Thanks for posting Chuck, I’m getting ready to shorten my 56 long bed step side this week. I’m going to do it just like you did yours. Really dig your trucks.
Man I'm glad I found this video. I'm about to do the same to my 59 Apache. Was going to cut 12 out of the center and 8 off the back. This looks like a little less work not having to relocate the back cab body mounts
I'm going to do this to a 57 3200. It's a factory big window cab with all the chrome and stainless and factory V-8 truck. I'm also adding factory 4x4. I have all the correct parts to do the 4x4 right. 57 was was first year for factory installed 4x4.
What’s up Chuck, great builds as always love that gmo truck! So hey so I’m pulling measurements on my 59 fleetside longbed and they seem to be different I’m getting 8” in the front and 12” in the rear to convert it to a shortbed
Great job Chuck! Great information. Trying to get the guts to shorten my 1955 3200. In the video, your markings show a 9.25” cut but on your text message towards the end it mentions 9.5”. I know it’s only 1/4”, what should I cut off? Again, great job! Thanks for sharing.
Hi there - nice job! Very informative! Regarding shortening the stepside bed afterwards, do you only need to take material from behind the fender? Is there a certain amount that needs to be removed? Or a specific method? Thanks
Chuck y ese Apache? Lo vas a vender? Do you also have to shorten the transmission bar when you shorten the chasis? Yes I saw you did after I wrote this comment. I’ve never seen video like this one and I’ve searched all over UA-cam. Well done and well explained
Awesome video bro! Can't wait to start on my 55! Thank you for the help
Killer work, Chuck! Thanks for putting this together.

hey chuck ... made me nervous when those jack stands started to tilt ... thought you were about to lose it ....great job brother
Lol Made myself nervous after watching it
Beautiful job, but I still prefer factory short bed trucks, never liked long beds, not many people do.

Thank You sir. Fleet may be different, I’ve never shortened an Apache fleetside.
Are you going to have the drive shaft rebalanced

I did not know that at 6:11.
Nice work sir 👍
Are you going to use the same bed you should have showed us how you slid it in
Will this work on a 57
Working alone, does have its challenges Chuck. Glad you pulled it off unscathed. Nervous moments.
Thank You sir. I freaked out while I was editing after noticing the precarious situation on the jackstands 😅
Amazing
Proof that one man can!
💯 %
Great job! Sweet looking rides

One more question are the cabs from the 11/2 tons 57 trucks the same size as the 1/2 ton
Will this work an a 57 long bed Chevy
One more question are the 1 1/2 ton 57 cabs doors fenders the same as the 1/2 ton 57 cabs
Hey Chuck, I have a 59 gmc big back window long bed fleet side, does the same hold true on the amount to cut and location?
hey Chuck, do you have to cut anything off the back?
Bob Bradford Put the short bed on and it will dictate the little bit you got a chop off the back yes
Pro tip: no square corners round them
