I still think that hallowfall crystal ‘Beledar’ is the tip of sword Sargeras plunged into Azeroth; it looks like a tip of a sword; and it could have introduced a corruption/imbalance to the ‘below’ world.
"Beware the eyes of green" could also be implying that there's going to be a Blood Elf traitor in Midnight. Or Illidan coming back and doing something reckless. Or it could just be some random human named Paul who happens to have green eyes and accidentally frees an apocalyptic threat.
0:36 it is amazing to me that we are STILL finding possible solutions to Ilgynoth's whispers like 8 years later. Like I know the void whispers are purposefully vague but the sheer amount of interpretations that seem to be backed up by the lore are staggering.
I appreciate how - since the Void are said to see multiple futures - it is entirely possible that _every_ possible interpretation of a particular whisper is the correct one. (Even better would be if someone were to confront Ilgynoth about the whispers and demand a straightforward answer he's just as likely to laugh and say it was all misdirection, and taunt us for falling for it.)
It's almost as if there are writers behind this lore.. it's not as if they had all this planned when creating the whispers. They just threw out sentences that they can choose to use some point down the line.

I'm 99% sure that the Haranir were dark trolls who didn't settle at the Well of Eternity, but instead went deeper underground and found the roots of Elun'ahir. Not kaldorei, or technically elves at all, but a similar evolutionary path based purely on nature rather than the arcane.
To be fair, the night elves pursued nature magic much much more than arcane.....and it was the elitism and exceptionalism that Azshara showed when she went for arcane magic that made her different from all other elves; not the default normal majority.
Yeh, im under the impression that the Haranir are the (near) natural evolution of trolls to elves. The Well of Eternity oozed magics that altered the trolls to be elves in a much shorter time than it would have taken for them to naturally go that route and id wager the haranir are just part of the way through the evolutionary cycle. Thats not to say theyve not had some magics altering their evolution, but until its said otherwise, i'd say that the ecosystem theyve been living in prior to their arrival in ahz-kahet had little to no real impact on them evolution-wise.

It happens later on to Murlocs that found the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, which has water from the original Well of Eternity in it. Those Murlocs evolved into Jinyu.
This is an interesting theory, and one that could actually be true. I have seen some think they are what came before the trolls, or that they are the in between of Trolls and Night Elves. But an entirely different evolutionary path for ancient Trolls makes a lot more sense.

While they are "primitive" as well, they have less primitive features than Trolls. Trolls evolve off of magic exposure and so do their "relatives". The more exposed they are to powerful magic, the less primitive they begin to look. So yeah the Haranir could still be the missing link as they seem to have evolved from Dark Trolls who were already in the process of becoming Night Elves.
Yeah, the Black Blood of Yogg-Saron is mentioned a few times in WotLK. There's some mining nodes in Dragonblight with the same name which you mine for a quest of the same name, which later turns out to be Saronite. Garrosh dropped a trinket called the Black Blood of Y'Shaarj too, so it's likely Black Blood is something that all Old Gods can produce, and that it contains great power. I don't remember any references to Black Blood that can be directly tied to C'Thun or N'Zoth, though there's a Black Blood rare mob that would appear during a certain daily quest in Shrine of the Storm, which could be tied to N'Zoth. Perhaps the Old Gods were active for so long that most of the deep places of the world are now full of a mix of the Black Bloods from all four of them, and what we're seeing in the bottom of AK is similar to an underground lake where it's naturally pooling.
That line which says to beware the eyes of green should be taken with a grain of salt. If I'm not mistaken it is in the game files only and never said in the encounter. I'm pretty sure this is one of the lines that Il'gynoth inside Ny'alotha was going to say. But I have never heard him say this line, the one about the golden throne or the one about the nine ravens. In fact he doesn't seem to really say anything prophetic in this version. They are audio files only, much like how Drest'agath (I believe that's how it's spelled) was actually planned to talk, and has voice lines in the game files, but they are not used. I have done the Il'gynoth fight many times in normal and heroic and never heard these lines. I even watched a mythic kill and they never were said there either.
I also wonder if the Ascended Nerubians will become a playable race. There is one you talked to when in the course of questing that talks about her Ascension as a double edged sword. She says that her Ascension has opened doors for her yet closed others. As a result I have a feeling that once the war is won the Ascended Nerubians, like the Nightborne will no longer fit in with their corresponding race and will become playable. I hope that my logic plays out and they do become playable because they are pretty spectacular looking.

