    I have a trip booked to Argentina January 1st to see my partner. I've waited months because Argentina was under a strict lockdown and they only recently opened up travel to foreigners. However, with this Omicron variant I can't help but worry. I don't know about the plans of the Argentine government, but I pray things will be okay. I really want to see her, and the country.

      You can visit if you have a partner. I visited my boyfriend in Buenos Aires in May till July and many others did it as well during the lockdown. There was a provision for couples. You didn't have to be married. It was a process but worth it. Planning on going back there with him in April. Good luck.

    In the spring season at Buenos Aires each month you have different avenues with trees in blossom: the first ones are the lapachos, with rose flowers and still no leaves, then you have the tipas (yellow) the jacarandás (light blue) and the palo borracho (white and rose).
    The "tiny" colonial government building in Plaza de Mayo is the Cabildo, and was much bigger, because three more archs on both sides. They were cut for the opening of the Avenida de Mayo and Diagonal Sur avenues. The Casa Rosada was the former fort for the defense of the city. And on the side you have the Cathedral, thus having the three powers in the colonial times (civil, military and religious).
    San Telmo, in the blocks near Plaza de Mayo was the main part of the city, where the rich families lived. When there was a yellow fever epidemic in 1872, the disease was thought to be cause by the marshes in the mouth of Riachuelo (La Boca) so the whealty families moved north, to Recoleta. That 's the reason of so many fine buildings. These buildings where afterwards occupied by the inmigrants, where each family lived in one room of the houses. That is de reason of the mixing of cultures of various inmigrants (mainly Italian and Spanish, but also French, English, German, Jewish, Arabic, Turkish).
    Very nice and interesting video.

    Yes I agree 100% 👍. I lived in Buenos Aires for over 10 years. But I never visited a farm 🚜. But I did travel to different parts of Argentina 🇦🇷. Buenos Aires is truly awesome. And yes I have visited the Sunday market also and it's just as you have shown you will never get bored in Argentina 🇦🇷. I purchased a home in Mar Del Plata Argentina 🇦🇷. But for some reason Buenos Aires Argentina and Argentina gets a bum rap on many websites but mostly by people that have never been to Buenos Aires or Argentina 🇦🇷. Finally people in Argentina have learned to survive and enjoy life under economic hardships. I was last in Buenos Aires in March 2020 just at the on set of the coronavirus pandemic and have not been able to return to Argentina for nearly two years hopefully 👍 I can return in 2022. A great video 📹 👏.

    My childhood WAS amazing! I had University professors for parents, and they bought a ramshackle 600 sf cabin in N.H. USA where I spent 5 months a year riding ponies, fishing, and building forts in the woods, hiking, and swimming in crystal clear rivers, watching bears at the dump, and ice cream on a hot day...
    Now that $3,000 shack is a 2,900 sf - 7 bedroom, 3 fireplace, 2 BA, 1.5 kitchen, mudroom, 3 L.R. home...and has been in our family for 55 years...
    Sadly, I have no children...So this is where it ends.😪

And by the end of November the Jacarandás are still in bloom (many of their flowers have already made a carpet around them after some storm though), and the tipas (Tipuana tipu) start to show their orange flowers. • @Kristinahouwer
      @Kristinahouwer  2 роки тому +7

      Thank you for watching ! To go there, it’s not difficult if you are vaccinated. You need to get a PCR test before you travel and show proof of vaccine and fill out a form on the government website. They might also ask you to have medical insurance for your trip that covers covid but that’s around 10$ and there are SO many companies that do it now, you can buy it online. At the border they just check your papers for 1 min and let you go if you’ve done everything correctly. Most things that I wanted to see in the city were open, apart from the Recoleta cemetery and the tours around Teatro Colon. Mask wearing is only mandatory indoors in shops / restaurants/ cafes, but not on the streets. None of the restaurants checked my vaccine certificate like they do in France for example. Hopefully nothing changes by the time you want to go !

