Happy post Valentine's Day! 💘 Ben & I are back for our annual relationship Q&A! We cover a lot of juicy q's in this one. Also we'd love to know what new personality trait you discovered last year.
A new personality trait I discovered was being more vocal about my own opinions. As a journalist, it felt wrong to invoke my opinions in writing and speaking publicly. But all of the social unrest in 2020 convinced me to speak loudly about causes I care about. Finding and using your voice can be so empowering. 🦋
I love how you two look at each other when you're listening to the other person answer the question. You can tell there is so much love and respect!!! I LOVE YALL
I really appreciate your honesty regarding why you guys decided to try couples therapy. I feel like there's a stigma around it, like you're failing or something, but it's definitely quite the opposite! Love your love. Thank you.
Agreed! We like to plan a session if there's a conflict that we can't resolve on our own. It's something we love to do to maintain the health of our relationship.
@@imjennim to follow up, how would you recommend going about finding a couples therapist or finding someone who was a good fit? I think it’s hard to find recs from word of mouth unless it’s from close friends who were aware of the conflict at hand.
I really appreciate the transparency about having rough patches in a marriage. Makes the idea of therapy and needing help seem normal and acceptable :”)

My husband and I recently introduced date night at home and it's changed the game. We're in lockdown but rather than use that as an excuse we still make an effort, including getting dressed up. I realised that being in lockdown it's easy to conflate always being around each other with spending quality time together. We're also working through a rough patch and it's done a lot for bringing us together and rekindling that intimacy
Totally!! Even if we're just having dinner at home, we try and dress up a bit for one another. I'm so glad you guys are carving out some quality time and rediscovering that spark.
Hey Jenn! Just wanted to know that you were one of the reasons why I started seeing a psychologist last year. Sometimes you just need one friend to start and you realise whatever it is they’re doing could work for you too! I’m so much happier as a result - so thank you 🥰 ps. 5 of my friends have started therapy after hearing about my experiences! This is your butterfly effect!
@Armando Aranda as far as I remember from previous videos she can speak Korean at basic level and is taking lessons to improve. if my memory serves me well, I might be wrong.
let's be real y'all. the real sponsor isn't betterhelp, but the amazing lint roller. all jokes aside, love the honesty that both of you harbor together. thank you for always valuing authenticity and sheer human-ness.
@@imjennim omg I wishhhh you two would!!! I know it's a whole other bunch of effort but your conversation dynamic is great and you both have really nice voices 😅
I love how you guys are so genuine and real about the struggles in the relationship, but the love and respect for each other is there through the whole video. I related so much!! Love this video 🥰
For me this past year I’ve developed a greater sense of my personality overall. I went back to therapy in august of last year and I’ve gained so many insights on why I behave certain ways, why my thought patterns are the way they are, and learning how to lean more on my healthy part instead of my unhealthy part. I really appreciate how open you are about therapy so more people can see that it’s nothing to be ashamed of ♥️ it’s helped me more than I can say
My husband is exactly like Ben- loves talking, chats with everyone and has to say goodbye to each individuals.. sometimes drives me crazy but that’s what I love about him too. Such a caring and loving person 🥰
I always look forward to these videos from you two~ Absolutely love how open and honest you were when answering the questions, and how supportive you are of one another ☺️
When Jenn said "compatible expectations," my mind was BLOWN. Such a great way to put it - relationships work if we agree with what to expect! Also, Ben's joke about Jenn's top - " lint rolling it til there's nothing left - got me laughing throughout the whole video LMAO
During quarantine, my work was significantly reduced, so I turned to social media which I had been doing as a hobby. I worked to build my personal brand and in doing so, I became an extrovert where I was an extreme introvert who were quiet and shy. I now am unafraid to speak up my mind and people such as you Jenn, have been my inspiration!:D
The 'you're going to have conversations where one of you is drunk and the other is going to the gym' is so true! So funny to hear how similar other people's LDRs have been to your own when at the time it feels like other people don't really understand it
Over the past year through quarantine I’ve developed the art of letting go. So many things were uncertain and out of control and I was such a control freak and a planner that initially it was so hard for me, but as time went on, I began to see the beauty in not always have a plan or knowing where things will go and just trusting the process and focusing on what I can actually stay in control of which is myself and what I put out into the world around me.