What she was talking about is- They lose their ability to make pheromones, their ability to weave webs, and they become sterile and unable to reproduce without the help of a 3rd party void entity (Broodtwister). We saw the same thing in Eternal Palace with Orgozoa handling the Naga eggs. Not only does it not make sense as a player race, it doesn't make sense as a race we'll ever see again. There won't be any more ascended nerubians unless Xal or some other void force takes over another Nerubian kingdom.

Just my speculation but i heard rumors of there being an Undermine patch focused on the Goblins. The Goblins used to enslave Trolls to work in the mines and there is a village on Kezan called Voodress Village which is home to Jungle trolls who view Mount Kajaro (where the undermine is) to be sacred. I would love an expansion themed around nature Trolls fighting back against Goblin tech
I'm looking forward for further storyline of this race and I hope they will be playable. For now harronir questline was pretty short and they are very mysterious people - that left me even more curious about them. Can't stop wondering, what they are: a missing link between dark trolls and night elves or maybe quillboar descendants, transformed by some life being (Elune or someone else)?
Honestly it can be a lot simpler. If the Haranir are a progenitor race, risen from Elune's power through Elun'ahir, and Eonar's power, from her tears, then they are a race of Life and Order both. Features of both. Which their race options depict. Some feral. Some human-like. Trolls would be their descendants that attuned to only nature, through binding to the Wild Gods, retaining the more fetal features. Elves would be those attuning to magic, gaining more Titan-like features.
With many eyes, they will see again. They will drink, and be uplifted. Deeper, deeper its roots will reach. Welcoming our embrace. Her dreams sing beneath the surface. Our dreams. Our song.
I really like their design, and hope we do get them as a playable race. However, I will also say that there are already like half a dozen other races that are also super awesome that would be great as playable races. The Ethereals for instance, would be a nice change of pace as all other races are bipedal humanoids. Plus the turtle, walrus, and bird ppl.(cant remember how to spell all their names lol.)
Should we assume that "life" is the most powerful force? It would make sense thematically in the case of the Warcraft universe as well as our own I feel. "Life finds a way" as a perfect analogy. Perhaps if left unchecked Azeroth will bloom as an immensely powerful life-goddess. This would make sense for Elune to feel so drawn to it when we've seen no other influence from other life-based entities. Perhaps she is Azeroth's mother in a way. Idk just spitballing here.
I wonder how the Quillboar fit in. Maybe they are what became of the Harronir through rot or it is something like the Worgen where they tried to became Boar or it was the Black blood that changed them.
Haranir are nature trolls, while elves are arcane trolls, nelves being somewhere inbetween hence their similar shade as opposed to high and blood elven pink but still on the elven body plan because that's where they came from and they've had, A SINGULAR generation since their inception, pretty sure the player nightelves are canonically around 10000 years old as well. In other words, this actually makes quite a bit of sense. We have plenty of other examples of races being shaped/twisted by the cosmic forces, or deprevation of it. Thinking about it the trolls have a fair claim at supremacy over azeroth, every other race is a form of (cosmically twisted) invader....Hmm, all these trolls massacred in ZG, ZA and so on had a point. Are we the baddies?
If a recall, that tribe of dark trolls in Mount Hyjal ( ''supposedly'' the last ones of this type of troll) die helping the heroes in W3 to stop the advance of Archimonde to the World Tree, they say none survived after that.
Could you do a video that identifies all the powers fighting for Azeroth Soul such as the Void, the light, old gods, shadow, the fell, etc. I haven't played in years looking to rejoin but want to catch up in what has happened so far.
Fel: Not currently. we took out their ability to resurrect via Argus, so their numbers are greatly reduced, and Illidan is keeping an eye on Sargeras. Light: Not immediately, but something is coming. Void: Xal and co (We have allegedly killed all of the Old Gods. It was anti-climatic, but it gave us Xal and current events). The Current Threat. Death: We stopped the Jailer, but his right hand is in a sword somewhere with his natherizem (however you spell it) is still out there. Future threat Order: We're not sure what's coming, but it clearly is, because of this saga, the Incoming Threat. Life: Not a threat...as far as we know.
I think that the prophecies the old gods speak are particularly against _their_ enemies. If the Haranir are on the side of life and trying to protect it against them, the old gods will see them as an enemy, too.
Life is here, void is here, order is here, light is here, Denathrius is lurking somewhere with forces of death, Sargaras still exists as do Illidan and the illidari with a surprising amount of firepower representing the forces of disorder and fel, Iridikron lurks as representative of the primal elements, Ka'resh exists as a potent representative of Arcane power, a holy army builds in Draenor and the Arathi empire... Forces across the entirety of the cosmological chart have been building up forces and if Blizzard can pull it off, It could be a final battle not only between light and void, but a clash between all the elements of reality.
Hybrids? Yeah, they should also add other hybrids that ""would be common"" in greater numbers rather than non common hybrid races(like a Draenei/Panda hybrid wouldnt make sense, few might actually exist but not worth adding as a playable race) for the Horde and Alliance. For example Orc/Trolls, Nightborne/Blood Elves, Human(the Worgen Humans)/Night Elves, Dwarf/Gnomes hybrids do make sense in the Lore and would add more color that players would accept.
I love the Haranir & I really hope we get them sometime next year! I love the Lore surrounding them! I know they are xenophobic but I feel they will need our help in the future! If we do get them I can't wait to see their Druid form's! I love the current gear for them!
I think they'll be the next allied race, for both horde and alliance. Horde got dwarfs with the earthen, I think alliance (& horde) should get these trolls/elves.
I would like to point out that all of this could actually have been connected to both the Nightelf heritage quest in Felwood (and the ancient tunnels it takes place in) and the lore in that quest for why the moonwell was corrupted in that area. Also Elun'Ahir was planted from a branch of G'Hanir, not a seed. That minor details aside it does all fit.
@BellularGaming I will agree with you that they were Elves, but I believe they are De-Evolving back into Trolls. Take another look around the island and see if you can find other things that might be reverting back depending on how long they have been there and and how they originally came into being. Is it something on the Island or something done to the Island to protect the Earthen? Crazy looking fish thing, the Naga? Whatever it is, don't drink the water.
Dwarven allied races have got nothing on the plethora of troll-related allied races: Trolls, Zandalar Trolls, Night Elves, Blood Elves, Nightborne, Void Elves.
Good - no one wants to play dwarves, that's the difference. Blizzard know where to put the dev hours for those. People statistically play more elves, it's a no brainer.
It’s quite likely the roots are wrapped around a second calcified world soul energy. I presume there is one for each core energy. Beledar is light and shadow aspected, so there would be another of death and light and even fel and arcane if true and we know there other forces outside what we know.
Is anyone else getting a feeling at this point that the Pantheon are just pretenders? Imagine something happened to the real Titans and Azeroth is the last "Prime" or true titan world soul and the pantheon, who are actually keepers with the essence of their creators, are all vying to alter her into the kind of titan they want her to be. This is really just a thought experiment and I'm probably missing something that completely obliterates the thought.

