Has anybody noticed that in standard media we frequently read the phrase 'anti-Israel' but we never read fhe words 'anti-Palestine' ?
It's the subtle framing that sways opinions.
2 weeks ago at dinner a neighbour asked me "why are most Irish people anti-Isrsel?".
I replied to her that Irish people are not anti-Israel, they are pro-Palestine, and asked her to think about the difference.
Again, it's all about the framing.
It's "antisemitism" and "Islamophobia."

Antisemitism is a very powerful word, and we should use it only when we encounter true antisemitic behaviour, to call out, shame, and isolate those who espouse hatred of Jewish people.
The misuse and overuse of the word severely weakens its power when we need to deploy it properly.
Criticism of the actions of the Israeli state, as a state subject to the same international laws as every other state, is definitively NOT antisemitism.
I know dozens of Israeli Jewish people who, for decades, have actively protested the insanity of occupation.
Ditto in the Jewish diaspora.

In Gaza, they have banned supplies and controlled the border, the air and the sea ... They have kept Gaza as an open air prison, with 60% of the youth unemployed, 50% food insecure, 80% living off government charity...
Gaza has been hell for the past decades and people in Gaza jailed in.

If you review history dating back to the 1890s, Theodore Hertzel who many regard as the founder of Zionism clearly stated he wanted to form a COLONY for Jewish people in Palestinian land, and began receiving support from British leaders at the time. Long before the Holocaust, there were multiple documented cases of Palestinians being evicted from their land and killed. Anti-zionism simply means you are anti-colonialist. That is why many Jewish individuals have declared themselves to be anti-zionist. Zionists have long used the anti-zionist=antisemitic argument as a means to silence any criticism of Israeli policies and get away with murder. It should be noted Zionism is a political and philosophical ideology, not an ethnicity or religion.
