@indu 123 Unfortunately this is the real problem with ISKCON and dwaita philosophy. The conception of each person and "God" being fundamentally separate makes it okay, and indeed requisite, to keep all other relationships at arms length. Indeed, it is always described from the perspective of the person speaking, and generally that person is a man, filled up with inherent biases, and in this talk sometimes reeks of outright sexism. The proud claim is that any relationship with real people (mothers, fathers, wives and husbands, children, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and anyone else) is secondary and inherently futile in one's pursuit of God. Therefore, Srila Prabhupada advises that one should not get too "attached" to someone else, specifically his own wife. This is problematic to say the least, and can lead to terrible relationships devoid of real empathy, and connection. In this scheme, people are only useful in as much as they are able to help the individual achieve some closer spiritual connection with God. The individual is happy when a wife or husband cooks the food, tends to the house, earns money or was not a debtor. In doing so the other person has enabled an environment for spiritual growth. For those like Srila Prabhupada, who didn't care about the mundane chores and didnt see his wife as beautiful, he saw no point in having a wife. But this view degrades marriage into a fundamentally transactional relationship and sometimes an object of distraction via sex. It is just the exchange of services. It is not grounded in empathy. Indeed even the notion of "seva," a corenerstone of ISKCON, is expressed as doing Krishna's will. It is an attempt to make Krishna happy on its own, not borne of genuine empathy and connection with the people who are being helped by the seva. This reasoning is fundamentally flawed and creates a deep apathy and disinterest in the world and others. Now, do all ISKCON devotees relate to it this way? I dont believe so. At least I hope not. However, it does not change the flawed reasoning as provided by the ISKCON belief structure itself... However, there is a way to achieve spiritual advancement and maintain relationships. The myth that this is not possible is dangerous and harmful to society. Any real relationship should be firmly seated in understanding and empathy. It must be borne of genuine attention and devotion to another's safety security happiness and growth is requisite. This can be achieved when one is completely grounded in the fundamental perspective that we are all one and that all the petty distinctions of myself and or my wife or husband are illusions. Indeed we are actually all one. However, the institution of marriage is special as it cultivates this mindset between two people, and creates a lived expression of our fundamental unity. Marriage and deep relationships enable us to transcend our petty identities and see the ourselves and the others in our life as one. This is explored on all levels in a marriage: the mundane, financial, emotional, and existential. It is constant work, and a constant unravelling of one's ego. It is fights, and fun times. It is tears and joy. It is seeing each other in our successes and failures. In this process we break each barrier. Each day works to destroy the deepest egotisms that divide us. This opportunity is the rare in life. Marriage offers the potential to liberate one from the illusion of separateness. It is powerful beyond all else. Now what of detachment, and the other preachings of other Hindu thought? Well, to that I say that the attachment that is borne of impulsiveness and self gratification is the real vice spoken of in Hindu shastras. The elimination of all attachment would be to cease existence. However, in attachment in relationship we exist. When that attachment is selfless, and pure, and devoted then we become blissful and kind, and god-like. This is the goal of everyone, to be the best they can be. Indeed the power to unravel the ego is a fixture of deep and committed relationships. The friction and resolution of issues in a relationship are instigated by the differences that we perceive in each other. These differences we perceive is Maya. But ironically, it is also the tool for our own spiritual growth. By breaking this Maya we build powerful and happy families. However, denying the creation of real relationships in pursuit of one with God is dangerous to say the least. It creates disconnection between people, and asserts in every relationship that you are always second or third or last best because my true relationship is with Krishna. I know I'm glad I am not married to someone who asserts that our relationship is ultimately futile and only a tool for something else.
Apparently, the wife get more blessing than his husband when she served him. Im not sure but do some reserch on Bhagavat gita, you will get the answer.
@@krishnahingoo2772 Indeed, read the Gita. However, the Gita says nothing about wives serving husbands. The truth of it is that Krishna the historical figure lived in deep antiquity, possibly back to 5000bce. Most narratives of his philosophy are owned by tradition that came about during the Bhakti movement in relative recent history. These movements created a corpus of literature, stories, and a belief structure anachronistically, and imposed their value system on Krishna. If you go back to the Gita without the biases of the Bhakti-only sampradayas you find a progressive message and panentheistic cosmology. Bhakti-only ideology came up in competition with abrahamic religions to show how Hinduism can have blind faith also...