i might be thinking too much in to this but i noticed one of the haranir we meet and the one from cinematic has green eyes just that one tho but i know a another race who sneaks in everything knows as the dreadlords or nathrezim also has green eyes so my thinking is they also infiltrated that to maybe maybe that one is a nathrezim jusy like how lothraxion from legion from army of the light maybe also actually be evil
You don't need to go that far. Cosmic Team Life has spies that shapeshift and infiltrate just as much as cosmic team Death did. It is entirely likely that Orweyna is a rare dissident among haranir society and that most haranir are villains against us mortal civilizations, and especially villains against the world soul....which they want to enslave with life magic.
I saw someware that azeroth primordial race half troll half elf, other races are influence of other titans, i guess when the world soul became a titan is this race that will take form
with some dragony aspects, like the eyes, if the Lock Destro artifact lore book is correct. The eye in that staff is supposed to look like the eye Sargeras saw when he dreamed of Azeroth, which is what sent the Burning Legion in our direction originally. (prior to Azshara contacting him)

The Black Blood is likely the same thing as Fel Blood. If Fel Blood is the opposite of Arcane and world soul blood can be infused with any type of magic. Then the Black Blood is either Necromatic infused Blood or Shadow infused blood. Necromatic magic being the opposite of Life magic & Shadow magic being the opposite of Light magic.
I feel like the ascended nerubians could be a allied race at some point they have the same back story as the dracthyr now the queen is dead and been given this bipedal armour friendly form

