Thank you for the informative video- especially appreciate you setting the A80J up with the narrow stand position as I suspect that’s what most people will end up using. Keep up the great content!
Thank you so much! The only video showing the possible narrow foot mounting on this 65" A80J model. Now I know that it will fit on my 120cm wide table :D Greetings from Poland!
Amazing! The setup guide provided by Sony was shockingly bad but this video was everything I needed! Even managed to follow the tips to get the feet on by myself! Thank you!
thank you so much, I feel so dumb, I tried to replace tv stand legs with narrow wide but couldn't figure out how, thanks a lot, now my tv will be perfectly fit on a tv stand
@UChMfY3EIyVJWZriWjejQnL Yes I have done in the past and I aim to sometime this year. But I think Dan has had more experience than me when it comes to Sony TV's,so maybe worth checking out what he has tested already 🙂
The instructions & manuals are useless for showing the narrow foot setting. I hope Sony is aware of this issue. I was searching all over. Such a waste of time. This video explains it very well, good job TellyDan !
Hi have a good day, I want to ask you a question about this tv model SONY 65A80J, Actually when I watched other unboxing videos the tv box itself was different from yours, and I noticed some thing that your TV has 1 regular Antenna input and 2 Satellite inputs and you mentioned it in 9:53 in your video, but in the different unboxing videos of this exact model tv, there was only a simple antenna input! Could you please tell me the region of your TV or exact model? I wanna buy it and I don't wanna buy the wrong one, thank you so much 🙏
Insane contrast setting. There's totally no shadows. Only deep blacks. My monitor Dell U2717D IPS settings: Brightness 75% Contrast 75%. I saw this great TV at BestBuy today it can show shadows well but this recording above is not accurate representation. But it lacks brightness a bit and autodims if it's too much white in the scene. Bestbuy show room was well lit though.
Could you please tell me where the power button is on the tv itself??? I do tech support over the phone and have tried to tell people but we don't have images and I can't find the answer ANYWHERE.
Hi just wondering what the best 65 inch tv you would recommend so many to choice from looking at around about just under or over 1000 pounds and finally what do you think of Hisense I have to admit my choices are Samsung or Sony I no LG are good but don’t fancy the burning screen sorry for,all the questions so,confused thanks😎
Hi Neil around that figure for a 65 I'd go for a Samsung QE65Q60A the picture quality is good for the money the sound suffers due to the TV being so thin. If you already have a soundbar or hifi you could connect that would solve that.
@@TellyDan i need a longer lead for my sony bravia xr xr55a80j as i plan on wall mounting it, would it be ok to use a 3 prong c13 cable instead of the 2 prong c17 cable that sony uses?
Thanks for the video, do you know if you can use the narrow feet in the sound bar (raised) setup? I've got a Sonos beam to go in front of it and a narrow (98cm) table
@@TellyDan Thanks. Is it unscrewing screws already on the legs or are they separate screws that came in the box? Because if the latter......I think I threw them away accidentally. Am I, um, screwed?
Great Video, that´s the one i´m looking for!.But I don't quite understand why you have to change the feet and which I call them locks (the ones with the screws) than from right to left!Thank you!
Could anyone tell me please if my connections are OK? HDMI 4 (Enhanced Dolby Vision) - Blu ray 4k Dolby Vision. HDMI 3 eArc (Standard) - soundbar. HDMI 2 (Standard) - Nintendo Switch. The soundbar is connected to the TV via earc, Nintendo Switch + Blu ray player are also connected to the TV. Thanks.
5:12 despite the great instructions; I still managed to spend at least an hour working out how to get the narrow legs. Then I found out it still wouldn’t fit on top of TV unit. Good times 😅
Why don’t you show the stand components from all angles. Have no idea how these pieces go together! All I want is to make the stand higher and I can’t understand your way of putting it together.
Are we nuts about how big are TV s are just go watch the event...no joking the big TV s are amazing....I was asked to keep and I and stay at my neighbors house while they away for two weeks and had to watch their 72 inch flat screen... chasing Maverick s was one movie picture was insane more impressive was the sound...big too...they need to come on wheels they are too heavy...just gave away a 55 boy it was hard to lift and heavy.... Thanks
Just bought the tv and Sony instruction are horrible, horrible , wonder who’s is written for this nonsense instruction !!! I just couldn’t figure it out , Thanks for this video !
Ive just got this TV and I love it to bits , one thing that concerns me is some netflix and some movies watch have black bars top and bottom , I was wondering if you knew if this could cause long term burn in issues ?
...gotta be careful not to get the oil from your finger prints on the TV screen when handling it cause that could cause you to have permanent fingerprints stuck on your beautiful, expensive screen.
Lovely TV, great picture and sound, but AWFUL build quality, mine came with a slightly bent frame at the top.. returned immediately.. I'm guessing because they are so thin this might happen, but never thought it would come from a Sony
Finally first video that shows how to set up the feet inwards to fit in shorter length of Tv stand. Thank you! Just ordered mine!
You're most welcome, I'm sure you'll get years of pleasure from it

