I believe the lesson to be taken from this episode is that you should always sell general stuff, like vehicles that everyone can use in almost any kind of work or business, in auctions and you should sell the more specific vehicles for specific works in another platform, preferably not the auction where the buyers are buying to sell someone else and not use the vehicle.
Probably worth a look but also if he can find the time to private sale then he'd get more too. That's the disadvantage to the advantage of being able to sell quick and fast at an auction I guess
A $2k difference isn't too bad in all honesty, especially for some older vehicles, shame the old original girl had to go, but such is the evolution of business mate, onwards and upwards to a bigger & better Ashville, great to see where you've gotten to so far, and are moving towards...a true credit to you!!!! I've been following these auctions for some time now. I had intentions of travelling to the UK to check it out in person and hopefully purchase something...but then Covid hit. Haven't followed the truck prices much, but I have noticed the prices on plant seem to be higher earlier in the year before the "season" starts. Closer to the end of the year (before winter) the prices have seemed a bit lower. Looking out for their next auction in September 2021. It was really nice to see this from a seller's perspective though. Wishing you all the best.
also you need to watch out the political stuff happening in the background. When my city (stuttgart-germany) announced that no cars below EURO6 will be allowed within the city, many people panic sold their brand new diesel cars 70% below the actual price. That was on one hand sad and on other hand a blessing for everyone outside of stuttgart.

@@chocolateontoast arguably, but that’s if you’ve got time, in this case daniel’s planning on reinvesting that money back into new reg-compliant lorries which he’s going to lose a lot of money on anyway, might as well get all that hassle over with in one day and get the new ones on the road ASAP rather than hold out a couple of months in the hope of a few extra grand
It all depends on the business’ circumstances
@@AhmedMohamed-vf6te Yeah that makes more sense thanks for explaining mate.
Seeing them going on the trailer would bring tears to my eyes!!
That transporter is easily worth 8-10k!
Great video & i hope you learned something by spending the day there? i was in the game (auctions) in the UK back in the 80's, and my old boss said "forget what the book says, forget what you have spent on it, the true value of anything is what somebody is prepared to pay for it"
These trucks can make 100s of pounds per hour...in Ghana, to be precise, y'all look into it..
Great question at the end. Superb presentation.
If drivers “aren’t comfortable” driving a manual gearbox they’re not with having. Drivers are not the same quality as we had back in 70’s & 80’s. At least they could fix things on the road and not just park up and wait for a mechanic.
steering wheel attendants ?
no drivers now are way better
Whoever edits these videos does a fantastic job.

NEVER EVER EVER sell your belongings at auction if you want to get decent money for them. Auctions are the worst of the worst. And remember, he has to pay seller's fees as well. He got shafted but some of us saw it coming from a mile away...
When you need to pay debts you gotta take one for the team
Daniel , this was an excellent video, enjoyed it very much, The VW Van was cheap as chips and probably worth a bit more in my estimation, bit of a tip, Take the grabs off the tippers before they go to auction as they will make you a few extra grand to add to your total selling amount, good luck.
What happened to weekly just disappeared
Hi Daniel congratulations on reaching 288,000 subscribers and well done to you for all of your hard work
Daniel, couldn't you have put reserves on your items so you'd at least have taken the grab home.
I think u have to pay fir a reserve, it may not have been worth it
Your trucks are in top- condition compared to other stuff: 2:00 That Scania R380 looks absolutely hammered...
Imagine now what this ULEZ did to smaller businesses. Madness people need to STOP complying and not pay.
