      Soup Dragons had a hit with it in 1990. Dua Lipa did a version of it 2 years ago. Freedom is never forgotten. Ha ha. And it’s a great anthem. Although some freedoms will always seem unwelcome to a faction of the world. So it’s tricky… this freedom we speak of. Happy July 4th. It’s ironic that I wound up here speaking about this on today of all days.

    For my money, this tune was the closest the Rolling Stones got to sounding like a folk-rock band. That chime-y, Byrds-ish guitar and tambourine throughout both say it all.

    Could this "hold me, love me" be a reference to Eight Days A Week by Beatles?

    Que grande los stones, a causa de los beatles a veces los ninguneo, pero ellos eran amigos que la prensa hacia enemigos, los stones lograban esto: buena musica tambien

      Think about recording technology... this is from pre autotune era, released in MONO audio. Dua Lipa.... mmm.... listen the video in studio and compare her natural (beautyful) voice with the final result.... A modern recording studio can make sing even a dog.

      Music should be kept real and human. Sometimes mistakes make the song. This song is a great example.

    • @terrypussypower
      @terrypussypower 2 роки тому

      @@goesjem One of my favourite examples of mistakes being kept in, is “Whole Lotta Love” by Zed Leppelin😊!
      During the “woman, you need…loooove” breakdown you can hear Robert Plant’s vocals leaking through from a previous take, they couldn’t get rid of them so they just put them through an echo chamber and left them in! And it’s an iconic moment in that song, that would’ve never have been left in if it had been recorded with today’s technology.

    This channel belongs to Alan Klein Corporation and actually owns the Stones catalog until 1970 after a bad deal. When the Stones wanted to buy it back they refused. So they still get all the money,
    It had to be said.