I will be putting mine on a 28" stand. 😅

Thankyou glad it helped
First video I find that shows the setup procedure, thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to get mine.
Thanks
Thanks, Tellydan, for your thorough Sony A80J TV setup video!
You're most welcome
Thank you so much for your videos. They are extremely important to me and very helpful.
You're most welcome mate
Thank you so much, the explanation of how to fit the feet was a great help, cheers.
Thanks so much!! You made my day..without your video I will be struggling as usual
Thanks mate
Considering the limited space you have to assemble the tv's, I think you cope bloody well!!
thank you so much, I feel so dumb, I tried to replace tv stand legs with narrow wide but couldn't figure out how, thanks a lot, now my tv will be perfectly fit on a tv stand
I needed this. Thank you.
You're most welcome
Thank you family
Thanks, Dan. You guys in the UK are lucky to have two satellite/cable/OTA coaxial inputs. In the USA, we only get one.
Great video mate 👍
I always find the Sony remotes a little on the long side.
I'm sure the top is in a different time zone from the bottom.
Lol that's longggggg, cheers mate
Hey Tech Giant, will you ever review Sony TVs? Love both your channels btw.

I got the same problem 😅
thank you, helped us a lot to view your installation video
Another thorough, clear, review. I could talk home cinema with you all day! 😉
Cheers mate
Which one is the best wall mount bracket for this one
?
Thank you so much for showing how to install the legs!!!!!!
I just got my A80J 2 days ago but here in Australia our remotes don't have the record button and the TV doesn't have any coaxial inputs at all.
Thanks for the instructions, so helpful 🤙
Just hooked mine up using USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter instead of WIFI and get nearly double speed or 500 MB. Had mine since last October.
That oled picture looks so dim, I wonder if I made a mistake not getting the Samsung qn90A
I'm only on standard pic settings it will go brighter
Hi, why is it written A 8 j on the box? Is it the same as 80 j?

Can’t wait for the last episode where coffeezilla confronts Gabe’s for allowing this to happen.
You’re such a pro!!! I wouldn’t have been able to put in the two feet by myself
Brother, you showed how to put battery in remote in slow video, but the important 'stand assembly' in fast forward mode?!
Any difference between the 55 and 65 “ models
Thanks wery much. wery nice video
I like how Dan tackles any television size on his own! 😆

I’ve ordered a sony x 85 but the person delivered and left without installing..have to do it myself..not sure if i can do it myself

Yes it is

Just taken delivery of the A8J; bit curious if there is a difference to A80J as this is what I ordered (yours is also marked A8J on the box)
I think they're the same thing. I can't work out why it's termed a8j and a80j. Hope you enjoy it though
Hi Sir how do you remove the TV stand? Can you show us please
Would my sound bar block the tv on the standard setting? It’s 2.25 inches tall
Needed this as I am putting the feet inward as well. Is it safe to lay an OLED flat (screen facing up of course) while I put on the feet?

Samsung Q900A Wall Mount Where is it ??
I've filmed it on a standard flat bracket but not edited it yet
@@TellyDan ok pal cheers
Is that one any help to you? I did do a video on the slim fit wall mount that fits the qn900a but I used the q95a as the example tv
Before I attempt to remove the legs and set them up for soundbar mode.....how easy is this? Are screws needed?
Hi Ryan, it's fairly easy to do. Be careful and use 2 people if possible, the screws are included and the configuration is on the quick setup guide
@@TellyDan Thanks. Is it unscrewing screws already on the legs or are they separate screws that came in the box? Because if the latter......I think I threw them away accidentally. Am I, um, screwed?

You don't have to change the feet configuration, I did it to show a narrower width. You can just fit them as they are but it's quite wide
@@TellyDan I bought the 55 " and thanks to your video, the foot conversion took about 10 minutes. Thanks for such an informative video!

Can you use the remote as the air mouse or just as a cursor? Thanks
No, only LG has this feature
