From a financial standpoint, it’s hard to say whether or not replacing the valves is the right thing to do. From the viewpoint of those watching the video, most, including me, want to see that old original engine run. I like you guys. You don’t try to be slick or act cool - you are very relatable. Like most of us watching, you plow ahead whether or not it makes sense. Keep doing what you’ve been doing. It works. You work well together and you’re interesting to watch. Love all of those old trucks you found in that field.
As an owner of a 70’ International 1100 I’m all for getting those valves and making this ol girl run again! Internationals are special trucks you see Ford’s and Chevys all over marketplace but these trucks are much more rare and have a lot of character. I love how original this truck is the period respray is so awesome and how it wore in! I’d get it running reliably and leave it in its work clothes as a survivor!
Excellent Video RESTORE CREW Wyatt :) , Lance :) , Christian :) yes think that motor and transmission be make go after get parts you need ! Also would top transmission up fluid in to plus Clutch plate plus parts before start up and check differential fluid axle plus brakes too!
Awesome video thank you for producing a car video that doesn’t have any bad language. I’m praying for you and your Dad and family. You keep up the good work. You are being a bright light for Jesus in a dark world. I’m thankful that one day I got Restored by the Lord when I surrender my life to him. Have a blessed weekend
Get yourself a lathe. Go to a junkyard and buy some bigger diameter valves for a different engine and turn your own valves from here on out. Love the content, keep up the good work and stay blessed
Another great show. Sorry you both have had so much trouble. We can’t figure out how all the water got in there. Could it have been under some water for a bit and it wasn’t drained out ? Well you two will sore it out. I love the old truck.
I have been waiting impatiently for any video uploaded by this wonderful channel. I love you all. You are truly cooperative and understanding. It is a happy family. God willing, I will visit you as soon as possible. Greetings to you from Yemen. ❤
Lance/wyatt/Christian with restored/turning rust along with Dustin from jennings motorsports have to the best channels on UA-cam they call can take what is basically a rusty crusty boat anchor into a running engine absolutely awsome videos as always
I would spend some time on the interwebs researching these old flatheads. I’m sure there is a chat forum somewhere out there that could be a gold mine of information. Keep up the good work gentlemen!
Amazing job, you are such a cool pair working together, I've been working with my dad on a few projects, and I love watching others who actually know what their doing... Would you happen to have any tips, or tricks on how to free up a seized engine on an older Allis-Chalmers model B like the double tractor you guys have? Just got it from my Grandpa who wants to see it running again anything that could save the block would be a super help. As Always, stupendous job!
Verse of the Day for Friday, October 18, 2024 ✟ “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” James 1:6 (KJV)
Plz can u male more content on the bottle found in the woods I'm so gutted u done a silent vid on that one as it's 1 ov my favourite cars and also more on the deloran and ecto boost keep up the great work from james in uk 🇬🇧 💯👍
We got a vice grip garage that came on Friday like he does every Friday and now we got a restored premiere on the Friday that's cool that means I'm going to be sitting here for a while I better make lots of coffee
G'day Lance...mate, you need to get yourself the screw type valve spring lifter tool. It looks like a set of tweezers with a tap head on the head. That'll lift the springs and hold them up whilst you manipulate the valves. You'd be better off just rebuilding the whole engine to be honest, those valve seats look really bad fkr holding compression. As for parts....have you tried contacting Vintage Power Wagons? This block is almost exactly, if not 100% exactly, the same as the 1940's Dodge blocks I have for my 1940's WC-51 Weapons Carrier trucks !!! These old Dodge/Chrysler/Plymoth/DeSoto blocks are basically all exactly the same. I have a T214 block in my 1942 Dodge WC-51 so I'm pretty sure if you spoke to Vintage Power Wagons they'd have the parts you need.
If you know anything about those Old Flat Heads. No matter the name they always threw out the first quart or a bit more with in a very few miles. I have owned many and still do drive one and it has been completely Rebuilt but still throws the first quqrt out through the Dip stick and exhaust. I always ran mine a quart low and that saves me the first quart.
DARN ,, THIS ENGINE GAVE YA! A VERY HARD TIME IS IT GOING TO BE A BLESSING ??? COULD YOU GET ANOTHER ENGINE AND REWIRE IT TO A 12 VOLT A GREAT OLD TRUCK, NEEDS A NEW HEART TRANSPLANT ,, ENGINE .. AMEN FATHER AND SON.. AT WORK..
I am restoring a KB-1 please let us know what you end up doing with this truck. It looks like its in better shape then some I have seen. I could use the fenders and front end or if the price is right I would buy the truck.
Those Engines use a Dip Babbitt System to splash oil Most of us Pull & Toss those A 235 drops right in & it's Cheaper than Rebuilding all those valves, - at $60+ per valve
You would think there must be a chart somewhere that lists valves by dimensions instead of by application. There must be some valves for a completely different application that are close enough to the same size they could be made to work. Yea right.
Yall need a wash tub full of vinegar and just lay a motor in it for a few days and I'd have that block machined to fit a cheaper valve, maybe something later model will fit
Can’t believe you guys spent so much time fiddling with that engine. As soon as you found the broken valve the engine was never going to run. Just send it to overhaul or junk it and find a replacement.

Good job 👍 ❤
Good job in this engine 👍
really nice looking truck.
Beautiful old trk
sandblast the engine/motor that'll clean it up then new parts and paint
Check with Iron Trap Garage and see if they have any used valves. Great looking truck and I would love to see her run again.
Best way I've found to unstick pistons when the head is off, get a pan of boiling hot diesel and pour it in the cylinders. The heat expands the boars.

Very good my frends
Hello from Charleston SC!
I hope you will be able to get this truck running!
Love the channel what about Facebook groups for International Trucks?

You guys need some paid sponsorships with the companies that make the gasless generators and solar panels for powering your stuff wherever you are.
That’s a sweet looking truck, if the engine is no good, you can put another engine in it
I'd love to see you guys, actually restore one of these old relics
If you are going to replace 2 valves, just replace them all.
There is a company that specializes in old obsolete manuals called Faxon, you might try them. Good luck with this one looks like a nice old truck.
Nice truck
I’d turn this truck into a dually pickup.
AT WORK..
we all know that it'll run, doesn't make it any less interesting - THANKS
It has been 40 years since I've seen the hammer and block to free up an ol engine.
I am restoring a KB-1 please let us know what you end up doing with this truck. It looks like its in better shape then some I have seen. I could use the fenders and front end or if the price is right I would buy the truck.
Praying...
like it already!!!
Just a wild thought silus at Adventures made from scratch had a truck cab like that complete maybe you could get the engine out of it?
Try IH parts America for old International parts. That’s where Holden Brothers get a lot of their parts for their International projects.
It should run by change the valve .don't give up😊
Pour Acetone on the piston and light it . Get them hot . Then after it goes out try them .
Hello Lance and Wyatt
Ya know, you're only a small distance away from an LS swap. It'd probably be cheaper than buying all new valves.
Like!🇧🇷
Those Engines use a Dip Babbitt System to splash oil

Lance is going out for one of those caveman comercials 😂
Hi guys
You need to invest in a spring compressor

You epitomize what are called “shade tree mechanics “.