I'm a krishna devotee..but this is not at all necessary that a women should follow the footsteps of a man..we all know what mens and womens are in todays world..no 1 is good enough to be followed ..... But what if the case is that..women is a devotee she got married to a non devotee man..then also she should follow her husband?.. This concept is totally wrong..and the same situation goes for the men's too...any person who is a devotee man or a women...their devotion towards krishna should be there 1st priority... Because all this relation of family husband wife children everything is temporary..only krishna is eternal...so follow the creator...not the creatures... Hare Krishna....
Very true... Bhagavad Gita was spoken by the Lord to destroy all the wrong notions of Dharma that had been established during that Age.. We should follow only Krishna and his teachings and no where has he stated that to attain him, a woman must follow her husband... His teachings apply to every single soul on this planet, no matter the type of birth... Every being has God in him.
Hare Krishna. Srila Prabhupad here means that most of the women have less interest in self realisation as compared to men. It does not mean women are weak .This is natural difference .So therefore if a woman follows the devotee husband she will automatically get the advantage. I agree with point if a woman is devotee while man non devotee then according to me woman should not follow him. Srila Prabhupad never said this that devotee women follow non devotee man
@@sourabhpruthi3618 srila prabhupada had himself said that on the spiritual platform man and woman are equal... If iskcon is promoting spirituality, it should stop commenting on the material duties of woman... I find some of their comments highly disrespectful... Most of such comments are based on scriptures and we already know how over time scriptures were manipulated to suit patriarchy... Bhagavad-Gita is one text that cannot be manipulated as the things written in it are very difficult to click in the mind... Can only be understood by Lord Krishna's divine grace.
And You can think whatever you want, there is no compulsion but what's written in the scriptures can't be changed .... Just like people think without guru you can follow spiritual life 🥴🥴🥴🥴
Here prabhupada ji is speaking about ideal marriage life. So as per scriptures ideal marriage is one where a husband a trained brahmachari, takes a lead role in the family and wife follows him, their material and spiritual life will go smoothly. He is not talking about foolish husband or foolish wife etc.,
But Lord Krishna never said such things about women... Women are said to have less priviledged births.... but they too can attain God... The qualities of fine speech, fortune, fame, steadfastness, patience, intelligence and memory in women have been said to be representations of Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita.
you said is right but Prabupada said is right too, the lecture is for brahmacari, every knowlegde must fit with the student you know what im saying, you cant say medicine is bitter too a child, you say it sweet like strawberry for the benefit of the child who is sick, but we say the truth because the medicine for child is produced with sweet taste you know what i mean do you?

@@riteshghorpade_rmg We are no longer in Vedic times and moreover the hierarchy u hv mentioned is not recommended anywhere by Lord Krishna. Only what is directly said by the Lord has relevance for eternity. The rules and regulations of the material world should keep changing to adjust with changing times. Service should always be directed towards the Supreme as He is flawless. Blind service to a bodily relative without consideration of his/her character is ignorance. By directing our day to day service to the Lord, everyone in our connection gets served in the best manner.

He is not talking about foolish husband or foolish wife etc.,
Why would you try to monetize Prabhupada's lecture? So annoying to be interrupted by advertisements.
Will anyone tell me where the Centre of Srila Prabhupada G in Patna (Bihar).

How can it be women can't become goodness...if goodness is present in women.. men can also be followed.... !!!
It's true women are self dependent they can do things on their own they don't need Anyone
Here I also disagree with srila Prabhupada 🙂🙂
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The Vedic Hirarchy is simple
1.Sanyasi are served by Brahmana's
2.Brahmanas are served by General public
3.Husband is served by Wife.
4.Women is served by his Son and Son's Wife
Women serves his Husband and gets service from his Son and Son's Wife.
Man serves Brahmana's and Sanyasi, he also serves his Daughter and gets Service from his Wife.
All of them serve The Supreme Lord also.
