That tarp idea from some commenters is a good idea. I have a Shelter Logic "garage" which is built like this Harbor Freight 10x20. I just pick up a cheap tarp at Harbor Freight (especially when they're on sale) and throw it over the top. The tarp takes all the rain, snow and UV damage and after several years I just replace it. So far, the original covering is still in good shape. Oddly, this latest tarp has been on for several years and is still in good shape. If I remember, it was a better quality tarp than the first one I used.
Appreciate this; someone threw one of these away down the street from me and, lacking any numerical markings, I was out back guessing what went where......primarily the shorter (#3) pieces. As hot as it is here in West Palm Beach right now (Heat index is currently 104 Deg.F!!), any time saved by being inside on the computer is appreciated! Since no tarp was with the tubing, I will be covering it in corrugated, tinted plastic panels that I trash picked nearly a year ago. Hoping to end up with a reasonably sturdy, semi-permanent structure. Thanks Again!!
Still use this today, 3 years later. We don't get much snow, just 9 months of rain. I do store my kayak in it now: ua-cam.com/video/HVRRZ4iO-oA/v-deo.html
That canopy will last years longer with an extra layer made from a commercial grade tarp added over the top. I have 3 storage tarp-roofed shacks I cobbled together from discarded canopies, and pallets. Oldest has lasted 7 years so far. If they ever start wearing through, I'll just fit another tarp over them.
Thank you! I thought I was losing my mind of why I couldn’t get mine together. I got extra number 2s and and a number 1. Hopefully I can make it work. Also like the idea of adding tape to hold it together! Thank you!
it was pooling rain and snow that collapsed my 10 x 17 portable garage, , but mine was not on level ground. i had ends propped up, but wind blew it off .
How has it held up long term? I have the 12x12 ozark trail one and it got killed in heavy rain. Also concidering the fitting kits that use chain link tubing
They hold up well. If the tarp has any slack in it, rain will collect. Water is very heavy and can bend the poles. I have been thinking of going to a muffler shop, and see if they can make replacement poles.
@@tubejim101 i got a nice fitting kit from amazon that lets you use standard size chain link fence tubes, then went to tractor supply and got the thicker walled field fence tubes to use. I gotta say for what it cost i'm very pleased with it. I'll build a real garage eventually but for now this works great. I put furrring strips across the top and used standard metal roofing panels and used those concrete anchor blocks on the legs, should last quite some time.
Confused more now. Lol, not by video just its used & I seem to have more peices I dont need and less I do. I will get it one way or the other. God bless your paths.
FYI, if you spray you 10x10's cover with sunscreen every other month, it'll last forever. Only works with the plastic fabric covers. I haven't yet tried it with plastic tarps.

About to buy one today. Thanks for the video

I watched a video showing you can put metal roofing using 2x4s and metal using this frame.
That's what I'm going to do with mine when my top fails . Put metal sides on it . And I have the poles sitting on 1 inch fiberglass poles
How long did the tarp last? It's been 3 yrs. :)
Still going strong as of today:)
Is it galvanized? Did it rust?
In Oregon we get so much fresh water rain, it is hard to rust. Going on 3 years. No rust.
maybe run a screw or rivet into every joint to keep it together?
You could. Good duck tape seems to work well.
Thanks so much for posting this. I couldn't figure out the #3 pole not being long enough! You solved my problem buddy!!! 👊
Yha brother! Thank you so much! My wife and I were scratching our heads about it.
will the frame bend in high 🌬️🌬️🍃🍃🍃?
Depends on how high
Does a lot of sun get under it throughout the day as the sun moves or is it always pretty shady ?
Would it cool the concrete in the Arizona heat? My back yard is too hot for my poor dog trying to find a solution thanks buddy
Shade always helps
👍Same problem with #3, nice fix! Thank you!
Bought this and lasted 2 days. 25mph winds bent the whole thing like noodles. Returning it
High winds here too. I anchored mine down with tie down straps.

Mine was wrong , and had no numbers on it , it ended up being a 12x17 lol...
i am going to try the “pool noodle hack’ to try to keep water from collecting.

@@jstmag You should make a video showing it.
They don’t handle wind very well the canopy won’t last a year but a 12 mil tarp and put it over the cover
Thank u. I am putting one up now.
do you think you can make something to cover all sides
They make ones that have 4 sides.
@@tubejim101 yea but these are cheaper lol so i was wondering if you can like buy sides for it lol
@@jayelectic8017 The cost to buy material to make something would be very expensive, compared to the cost of just buying what you need first.
Could use tarps
Can the legs be lowered?
You would have to modify it. They are not meant to be adjustable.

Might need to call the store and see if they have another one in stock. Then swap it out.
@@tubejim101 good idea. But its old and it was free. I think I have it figured out. Thanks.
It’s almost 10’ tall

how do you spray it that figh? from a stepladder? do you use the 303 Marine Uv protectant, or what?
That’s the same one I got 👍