I laughed so much about having a dog during intimacy. Well, I started having some little fence to stop my dog from getting to the door because she will scratch so hard. And this has been helping a lot even when there’s no fence, she doesn’t scratch anymore. I think it trained her to be on her own even when I am at home.
Thanks for doing this Q&A, Jenn and Ben! The "dry spell" especially is a big thing for long-term relationship. Having that communication like you guys said is super helpful. Communication is key! ❤
"Depending on my mood, It's quite an effort to speak" - I can totally relate!! And- "Can we leave?!?!" Hahaha. Thanks for your honesty. Also the way you and Ben look at each other while the other speaks - swoon 🥰
I feel that I've gotten a lot more introspective over the quarantine! Being stuck at home, cut off (physically) from friends, and pretty much forced to sit with my thoughts and feelings more than I ever have pre-pandemic really had me confronting a lot of things about myself that I've never been this fully aware of ❤️
I related so much to your point about being more impatient and Ben being chatty. My boyfriend is always very chatty (and honestly that's how we met), but I've always misconstrued his chattiness as flirtatiousness. So it has caused me to feel a little bit insecure sometimes in the past. But the more I get to know him and the more he includes me in his conversations, the more I realize it's just the friendly, warm-hearted person he is :)
Jenn, this is probably my favorite video that you guys have made together because of how vulnerable it is! You've never talked about intimacy on your channel before and I'm really glad you guys shared some perspective on that; it's definitely something long-term couples go through and isn't talked about enough. Seriously feels like you and your channel have grown so much more "mature" over the years. Love it!!
Actually it's kind of funny because my boyfriend and I have switched personalities really throughout our 2 year relationship. When we first met I was extremely outgoing, extroverted and optimistic, and he was extremely pessimistic and introverted. Since being in quarantine and living together, our personalities kind of meshed together and then swapped. It's been very interesting to watch and experience.
I’ve been following Jenn and Ben ever since their earlier days and they are literally my favourite couple. The way they understand each other, have boundaries, their openness about their vulnerabilities etc. really give me perspective as to what a healthy relationship should look like.
Jen, me and my fiancé definitely relate when it comes to Ben being in a band! My fiancé is in a band too and was worried I wouldn’t stay because of all of the shows, practices, rehearsals, you name it! But I think sticking with him regardless of the crazy musician schedule showed him I’m in it for better or for worse 😂
omg your relationship is so much like my parents like my mom is straight forward and doesn't like waiting for my dad to say goodbye to everyone and chatting for hours w/ random people and I love that
One tip for people in long distance relationship is also to have your own personal friend group or personal goals. I was a victim of relationship anxiety and learnt the hard way but having your own engagement activities really really help minimize your dependence on your partner.
Loved the part about figuring out analogies for how you both process emotions (oven vs. popcorn). This whole video is so helpful - thank you for sharing this.
Loved hearing your ideas on these questions! Jenn, I followed your videos on UA-cam from my college days (your thrifting days). Now I am also married and going through the same stages that you are going through. I am turning 30 this year and I am so happy to be growing up together with you!
For your dog issue: Crate training is key for ALL moments where you want your dog to be independent! It builds their confidence too to be comfortable being alone, which is super important now that we are home 24/7 during the pandemic.
the question abt getting insecure/lonely in a LDR really hit home but in a good way. It gave alot of insight but it also allows me to look at my own LDR. I just really appreciate you guys being honest and transparent about that part of your relationship
@@imjennim Yes, it actually seems that is an unconscious way to grow, that we are attracted to the same things that can challenge us :) So from that point of view is an opportunity :D
Jenn is the true embodiment of Virgo energy and Ben is a true libra with not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings 🤣 Great couple! I've been an OG since the platform boots and beanie hats in 2012
Jenn and Ben are honestly such great individuals, but together, they're truly a force of nature. thank you for always being so honest with us viewers! we really appreciate your authenticity, both the pretty and the ugly x
The chemistry between the two of you is undeniable! I always look forward to this yearly q&a's.Thank you so much for sharing unnie! You both are an inspirational couple. Love you both! ❤
Can totally relate to Jenn's " Let's get to the point" lol boyfriend does same thing Ben does and it irks me sometimes but I do admire how warm and thorough he is. One year strong!