    You are a very beautiful woman and your video of Buenos Aires is awesome. Be aware that Buenos Aires is almost infinite, so what normal tourists see its just a part. Buenos Aires probably has the BEST pizza in the world and its a paradise for Meat lovers, not me anymore. So thank you for your beautiful video.

    I liked the video but honestly, I'm a little disappointed you didn't show some important places. To name a few, Tigre, Chinatown, the Japanese Garden (biggest Japanese garden outside of Japan), Palermo Soho+Hollywood (huge gastronomic area), and of Puerto Madero you only showed a little of the docks, but you didn't go to the back where there is a natural reserve and also there are huge parks and overall it's a really beautiful area. You also didn't show public transportation, like the subway, and specially the beautiful grand stations in Retiro and Constitución. And finally there are a lot of palaces here, they are extremely beautiful and I'd have loved if you showed a few of them. I do appreciate you showing El zanjón, I live here and didn't even know about that! Overall a really good video and I don't want to sound mean, I know it's a huge task to make a video like this and I'm happy you showed this to the world, it's just for me it falls short of the title of being a complete guide of the city

      Thank you ! Next time I will be sure to spend more than 3 days in BA to cover the other places you mentioned too (which I obviously know of , but didn’t have the physical time to visit ). I tried going into the Japanese garden but there were too many people and a huge line and with covid it wasn’t the smart thing to do - and public transport for a single female new to the city travelling alone during 5 protests going on at the same time surrounding the center wasn’t an option either. Have a fab day !!

    • @ResonanceHub
      @ResonanceHub 2 роки тому

      @@Kristinahouwer Oh, you only stayed 3 days? Never mind, that's a lot of places you showed for 3 days! Public transportation is quite safe here, but there can be some pick pocketing in rush hours in the subway or train (but it's not common, it happened to me once in 5 years of using the subway everyday to college). Buses are 99.99% safe though. Always take care but, as long as you stay in safer areas there's nothing to worry. Now, if you ever EVER go outside the city and into the suburbs that's a whole other thing. There's a lot more crime in the suburbs (except for the north in the zones next to the river), so never go alone without asking to locals if that neighborhood is safe. The south of the city is also pretty dangerous too, even La Boca which is touristy at night is a whole other thing. In reality you just have to learn about where you can go and where you can't. But yeah, stay safe

    I’m so sad to hear that they traumatized you making you think that robberies are common. Unfortunately Argentinian are a little but exaggerated about safety. When compared to Detroit, Los Angeles or Chicago, Buenos Aires is so safe. The total number of crime related deaths (including those involving the police) in all the Buenos Aires province was just 134 cases / year. I’m Chicago is 900, in Detroit few years ago it was over 1,000 but now for first time ever is below Chicago. The rest of the documentary it was very nice but I don’t share it with people because of the crime comments, I don’t want people to get scared. Greetings from Thailand (although I’m spending 2 days in Singapore now, 😂):

    Добрый день! Вот комментарий по теме: на днях, в Аргентине избрали нового президента. Забавный малый! У нас во всех новостях показывали, как он размахивал работающей бензопилой на каком-то митинге и ругался неприличными словами на кого-то на радиопередаче. Судя по всему, он работает на США, 😈 а значит будет разрушать отношения между нашими странами. У нас, например, много товаров из Аргентины. Особенно креветки и говядина. 🦐 🥩 Посмотрим, что будет.

    Япония- вообще необычное местонахождение для тебя.🎎 Я смотрел блог русского путешественника, он говорил, что огромной проблемой является передвижение на метро и автобусах, из-за того, что названия всех станций указаны в иероглифах. Иностранцу в этом разобраться невозможно! Он искал англоговорящих японцев, которых оказалось мало и показывал им иероглифы названия того места, куда ему нужно попасть и спрашивал, какой транспорт туда едет. И теперь мне интересно, как ты справляешься с этой проблемой? Японоговорящий помощник? Англоговорящий японец? Что-то другое?
