SMB Infinite 1-Up Trick - NEW Method (Crazier than what you knew)

I discovered a new way of doing the infinite 1-Up trick (with bouncing on a Koopa shell). Instead of doing it on the stairs, the new method relys on "__|" shaped platform. It's a pity that I can't think of any other places to perform this other than the ending of 6-2.
What's worth notice: this new method can generate lives (and also points) almost twice as fast as the classical method, because both kicking and stomping count. With the classical method, kicking the shell usually doesn't count due to time gap being too short.

Great question. I found this by testing if there are more places to generate lives, and planning a route for a new crazy TAS project (which is so complicated that I don't know if I'm able to finish or not). Traditional methods can't generate points as fast as this, so this can be useful for my new TAS project.

Doesn't SMB max out at 99 lives?

Not 99. The lives counter goes all the way to 255, but you can say it maxes out at 128.

It's fake because upon kicking a shell in SMB you don't bounce and you can't just hit it 2 times rapidly if you kick the Shell.

This method here looks a bit tougher than the old method, as I feel like you have to press Right then Left at a certain time for it to work… I could be wrong, though…

@@HappyLeeHL wow! thanks! i never 'k'new this new trick. at first i thought - "oh this is some young internet guy from todays era who is posting a video of an old SMB 1 turtle trick that most of us already know of BUT he did not know of since he is only 20 or 25. Then i saw how you performed the trick in the same exact area at the end of 6-1. cool! did you get all of the infinite turtle tricks from the ARCADE version of SMB 1? they are on worlds 5-2 with a hopping turtle not a regular turtle coming down the brief stairs already after a gap, 6-1 via a flying up & down turtle, and in 7-2 with another hopping turtle. thats cool we can also perform the trick on the beetles during SMB 1 home console 2nd (harder) quest! though thats harder because the turtles and beetles are faster