You've got a false teleology running around in your brain. There isn't any reason that trolls "need" to change into elves. Dark trolls without interference by a well of eternity are not moving toward elf, so there is no such thing as fast or slow.
We know the roots are the tree freya protected and that other titan ripped up...like their titan version story of ripping that sha old god. Real trees can become living stumps if their roots are connected to other trees. That is why Ghanir still lives. Its roots are connected to many others all around azeroth...on both sides. Connected to other world trees, feeding off them. Kind of like a zombie tree. I wonder what belaameth tree awakening did for the balance of energy being consumed. Perhaps it alarmed the enemy and they have decided to step up their plans. I believe eyes of green refer to chaos energy, imo, it is just another word for life. Rot and decay are needed for nutrients to replenish the soil and plants to grow, life to happen. Without decay, we would have stagnation. Order is stagnation. Titans want perfect stone with no life cracking through changing things.
They look interesting, no doubt, but to be honest i would love they stopped adding for a while variations of existing races and add something new, a few examples that come to mind are: the ogres, vrykul, kyrian, the ppl from ravenhold.

I hope whatever plotline there is involving the Harronir also involves the Drust. The Drust are just really cool.

Their tusks are on the opposite jaw compaired to trolls. Same tusk position as the Quillboar however, and they have quills.

Just my speculation but i heard rumors of there being an Undermine patch focused on the Goblins.
The Goblins used to enslave Trolls to work in the mines and there is a village on Kezan called Voodress Village which is home to Jungle trolls who view Mount Kajaro (where the undermine is) to be sacred.
I would love an expansion themed around nature Trolls fighting back against Goblin tech
I'm looking forward for further storyline of this race and I hope they will be playable. For now harronir questline was pretty short and they are very mysterious people - that left me even more curious about them. Can't stop wondering, what they are: a missing link between dark trolls and night elves or maybe quillboar descendants, transformed by some life being (Elune or someone else)?

Honestly it can be a lot simpler. If the Haranir are a progenitor race, risen from Elune's power through Elun'ahir, and Eonar's power, from her tears, then they are a race of Life and Order both. Features of both. Which their race options depict. Some feral. Some human-like. Trolls would be their descendants that attuned to only nature, through binding to the Wild Gods, retaining the more fetal features. Elves would be those attuning to magic, gaining more Titan-like features.

I really like their design, and hope we do get them as a playable race. However, I will also say that there are already like half a dozen other races that are also super awesome that would be great as playable races. The Ethereals for instance, would be a nice change of pace as all other races are bipedal humanoids. Plus the turtle, walrus, and bird ppl.(cant remember how to spell all their names lol.)

Should we assume that "life" is the most powerful force? It would make sense thematically in the case of the Warcraft universe as well as our own I feel. "Life finds a way" as a perfect analogy. Perhaps if left unchecked Azeroth will bloom as an immensely powerful life-goddess. This would make sense for Elune to feel so drawn to it when we've seen no other influence from other life-based entities. Perhaps she is Azeroth's mother in a way. Idk just spitballing here.
I wonder how the Quillboar fit in. Maybe they are what became of the Harronir through rot or it is something like the Worgen where they tried to became Boar or it was the Black blood that changed them.

Haranir are nature trolls, while elves are arcane trolls, nelves being somewhere inbetween hence their similar shade as opposed to high and blood elven pink but still on the elven body plan because that's where they came from and they've had, A SINGULAR generation since their inception, pretty sure the player nightelves are canonically around 10000 years old as well. In other words, this actually makes quite a bit of sense. We have plenty of other examples of races being shaped/twisted by the cosmic forces, or deprevation of it.
Thinking about it the trolls have a fair claim at supremacy over azeroth, every other race is a form of (cosmically twisted) invader....Hmm, all these trolls massacred in ZG, ZA and so on had a point. Are we the baddies?

Fel: Not currently. we took out their ability to resurrect via Argus, so their numbers are greatly reduced, and Illidan is keeping an eye on Sargeras.
Light: Not immediately, but something is coming.
Void: Xal and co (We have allegedly killed all of the Old Gods. It was anti-climatic, but it gave us Xal and current events). The Current Threat.
Death: We stopped the Jailer, but his right hand is in a sword somewhere with his natherizem (however you spell it) is still out there. Future threat
Order: We're not sure what's coming, but it clearly is, because of this saga, the Incoming Threat.
Life: Not a threat...as far as we know.

I think that the prophecies the old gods speak are particularly against _their_ enemies. If the Haranir are on the side of life and trying to protect it against them, the old gods will see them as an enemy, too.

