Ha! Yeah it really is a ton of fun... its one of the most exciting types of fishing definately worth it... thanks so much for watching! I think I'm going to make a tuna for beginners video where I'll walk through exactly what you can expect from beginning to end on a tuna charter... might be good for folks to see prior to getting out 60 - 80 miles to sea. Haha
Curt!!! How are you doing! All is well over here, transfered jobs, new baby, new house, new youtube Channel and still getting my fishing in! All is well over here... hope your doing well also. We def have to get out on a trip! The giants will be in NC soon! Haha I'm all in for those!!
Thanks so much Skipperry63... yeah that was an absolute blast of a day! Offshore fishing can just be a ton of fun... Thanks so much for watching and for tuning in... I really appreciate it. Hope you had a great weekend and your enjoying the content!
Johnny!! This video just showed up in my stream. Great work on the tunas! I have three fluke trips booked with Tommy this year. Hope to see you on one of them. Not a fan of trolling for tuna, but I understand how effective it can be. Does Tommy do chunking trips or jig and pop? That is my preferred method for tunas. Let me know.
Hey Phil!! Sorry for the late response... I've been meaning to txt you over some possible dates... Tom does do chunking and jigging, but its all dependent on what the fish are doing... if the fish are spread out we have to troll or you'll catch nothing all day... if the fish are moving and herding bait, same kinda thing... if the fish are held up on a piece of structure or hanging in an area with a lot of bait, then we typically will chunck or jig... also people screw up the chunk and jig bite pretty often... so, if that happens we will switch to trolling as well... Yeah, I'm sure I'll be seeing you this summer... can't wait!!! Glad you liked the video!!!
haha OH NO!!! not an overload, haha I try to make these videos simplified so everyone can do it... I hope I wasn't confusing in the video. Let me know if you have any questions. Happy 4th to you too!! So glad you tuned in. Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it.
@@staytight6340 hahahaha ahhhhh I gotcha!!!! Ok great to know!! Thanks so much... sorry I was in the sun all day, my brain is fried... so glad you liked the video though!!! Thanks so much. Happy 4rth!
Hey @gr723.. sorry for the delay in response. I just saw this... Great question... the gear I use for this fishing is: Shimano Tiagra: amzn.to/3n7UlMv Trolling Rod: amzn.to/42GKkGo Line Mono (80Lbs): amzn.to/3LPCNiB Braided Line backing (85LB): amzn.to/3niamQ6 Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks so much!
We actually cut that trip short of our legal limit because we had so much fish... We ended the fishing trip because if we released those fish in that hot of water they would have died anyway... each fight was over an hour and the fish fight so hard they actually burn themselves from the inside out due to lactic acid. Despite many international stereotypes we (and many people I know in the USA) are extremely conscious of fishing pressure. Most of my channel is catch and release by the way. so, yes... we do release lots of fish. thanks for watching.