Thanks, Jenn, for sharing that you both went to couples therapy to help save your marriage. It feels like such a relief to know that even couples like yourself that are so in love go through serious problems too. When I have problems with my bf, I feel like maybe it's a sign that we're not meant for each other. Because we don't often hear of happy couples having real issues. So thank you again for being real and honest. It helps a lot! ❤️❤️
I love the moment where they talk about how their connection blossomed into something they didn’t originally expect! I can definitely relate. My fiancé and I didn’t expect to be together long-term - I was deep into planning my undergrad thesis, and he just got out of a relationship - but here we are. ❤️
Having been in a long distance relationship-- it’s never easy but with the right person i think it deepens a connection like nothing else. There’s a pro about being able to be independent and grow as individuals that strengthens a union. I love my partner even more all this time later because i’ve seen them grow with and without me and we were able to come together through all this time
Love watching these videos and absorbing realistic tips for my own relationship ♥️ so helpful and you keep it fun and light, with more serious topics 🙌🏼
I've been watching your channel for years and years now and you two are an inspiration, a complete power couple but still human, still down to earth. I can't express enough how much this amazing candid relationship advice means to me. It's a breath of fresh air to hear people around my age approach a serious relationship with such honesty and love and understanding. I really hope to be in such a strong solid relationship someday. ❤️
I learned about couples therapy from you two and it really really helped my bf and I mend our relationship when we did couples therapy last year. being with him for seven years now, doing long distance since covid started, I've learned how to deal with LDR and be okay with it and I feel like we've both grown individually and its so incredibly amazing. Also learned that distance really makes the heart grow fonder
The way you both communicate is just so inspiring and one can learn so much from it. Not just only for a relationship but also friendship. Learned a lot. Thank you for sharing ♥️
Thank you for covering such juicy questions! Its so amazing / admirable how we can feel the love you guys have for each other through the screen 😍 relationship goalsss
I just love the way your content has been more vulnerable and honest. And as someone who is recently married / in a long term relationship girrrrl these question really resonate!
Aww, I love you two. Whenever you both are in a video together I remember how cute your relationship is. This advice was actually quite timely and relevant because I’m in a LDR right now and it’s a struggle sometimes because I do want more communication but the other person is “busy”. But I do want to continue trying with them because we’re in love. The goal is really to be happily together like the both of you. Here’s to hoping for the end of the pandemic. Cute video!
This videos brings me so much joy. Seeing you two so open and vulnerable with wonderful advice really makes me proud I found your channel over ten years ago!
I get so emotional sometimes when you guys film Q&A vids because I feel the genuine and real and beautiful love you both have for each other and the conversations you guys have are so relatable. I have been in a long term almost 9 year relationship with my boyfriend and he suggested couple's therapy twice now but I wasn't always too sure about it because I always thought to myself like "what if we end up breaking up?" then that would've been useless...lots of negatives but thank you for continuously showing me that it's okay to feel like that sometimes and how great couple's therapy is.
Two beautiful inspiring souls💙 Theraphy def changed my life as well and I am so grateful to have you guys as a company on UA-cam. :) Cheers for the enrichment life for you all!
