Hoyt Rx7 Speed Test! I put a quick video together for the ultimate speed test, im looking to help the average guy out that hasnt been able to make it in the shop and test out the speeds of a bow.
So I made it simple for you to take a quick 5 minutes and watch me shoot the bow with multiple arrows from 25" draw all the way up to the 30" draw the hoyt rx7 offers. I hope this video helps you know what your setup might be shooting!

Illustrates how the rotating mods can be speed killers in certain positions. Hoyt needs some overlap or a 3rd mod. Can you do this with the VTM34 also? Would also be curious to see the Phase 4 33 to see how their mod system effects speeds vs rotating mods
Mathews Phase 4. Love this comparison.
I’ll have to do it!
Can you do it for the Rx8 Ultra ?? just a short guy wanting a stable platform
Fantastic idea of shooting the bow at different draw lengths with two arrow weights that are close to common weights.
It would be beneficial if the draw weight were mentioned. (Maybe I missed in the video)
The video pauses and pixelates (if that's a word) at the 3:14 mark.
But it seems to clean back up at the 3:20 mark.
It's a bit unique that both the 28.5" and 27.5" are the same speed.
While the 28" was faster than both the 28.5" and 27.5".
This could be due to the lack of ensuring the draw was at the back wall, as some of the shots looked fast and not settled.
Or it was due to one shot per draw length/arrow weight, which doesn't provide averages.
Keep testing more of top bows!
Just mention in the video and in video notes what the setups are, draw weights, and which module is used for bows that have performance/comfort modules.
cool comparison. the ~20 less fps for additional 60 grains is interesting.
It's incredibly interesting. Really makes you realize how important each grain is. That's a decent jump. I used to look at 10 grains as semantic
Very cool test. Would be interesting to see results on other brands/models 🤔
What happened to the other give away? Did I miss seeing who won? Bought the flags….
Appreciate the support! Yeah the winner was picked a couple months ago!
Great video, I'm interested in the speeds of the Z 1 S by Hoyt. If you would please
Thanks Bruce!! Yeah I’ll add that to the to do list!
Dam good test.
Appreciate it brother!
Do the Bowtech SX80 next if your shop has one
Do it with the bear alaskan 2024
Sooooo, I'm lost on this 😮
How does the bow shoot the same speeds at 29" and 28" , just by using the different mod. ?
Correct, so at the top end of a cam it’ll perform better then at the bottom end. Even at the same draw length just due to the position of the mod. That’s exactly why I share this info!
