Those Big Rotory valve 2 strokes were sure a blast to drive! Just hearing the sound of that bike gets my heart racing! I used to ride a 1972 & 74 Yamaha 360, in the dirt and the wide open spaces of Arizona were a dream to a 14 year old and still are!

      Was a 1972 Yamaha 360 comparable to a Kawasaki bighorn 350?

@@carsonholtorf8233 Bighorn pulled ahead in drag race, Yamaha handled maybe a little better but they were equal enough riding together it was often up to the rider. Some of the best times riding those in the open desert!

Always brake check at low speeds first ride of a foreign bike so you're prepared for a emergency.

I think I had an old one of these as a kid growing up outside Coffs Harbour in the mid eighties. It was a bit of a wreck. My dad paid $100 for it and the intention was that I could use the engine for a go kart I was building. I took it for a ride and straight away knew that the kart I had built was never going to handle that motor.
Compared to my little Honda XR80 it was a beast.
Everywhere I rode I was trying to keep the front wheel on the ground.
In the end the motor blew. Melted the piston and popped a tiny hole which killed it. I was probably running the wrong oil mix or something.

No air filter or an air leak.

@@redtobertshateshandlesmay well have been that. I was 16 and my mechanical skills were pretty good for a 16 year old but still had a way to come.

It seems to be 'hunting' at tickover. You may have an air leak or need to adjust the carb? Mine would not run properly on UK ethanol fuel until I went up two jet sizes, after all these things were designed for 4 star leaded petrol back in the day.

Yes, sounded a bit lean - that, or it was cold.
The F7- this bike’s little 175cc brother - was *very* cold-blooded. It needed several minutes of choke on after starting, then it gargled bad when I took off on a cold morning. The smoke cloud was *awesome,* though.
On second listen, you’re right, it’s sounding lean, like the pilot jet needs to go a little bigger or there’s a small air leak.

That IS a big bike! A 350 2cycle! Is like a 700 4cycle! Awesome for the dirt. The average bike in motocross racing bikes used to be 250 2cycle but now it’s 400 4cycle. And that 350 is still bigger than that
