The J.B Bickerstaff hire also gives me more belief as hes handled a similar situation with Dmitch and Garland in Clevland could be the year things start to click for Cade and Ivey.
I agree he's good with guard s,both have defined roles with Bernie,Jaden been putting in the work with that shot and it shows, people forget he's been coached since the womb.
He looks awesome in the regular season so far too. Different player from his first 2 seasons. He's confident on drives, good form from the 3, doesn't forcekickoffs, and he's no longer a negitave on defense
Iveys rep took the biggest hit from Montys antics last season. His role and playing time were never truly defined, and the pistons were a development hell last year as well. i think this year the stability and plan alone will help him take a mini leap, and the vets that actually want to be here and mentor a little bit will go a long way as well.
They had to deal with what the rockets delt with, with salas. Was hard for anyone to develop there without structure, which is why I think green is having a longer curve of development. Hopefully JB can help develop these guys.
If the players and coach can strike a balance between Ivey and Cade actions, with Ivey providing rim pressure and hitting his catch and shoot jumpers while Cade does his perimeter creation and decent slashing, that's the foundation of a really good offense there, even with the theoretically awkward fit of two high volume guards
One of them are gonna have to get a better shot though, because neither rn are plus shooters and makes spacing really hard for them to create separate from each other
@@elitetv1735 I mean, if Ivey's jumper is real, that's a great sign. And I feel like with guys who can feed him, Cade should have a better c&s percentage

JB is probably the biggest thing for me. He seems to prioritize team Basketball A LOT better and getting them to buy in better as well. But Vinson’s work is huge. Ausar is out rn, but I’ve seen some footage of he and Vinson training that jumper. It looks a bit smoother, and I can tell he’s most likely been his focus all summer

This MIGHT be Ivey's break-out season, but right now, you're just guessing. Weird how people always guess in their teams favor.
I’d like for Cade to lean how to keep the defense honest with disguising the intention with his passes a bit more. He does it from time to time, but players of his archetype like Luka do this well. At 7:11, he looks at Ivey way too early when he should’ve held that help defender with his eyes until the last moment.
Kinda 180 disagree with the statement "As much as I like Cade, he doesn't do a great job of getting downhill and initiating contact at the rim and drawing double teams for his teammates". I actually think Cade is much better at this, but I sorta get it too. Ivey gets almost past his first man always, but settles super quick. Cade is better at forcing his way but doesn't quite have the finish timing and steps down. Either way no chance Ivey draws doubles more. I also think Ivey operates awesome off chaos and isn't very good decisions vs a set D.
Ausar Thompson is the starting shooting guard of the future. Jaden Ivey's ideal role is a Jordan Clarkson type role. 6th man microwave. Him accepting that role is the problem.
Fw the video heavy and I think Ivey is gonna be a darkhorse MIP candidate. But Cade definitely brings rim pressure, it’s just that our spacing has prevented us from unleashing it until now
Cade’s rim pressure has definitely improved and I expect it to show a lot this year for sure, I just think Ivey’s natural athleticism gives him the opportunity to leverage his rim pressure more naturally
@@AlexHoops it’s definitely more natural and easier for Ivey to create rim pressure with his speed. I really think both of them will take a leap in efficiency and rim fg% in our much improved offense.

Nah son. He's been a terrific prospect and now being allowed to play and learn on the job. He's good. Again, this is why Monty Williams is an idiot. For real tho somewhere down the duke forgot how to coach
Where you stated Cade doesn't get to the rim as much as you like, it's because he is good with the mid range shot. He knows when he has space to pull up and doesn't need to go to the rim as much. Cade doesn't use speed to get past his defender, but is more cunning with hesitations and stop and goes. This is what I think Ivy is doing more to, but Ivy will go to the rim more also. He has a good three level scoring ability, which is being showcased more. For them being able to be on the floor together, Ivy will give another good catch and shoot option when Cade gets past his first defender and help drops from the three point line. It will be good to see what happens this year with the addition of Tobias's scoring ability and if it helps to open up more for Ivy too.
The Nets should make a move for Ivey, really good chance to buy low now and have him develop in a low pressure situation with a better fit than next to cade
