I am a type of human who doesn't like to gossip and criticise anyone behind their back.... but in college I fell into company of a girl who always used to do lots of gossip and back talking and no surprise tha after some time I stared to enjoy those gossipings.......but one day I realised that most of the gossip were false and made by her only ....I instantly stopped her company, blocked her ...and my dear friends all the toxicity that she brought to my life was gone. I feel so great now

Sadly, you did not quite understand the quote "Choose your friends wisely". You may not be smoking but if you are hanging out with friends who smoke, you are part of the group that enjoys smoking. Choose the books that you read wisely, choose your entertainment wisely, choose the food you eat wisely. If a person constantly reads books about fights and action, that person is slowly going to begin thinking and acting violently. If a person constantly eats unhealthy and processed food, his or her body is going to become unhealthy. If a person always watches negative entertainment, it would affect his or her life in a negative way. My attempt always is to make sure that I make friends who don't have "Too many" bad habits - we all have "Some" bad habits and that is fine but being friends with people who have "Too many" bad habits is detrimental. I also selectively pick and choose healthy food to eat... and the list goes on... Trust me, being in negativity affects our mind in a negative way, whether it is association with people, entertainment, food etc..
