Are you welding with solid wire and argon, flux core with argon, or gasless flux core wire? I don't see a bottle so here's a tip that might help you out. If you're using gasless flux core wire take that cone off your gun. You don't need it and you can see much better without it. Also turn your wire speed down or your voltage up slightly it will reduce the popping slag that's burning your arm
Wow. I am refreshing my truck, but even after getting the cab and frame off it is nowhere near as bad as anything I've seen here on UA-cam. You guys are amazing. This would have scared me off....
That frame needed a lot more repair than that one section. I hope they replaced those cross members and fuel tank support before putting the bed back on
So how long was this process I have a 2006 Silverado in the same predicament but I have cracks on both sides what type of metal did you use and where did you get your welding machine from

That will only last for awhile you should have cut the rust out first

These frames were garbage my friend has one like it that thing is patched in so many places its probably unsafe 😂
