Gavin Harrison is one of the best drummers on the planet! It’s easy. Dude is humble and low-key but he absolutely kills it behind the kit. Decades of drumming! Easily top 5 drummer.
@@nightsdew8136 It was the London Session Orchestra. Dave Stewart wrote the arrangement - I always thought it had a bit of a Bernard Herrman 'Psycho' feel about it.
Thanks to an article in the Guardian newspaper I discovered SW and TFB album which led me to Porcupine Tree and other work. I must say this is some of the most fantastic music I’ve ever heard. I’m buying as much as I can on on CD and vinyl in an effort to support these wonderful artists. Thank you for getting me excited about modern music again.
Completa. Musicisti straordinari che ti portano a spasso.... in uno splendido viaggio. Sarò il mese prossimo a vederli a Milano. Non vedo l’ora. Li adoro.
Fantastic vizualz!!! The limited world fit nicely. I love the string sections in this song. They're right out of the Beatle's Sargent Pepper's AND Bond, James Bond. Early, Early Bond movies, round about Shirely Bassie singing the Theme songs era, strings.
P.S. How l left out the Hammond B1 Organ, l jus' don't know. It was a staple of bands in the mid to late sixties. Steppin Wolf, Three Dog Night and a ton o' local bands, lugged around those beomoths. That spinning speaker organ sound was sublime at the time. I saw that Sweetwater is selling a $3200 machine that gives you the real organic sound for today's keyboards. John Lennon and George Martin made a unit that actually spun the speaker to give that constant high speed Doppler sound fx. Steven & Barbieri make so many tributes to Rock and Jazz's original sounds throughout their music, it's impossible to keep up. My brain catches, l want to believe, most, naw, many of them. But remembering the sources fluently would be a musical Jeopardy! Challenge.
Yes, yes and YES. I really cannot describe what I feel when I listen to this song. And the visuals.. I actually prefer live, but anyway, thanks PT for the YT Chanel, thanks for the uploads
Yeah the video is not satisfying for this dynamic song/doing it justice, which is why it's thankfully not called the music video. It's still cool to see the well produced live visuals they used live back then. Nice Lasse's Hoile's and Vshebor's beautiful work isn't being forgotten.
15:07 Gavin Harrison drummer He gives the exact time to each blow... I have never met someone so perfect----Obviously he's in a band that does everything perfect
PT, the gold standard for my audiophile listening sessions I hold. I LOVE the huge big vocal harmonies they just fill the entire mix. Love it all and "to the bone" solo album was nothing short of amazing too
I've listened to this song many, many times, but only tonight listening while high, did I realise that you can hear "Sleep forever!!" being shouted on repeat in the background!
I saw them live a few months ago (Nov 2022) and they played this one as the closer I think and it was just sublime. You want to enjoy the detailed music but at the same time headbang to it.
El proyecto musical más interesante de los últimos años. Contiene todo lo que una banda ha de ofrecer: personalidad, calidad y creatividad. Genial línea lírica y musical.Pero creo que me quedaré con el recuerdo: Volverán algún día?.... .
Yes!!!! This was on the official website and what got me hooked on the band! I've been wanting to see this again for so long, so glad it's finally released again! I've searched Wayback and the site never worked so I thought it was just lost.
Quel chef-d'œuvre ! Magnifique mariage entre la musique répétitive, le rock planant et le métal avec une utilisation absolument fantastique des nappes de violons. Pour moi, Steve Wilson est le meilleur compositeur de ces 3 dernières décennies.

I'm sure there is an anvil in the drum kit. Great song, there is an insistent undercurrent that drives this on and won't allow you to disengage. Monster.
this song has one of the best sounding drums I have ever heard
gavins a beast
Harrison is a GOD.
Mr Harrison is absolutely the best

Damn. All these songs suddenly on UA-cam. Undescribable feeling.
It’s because they were warming us up for their reunion.
Sneaky Porcupine Tree
Steven genius Wilson.
That's what I call him too. 😃
Straight up absolutely, thanks to roadrunner for putting me onto them unexpectedly.
Porcupine Tree is a band ! Is no just S W
@@HectorLopez-ct3kq We admire other members as well. ❤️❤️
Yeah like this.
That sublime violin solo at the end...perfection
Especially as it was a synth, prob a classical strings vst plugin
@@InnerCityOrganicz pretty sure there's real strings on the album, so I guess it's not a plugin on here...
A mellotron maybe?

What an album this is...
One of my all time favorites for sure.
Fear of a Blank Planet is my fav by them. Every song just rocks
Yup. I place this record without reserve on the same shelf as The Wall. It is epic.
It's wild that it seems, other than Anesthetize, to be a bit underrated. To me it's a literally perfect record and in my top 2 of all time.
I LOVE this song!
The Dogg's B`s
I fallen in love with the guy that make me lessen to this song . Nd lessening to it when I miss him
Please return porcupine tree , we need the magic in the music.
Coming to your local music hall soon
People will never understand the feeling of rediscovering all these PT songs after such a long long time.
I do
You are not alone! Beware of the Proggers! Be very aware :) !
Looking like the same Przemyslaw Vshebor universe as the "Bonnie the Cat" video :D

I'm not much of a Guardian fan, but I do respect their music journalists.
Depressive but at the same time - magnetic video. Album itself is, of course, fantastic. One of PT's best for sure.
Do you know what does the video means? It is a robot that also appeared in the bonnie the can video, coming to life and drumming. Can you tell me?
Violin at the end... Sublime 🌹
This visual has so Tool's Adam Jones visual style. Great minds think alike.
even the video looks a bit like tool sober
The most importand band of the 21st century... and this their very masterpiece...
The live versions of all FOABP tracks are even better than the album versions imo.
They have so much more intensity
The lyrics are already so layered, but the visuals add a whole dimension of commentary on society.
One of the best ever by Porcupine Tree. Thank you for officially uploading this. We miss Porcupine Tree so much 😭

[LYRICS]
This means out.
This is your way out.
Do or drown.
Do or drown in torpor...
Leave no trace.
All my files, erased.
Burn my clothes.
Burn my Prada trainers.
Let's sleep together,
Right now!
Relieve the pressure,
Somehow!
Switch off the future,
Right now!
Let's leave, forever.
This is fate.
This is your escape.
Leave here now.
Leave here now - it's over.
Let's sleep together,
Right now!
Relieve the pressure,
Somehow!
Switch off the future,
Right now!
Let's leave forever.
(Please, let me out!
Please, let me out!
Please, let me out!)

Richard Barbieri excels himself on this track and even the live version ,which is i feel better. Porcupine Tree delivers again.

The blending of dark Electronica and proged up instrumentation is something PT do like no others 🙌🏼
