Good video. I have always respected people from South India for their simple living high thinking philosophy.
A rupee saved by not impulse buying can be a rupee well invested for the future.

Very well dad said .. 30x of annual expense is difficult to reach.. As it's a moving target due to inflation. Every 10 years the target doubles for the same lifestyle

One has to be happy within. If you are not content, materialistic things will not give you any happiness. In fact money will only make you more miserable. Aiming to grow higher is not bad, but one needs to balance it out with feeling fulfilled. Once your stomach is full, further food intake will only bloat you. Practice gratitude. If you have clothes to wear a roof above your head and food on your plate, you are already richer than 40% of world population! Don't be cheap, be frugal.

Thanks for the video Pattu sir. These are random thoughts we all have and making such videos gives good guidance to young investors.
Based on personal experience, I've come to learn that motivation plays a huge factor in building corpus. Some of us save and build the corpus based on fear of future but motivation is key so sometimes we would have to spend a small percentage of savings on things that keep us happy. Once you don't have any loans, it's what keeps us moving forward.
Spending money is totally fine unless we don't waste it, what's waste of money and what is a spending money is personal perception I guess :)
We all need to find our balance and I found mine at the right time luckily.

Hi Pattu. Your thoughts on ICICI PVT Bank ETF which tracks the Nifty PVT bank index? A similar ETF by TATA MF was introduced as well for which the NFO scheme is on until 29th August. I haven't dealt with ETFs till now, do I need to be aware of any hidden concepts? I am really interested in this ETF as only 3/18 MF schemes (investing in Banking and Financial Services) were able to beat this index considering the data for last 5 years. I was also shocked to find out that none of the 18 schemes were able to beat the Nifty Financial Services Index. Wish there existed an ETF for the same but I don't think there is one as of now. Would love your thoughts/input on the same.

Great Video ! Someone told me that if one invests 30-40 percent of one's income on an ongoing basis one will never have a problem and one can safely spend the rest on discretionary expenses. What is your take on this ?
