You are so right about the importance of size. In our 70’s. We just purchased two Stressless models. One in a small size for my 4”10 wife. The small size is giving her comfort she never had before. Mine is on order from Norway.

The power recliner in this video is the Lancer Recliner. I have linked it for you down below. As for a recommendation, it all depends on what you're looking for and which chair fits your body. I bought the lancer recliner and it just kills my neck. the chair feels completely different from what I tested in the store. I wish I could return the chair, but lazyboy only gives you 3 day return window, because they know if you try your chair longer, it will cause you pain. Basically, lazy boy DOES NOT stand behind their product. You guys should buy a recliner from anywhere else that has at least a 7 day return policy. I regret buying lazyboy. Of course you'll get an answer! Hey Ralph, you might find a few recliners that are made for a tall user. Check out the link below for a few different suggestions for 6'3" and above. The Astor might be the best choice as it is the tallest chair made by La-Z-Boy. Let me know if this helps and if you have any other questions shoot em our way! www.furnitureacademy.com/best-la-z-boy-recliners-for-extra-tall-body-types/
@@hacksaw413 The Astor is a great recliner. It's part of the summit series so it comes standard with 5 support springs, and two extra inches on the base.
Make the frame out of aluminum. The curved parts like armrest from stamped sheetmetal, like old car fenders. Why wood? Make the back from 4 seperate cushions that can be adjusted by adding or removing stuffing, zipper access, like Lane used to. Use springs and batting and foam, not just foam. Make the seat cushion go all the way to the back UNDER the bottom of the seat back. Delete the rocking and swivel, or make them selectable. Most important, make a seperate manual adjust for footrest and back. One on each side or one lever longer than the other. I would pay $3000 for that.
Well, I just went recliner shopping. I need to replace my cushy old "back killer" as I've aged. Still a great chair for a young person! I went from store to store. I needed one with lumber support and enough firmness to support the rest of my spine. I tried dozens and dozens of chairs at different stores. I found exactly one that met the criteria. It is $1500.00. It is what it is! I'm not going to buy the wrong chair to save a buck. May as well keep what I have.
So I need some help. I'm a big man who has a tendency to destroy furniture over time. What am I looking for to hold up to me? I'm 6'4" and 390lbs. Even at my leanest the best I got is 315lbs.
Hey Bob! La-Z-Boy only guarantees their recliners up to 350lbs unfortunately. If you're going to consider any LZB recliners then you should take a look at the Astor or the Redwood. I’m looking for a better quality rocker than this Joshua before my one month is over. Suggestions? This recliner is not comfortable, even though it fits my size. I want manual operation.

Then they will show you in a 3D planner what the space will look like with all the furniture in it. That way you can see if something is too big or two small for the room before you buy it. This is a lot like the firearms industry...show 2 1911's, one is $499, other is $1,599 - but when you feel them, try them in person, understand the difference in materials, where it's made - all clear why the cost is higher, but websites really struggle with that.
If you want your chair to last longer, just buy a $40 slipcover that you can wash monthly and replace if it rips, instead of spending thousands of dollars for "stronger" leather.
