unfortunately this is where the GTI does NOT shine; the k03 turbo in these cars is far too small and they lose steam after about 6200k in the rev range, but i usually still shift at or near redline. My stage 2 GTI stock rims and stock all seasons pulls on my friend's stage 2 WRX (2006 model with the 2.0, not the newer 2.5l)
the gti makes like 160kw, wrx 195kw.... i guess the mods on the gti put it close to the wrx a random exhaust without a tune on a wrx will make u lose like 4 - 5 hp
:D, very true but we choose our races wisely. Stage 2 GTI vs Bone stock WRX. Stage 2 GTI will be rematching Subaru. The VW swapped out his rims after the race. in this vid he had c4 corvette rims on the GTI which weigh a ton.

Gti needs a driver mod agree but third gear is so long once he threw in fourth or fifth (third and fourth are both long.) he was taking you. You can race to just 100 especially in a roll 130 or 140 at least
