It was a pleasure to make this video. I felt like it needed to be said. They are too many videos about being scared for AI, but being an artist is more than trendy sounds and competitions with a bot 😅 Thank you for the comment. I'm so glad you enjoyed it 😊 🙏🏼
The A.I. Solitude song doesn't quite live up to Duke Ellington's "Solitude." 🤣🤣 As long as we keep improvising and creating new songs, A.I. can never replace us. It can only do pale imitation of human creators!
I think you bring up some great points about the history of music and our inherent fears of innovation when it's been proven they just propel us into new modes of artistry. I say this as a Hip-Hop artist where, for a long time, rap wasn't considered 'real music'. The only thing that I'm scared of is that, for most new artists, their interaction with the 'industry' is completely digital. Spotify and other huge streaming platforms cannot identify and filter out AI music made under the pretense of real artists and labels. It was never easy to begin with, but in a world of oversaturation (both organic and AI), and play farming/botting, it will just become that much more impossible for genuinely groundbreaking artists to get heard. But I do agree that 'pop' wholesale as a genre is OVER when mixing/mastering standards for these AI-generated tracks become ever so slightly better.
I agree 💯 with everything you wrote. I also understand why it can be scary, but AI mainly creates the cliché and oversatirated music of any genre. Big companies that capitalize with the same product and people jumping in for the clout and lifestyle should be scared, but not the artist. If you as an artist and you stay true to yourself, pick your influences and make them your own, you shouldn't have to worry about it because you'll be ever evolving. Right now, AI can make you an amazing album just like 'To Pimp a Butterfly', but AI will have to wait for Kendrick to release a new album to be able to copy it. Kendrick's albums are about art and concepts, not just content. You know what I mean?
AI works in mysterious ways for me. The songs Udio generated for me made me want to learn to play guitar 🎸! I use already Midjourney to make stamps for my pottery. I am not a musician but I see myself having an AI composer giving me favorite songs to learn and write lyrics about my friends and family just for fun ❤❤❤❤❤
People just gonna use AI to create funny and meme songs, and this is still more innovative that music industry has done (btw. songs You made in this video is quite good, you should publish it)
More innovative than what the music industry has done lately, for sure. The industry and popular artists will use AI, too, and it might even be looked down upon like when they use ghostwriters today. Still, the artist will remain (I didn't save the songs, plus it wasn't my style, and it wasn't made by me, so I didn't think about publishing them)
We have been using our own intelligence to recreate the music we have heard when we write our own music. Now we use AI instead. A much more intelligent version of any of us. Yes there is a lot of crap that AI reproduces BUT in the right hands, some amazing music can be created!
Yes, and that's amazing. In the hands of an artist that seeks innovation. Then, AI becomes a tool for the artist, and not just a machine of reproduction. For me, that's art 💯
The anti-AI people just wont quit complaining and hating on AI. But productive people shouldn't be bothered by it and learn to either work with it or harness it or quit complaining.
We musicians let's just beat the fökkin' AI criticasters and use AI to make our music better and for the creativity :) Cool video Feliciano!!! Maybe we can do something together in the nearby feature :) Bert
We should strike for innovation and creativity. If our music sounds like what AI is doing, then we aren't creating anything new. Those afraid are just too comfortable with a formula.
@@composerfelicianoWe are learning in the same way as AI, but a way slower. AI makes real human music, because it contains countless human sounds, so the music AI makes is real. And there are no limits to the creativity that humans have. It could generate modern bebop with orchestra and metal guitars with polyrhythmic drums and beautiful vocals and it will sound genius. It can generate any solo that will be better than any guitarist on the planet... The vocals it generates are real. You can cry from beauties of the vocals it generates. It is nothing computing as we expected, it's real in the same way as we are real, and that is what scares me
@@Yarekx AI can learn faster and create quicker. that's true. It can also emulate and mix techniques, but I'm yet to see innovation. I am not an expert on the human mind, but I know the importance of consciousness, feelings, inspiration, and real-life experiences as a vehicle towards authentic creation. I'm not saying that AI music isn't real, but, as you mentioned, a human created the sounds first. AI can make a great guitar solo, but never better than the greatest guitarists because it takes more than just music theory and emulation. Even human mistakes are important in music and art. I know where you're coming from, but that's the whole point of the video. To let artists know that there's no need to be afraid. Huge labels and some musicians that don'tcreate1, but ride whatever is popping. They should be afraid because they are doing the same as AI. But not us artist. We always seek innovation and honest expression over any other wave.
Really soon AI will be making music that is much better than what humans can make. You will enjoy listening to it so much at first, even more if you're a musician that can appreciate the finer points. All these arguments about Suno and Udio are moot because your opinions will be literally out-of-date in a few months. You're talking about the current state-of-the-art which is tomorrows obsolete junk. Give it a few more months and you'll see. I don't want to listen to AI created music, watch AI created movies or play AI created games but I sincerely believe that by the end of next year we all will be.
I think we have a different definition of what an artist is. Maybe I should make a video about my meaning. All of your points are valid, and I hear you. My thinking is that most music, movies, etc., that this big companies and most people release are the same thing repackaged. AI will master that formula (already has) and perfect it in no time. On the other side, they are artists that you may not even know about (because they've been oppressed by the industry) that are dedicated to their craft. This artist innovate, and have their own language and style. AI will only be able to imitate their previous work because these artists are ever growing and evolving their art. Now that AI is here, I hope that the public will begin to search for artists who are dedicated to their original craft.
I really want to stay positive and at times I'm still in denial that AI will take over, but posts like yours bring me back to reality. Yes, eventually artists/musicians will become obsolete. Just like anything else, nothing lasts forever. Sad but true.
@micsnz Can we agree that there's two kinds of artists? The artist who innovates and creates concepts and movements. Then there's the product artist who is more of an imagine of the industry with writers and formulas. The artist will never die. The industry might, and I'm not sure if that's a bad thing.
@@composerfeliciano Yes. True artists will never die. But I can't help but think that maybe one day AI will become so advanced that even innovative/true/original artists won't be able to compete. Either way, I make music because I love making music, and that will never go away. And videos like yours help to keep me optimistic. So thanks for this video. :)
Thank you so much for making this video. 🙏🙏🙏