Life is here, void is here, order is here, light is here, Denathrius is lurking somewhere with forces of death, Sargaras still exists as do Illidan and the illidari with a surprising amount of firepower representing the forces of disorder and fel, Iridikron lurks as representative of the primal elements, Ka'resh exists as a potent representative of Arcane power, a holy army builds in Draenor and the Arathi empire... Forces across the entirety of the cosmological chart have been building up forces and if Blizzard can pull it off, It could be a final battle not only between light and void, but a clash between all the elements of reality.
Hybrids? Yeah, they should also add other hybrids that ""would be common"" in greater numbers rather than non common hybrid races(like a Draenei/Panda hybrid wouldnt make sense, few might actually exist but not worth adding as a playable race) for the Horde and Alliance. For example Orc/Trolls, Nightborne/Blood Elves, Human(the Worgen Humans)/Night Elves, Dwarf/Gnomes hybrids do make sense in the Lore and would add more color that players would accept.

I love the Haranir & I really hope we get them sometime next year! I love the Lore surrounding them! I know they are xenophobic but I feel they will need our help in the future! If we do get them I can't wait to see their Druid form's! I love the current gear for them!
I think they'll be the next allied race, for both horde and alliance. Horde got dwarfs with the earthen, I think alliance (& horde) should get these trolls/elves.
I would like to point out that all of this could actually have been connected to both the Nightelf heritage quest in Felwood (and the ancient tunnels it takes place in) and the lore in that quest for why the moonwell was corrupted in that area. Also Elun'Ahir was planted from a branch of G'Hanir, not a seed. That minor details aside it does all fit.

@BellularGaming I will agree with you that they were Elves, but I believe they are De-Evolving back into Trolls. Take another look around the island and see if you can find other things that might be reverting back depending on how long they have been there and and how they originally came into being. Is it something on the Island or something done to the Island to protect the Earthen? Crazy looking fish thing, the Naga? Whatever it is, don't drink the water.

Trolls, Zandalar Trolls, Night Elves, Blood Elves, Nightborne, Void Elves.
Good - no one wants to play dwarves, that's the difference. Blizzard know where to put the dev hours for those. People statistically play more elves, it's a no brainer.

Is anyone else getting a feeling at this point that the Pantheon are just pretenders? Imagine something happened to the real Titans and Azeroth is the last "Prime" or true titan world soul and the pantheon, who are actually keepers with the essence of their creators, are all vying to alter her into the kind of titan they want her to be. You don't need to go that far. Cosmic Team Life has spies that shapeshift and infiltrate just as much as cosmic team Death did. It is entirely likely that Orweyna is a rare dissident among haranir society and that most haranir are villains against us mortal civilizations, and especially villains against the world soul....which they want to enslave with life magic.
I saw someware that azeroth primordial race half troll half elf, other races are influence of other titans, i guess when the world soul became a titan is this race that will take form
with some dragony aspects, like the eyes, if the Lock Destro artifact lore book is correct. The eye in that staff is supposed to look like the eye Sargeras saw when he dreamed of Azeroth, which is what sent the Burning Legion in our direction originally. (prior to Azshara contacting him)

The Black Blood is likely the same thing as Fel Blood. If Fel Blood is the opposite of Arcane and world soul blood can be infused with any type of magic. Then the Black Blood is either Necromatic infused Blood or Shadow infused blood.
Necromatic magic being the opposite of Life magic & Shadow magic being the opposite of Light magic.

You've got a false teleology running around in your brain. There isn't any reason that trolls "need" to change into elves. Dark trolls without interference by a well of eternity are not moving toward elf, so there is no such thing as fast or slow.

We know the roots are the tree freya protected and that other titan ripped up...like their titan version story of ripping that sha old god. Real trees can become living stumps if their roots are connected to other trees. That is why Ghanir still lives. Its roots are connected to many others all around azeroth...on both sides. Connected to other world trees, feeding off them. Kind of like a zombie tree.
I wonder what belaameth tree awakening did for the balance of energy being consumed. Perhaps it alarmed the enemy and they have decided to step up their plans. I believe eyes of green refer to chaos energy, imo, it is just another word for life. Rot and decay are needed for nutrients to replenish the soil and plants to grow, life to happen. Without decay, we would have stagnation. Order is stagnation. Titans want perfect stone with no life cracking through changing things.

They look interesting, no doubt, but to be honest i would love they stopped adding for a while variations of existing races and add something new, a few examples that come to mind are: the ogres, vrykul, kyrian, the ppl from ravenhold.
