suppose, I have the body of a man, I will have to work to maintain my family. I can't just decide to go and become pregnant since I have realised I am a soul and not this body. Definitely, in the spiritual world there is no such distinction as man and woman and all spirit souls are simply devotees(servants) of Krishna. But, while being in this material world I will have to work under the nature of my own body. Similarly, a woman, after realising that she's a spirit soul, and not this body, can't just decide to become a man. She has to carry out her own Stree-dharma prescribed in the Vedic literatures. A woman's highest pleasure is becoming a Mother and thus her dharma is to take care of her child and give her the samskaras suitable to make her child a devotee of Krishna. However, Many western women consider the position of mother to be lowly and shameful. They feel insulted to be called mother, and to be thought of as a mother they perceive as being looked down upon as a meanial slave; or in the least, one who is expected to bear disproportionately the burden of emotional labour (empathy) and mental load (watching for loose ends in poorly conceived rules and daily planning). Similarly, it is also the Sva-dharma of a woman to remain chaste, faithful and helpful to her husband. On the spiritual platform there are no material distinctions but in the material world distinctions exist. One should strive for the spiritual platform without being obsessed with material distinctions. As long as we have sex desire we need to follow the rules and regulations to elevate and purify ourselves. However both men and women can advance to the supreme perfection within this life.