The cheeki question LMFAOOO I can relate. I've just started to spend my time in my room and leaving my dog in the living room by herself everyday, without checking on her, and now she doesn't even like staying locked in the room with me 😂😂😂
I love It. You guys really are an example as a couple on how your love endures no matter situations and differences. God bless you and continue keeping you such united and lovely you are. Marriage is a challenge and as a family also It is an important society's foundation.
thank you for this video!!! long term relationships and living together can be hard, and the fact so many people don't talk about the rough patches and dry spells can make it hard and make it feel as though you're failing. Appreciate the honesty and the lovely video- you're a fab couple
Love it. Planning is key. It's funny how we always try to meticulously plan our careers and our business, but rarely think of doing this for our relationship
Our dog actually HATES when we‘re intimate, I guess he thinks my boyfriend is hurting me 😂 So he‘ll always hide under the bed and afterwards he‘ll cautiously creep out and look at me all pitiful like „are you ok mommy??“ 😂
My soon to be-husband was also just supposed to be my summer fling and now we've been together almost 6 years and are getting married in 5 months 💁♀️ we had long distance for 2 years as well!

Aww thanks Blessing! n_n
I literally can't help smiling from sttart to end i love you two i love how you two look like when you are with each other
I'm seriously obsessed with your new haircut! Always love listening to you talk and sharing a part of your life with us 😍
Can totally relate to Jenn's " Let's get to the point" lol boyfriend does same thing Ben does and it irks me sometimes but I do admire how warm and thorough he is. One year strong!
This haircut on Jen is so adorable, glamorous, and gorgeous. I love it, I wish I looked this classy and elegant with this haircut 😍
The whole video was so raw and JENN-uine😉 Love that Ben and Jenn weren’t afraid to answer those questions nor hesitant.
Love from Scotland🧡
Finally a juicy Q&A that’s actually juicayyyy! Loved it thanks for being honest gal!
I love how Ben has embraced this on-screen presence 😅
Not me a 17 year old who’s never been in a relationship watching this👁👄👁
This a good video to watch to one day being in a healthy long term relationship 😁
I'm 14 HAHAHAHA
For real tho lolol but they're so cute and relaxing to watch 🥺
25 year old here who's never been in a relationship 😭😭😭
“Wow this is rlly helpful and insightful” - me, a single 25 yr old 👁👄👁
Byee😭😭
We have to put our puppy out into the living room during “date night”. We usually try to keep him entertained with a bone or food 😂
It's great that you're doing it while he's still a puppy!
My dog was in the room watching 👀 during the conception of both my kids 🥴
Hahahaha! Ben and I are both howling!
Jenn is so beautiful I couldn’t keep my eyes off her and her smile this entire video.
Your haircut is so whimsical!! Love the vid!
The tea was HOT in this one!
Two beautiful inspiring souls💙
Theraphy def changed my life as well and I am so grateful to have you guys as a company on UA-cam. :)
Cheers for the enrichment life for you all!
The cheeki question LMFAOOO I can relate. I've just started to spend my time in my room and leaving my dog in the living room by herself everyday, without checking on her, and now she doesn't even like staying locked in the room with me 😂😂😂
Could watch these weekly tbh! So great to hear you discuss things so openly and maturely ❤️
I can’t explain how much I love this!!!!
I loved this candid talk and really made me look at my own relationship, in a good way.
Thank you both for this! Hope you do this again!
I love It. You guys really are an example as a couple on how your love endures no matter situations and differences. God bless you and continue keeping you such united and lovely you are. Marriage is a challenge and as a family also It is an important society's foundation.
the way you guys listen to each other speak!!! I love all of this. super positive and helpful! I just turned 4 w my boyfriend 🤍
thank you for this video!!! long term relationships and living together can be hard, and the fact so many people don't talk about the rough patches and dry spells can make it hard and make it feel as though you're failing. Appreciate the honesty and the lovely video- you're a fab couple
This was such an adorable video! Loved these tips and seeing your relationship flourish in it's own way! xo
Thanks Amanda!
Love it. Planning is key. It's funny how we always try to meticulously plan our careers and our business, but rarely think of doing this for our relationship
Agreed!!
i watched it with a big fat smile on my face and i was shook when i realized that 16minutes have past so fast
Ahhh congratulations!! xx
