      Katt Williams is a Truth Telling Preacher, not so much a Comedian. He also said make sure you picked the right savior
      You Christians…
      So I hope my addition to Katt’s sermon makes you take a look as well…..
      There are 16 crucified Saviors for you to choose from!!

    This brings tears of joy to my eyes whenever we discover new Earth planets, because it makes you wonder what the life forms and living organisms are like. A few generations from now, we'll be experiencing things like in Mass Effect and Star Trek.

    @00004624 "super-earth" simply means a rocky planet (not a gassy one) that's more massive (and probably larger in size) than our Earth. Nothing better about them, from a human perspective. It's not like they're superheroes in any way...

    on question. how do we know what composition does the planet have if we cant see it. as far as i know we can only prove that its there(by observing gravitational influence of a planet on its star and by observing its transit infront of a star) and maybe estimate the size of it and judging by the planet size even venus can be an earthlike planet.

    @alyons215 Right now most SETI researchers only LISTEN for intelligent life. It's a matter of debate in the community whether it is acceptable to "place a call" or who should have the right to send a message, or what it should say. But one could (and many do) make the argument that we've been pumping radio, TV and - louder still - military and weather radar into space for most of a century. Maybe Earth will quiet down due to digital, optical communications. But fascinating questions here!

    They are named after the telescope that found them. Also, we have no way of figuring out if another type of being calls it a different name. Thats like someone calling Earth Planet600544237B because they have no way of seeing the name from the beings that live there.

    guys think about this, it is almost statistically impossible for their not to be intelligent life in the universe or even our galaxy, considering that there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on every beach on earth!

  • @Apidium
    @Apidium 12 років тому

    The largest known galaxy is IC 1101, it's 6 million light years in diameter and contains around 100 trillion stars, the number of galaxies in the universe is estimated to be anywhere from 200-500 billion galaxies (possibly more) and each one of those galaxies has millions, billions or even trillions of stars. On average every star has atleast one planet. It's impossible to say life doesn't exist elsewhere in the universe, I'll never understand people who believe otherwise.

    What about it? Direct from NASA's own website it says HD 189733b is assumed to be blue from color extrapolation but that the blue is not water, its clouds and silicate particles in the atmosphere that refract the light as blue. My issue is the modern classroom is teaching there are 1000s of planets just like earth and therefore there must be one w/life, my response is that its possible, but hasn't yet been observed & not one w/liquid water. So until its discovered the 'newsflash' should wait.

    Yes, but it had no magnetic field, so, it lost it's atmosphere through "sputtering". Charged particles from the Sun knocked the particles and electrons that made up Mars' atmosphere.

    though space may never end, our universe most likely does giving the possibility of the multiverse theory (infinite Universes and infinite stars) which is freaking awesome. though we probably won't even see the centre of our own galaxy. sad isn't it.

    At least one intelligent civilization (if life is indeed widespread) in our entire galaxy should have reached type 2 status (Kardashev scale - Galactic civilization). There is a theory, any civilization beyond type 0 (us) is rare, as the pace of technology and wisdom lose sight of each other and they end their existence with a catastrophic event, intentionally or otherwise. Life is either widespread or extremely rare, both scenarios are equally terrifying.

    @alyons215 The biggest problem is that if the ES planet is say 20 light years away it would take any signal 20yrs to get there... then 20yrs for an answer to come back so 40 years total and that is only if they have a way of understanding our message and a way to respond
    Also..if they are as batshit paranoid as us, they would have to debate for years to decied if it's a good idea to chance a response.

    This is very exciting news is indeed!! How far away are these super-earths? It is such a shame there is no way for humans could explore these planets! Apart from through telescopes.. Sadly warp-drive is 100-200 years away in development. It looks like Star Trek was right!!

  • @xXImaCutYouXx

    If the universe is infinite then there WOULD be planets that looked just like earth. There would be an infinite amount of exact replicas actually. There would also be exact replicas of you and I, everyone on earth, and just about everything because the number of possibilities is finite.

    @VanionLOT you don't believe in an afterlife?

  • @farloux
    @farloux 11 років тому

    Wrong; the amount of space in our universe is indeed infinite. If it ended somewhere, what would be on the other side? However, there is NOT an infinite number of worlds. When the big bang occurred, a certain amount of mass was ejected and that amount of mass remains. At some point in space after the farthest galaxy, there would be nothing but empty space.
    But I do agree with you, the chances are far too great to say we are the only life forms.

    Rather than just searching for life on other planets, we should bring life to the ones that don't already have it. We should send bacteria in all directions in space in hopes that it will arrive on habitable planets and start life. Maybe that's what happened with Earth.

    The odds are actually very good that multiple planets like that are out there. With the possible exception of the lack of biology. Biology might be inevitable on a world like ours, after all, it did happen here. It is also what produced our oxygen rich atmosphere (oxygen was released by bacteria in the oceans billions of years ago). But there might be other ways a planet such as that could form without whatever conditions are necessary for starting life.
