I find it hillarious how I was the first to share the entire playthrough of this awesome game on youtube, and now (after recently watching the views rocketing up on my vids) I find multiple playthroughs of it uploaded to youtube... (and I own the real cartridge)
A new translation at romhacking!
I learned about this game on an episode of Game Sack not too long ago. Took me two tries to get it (I first ordered a weird board game RPG thing based on the anime) but I got this not too long ago. Very solid. Worth the effort.
I do think this game is quite good, short but entertaining. Zenki plays quite well, his attacks are quick and responsive, the gameplay is there (what else needs to be said about the gameplay), it offers a reasonable but manageable challenge, the final boss was definitely the hardest fight in that game par none for me because I kept dying right up to my last life. Graphics are good, making use of the SFC’s colour palette capabilities (32,768 colours baby! Beat that PCE and MD, but then again PlayStation and Saturn beat it when you add that up by at least 488.2 according to the calculator), colourful transparent laser blasts and explosions unlike Kaiser Sigma’s laser which is only one solid colour, beat that Sigma from X3! And of course, the music is quite good and catchy. I consider this game a gem. Go play it if you have the means to do so. Hey, does an English Patch exist for this game? That would be awesome if there was.
A lot of RPG games and games with anime did not make it to the USA of have localization. This one looked promising
6:45 look at the amount of perspective line-scrolling in both the sky and cloud layer here. And here too 15:37 More SNES games could have done with that level of faux parallax in the backgrounds imo. Also, the presentation in this game, especially the intro and end cutscenes, is just brilliant.
Can you explain why this game is letterboxed if the snes hardware has superior display features?

Even though this game has cool soundtrack and gameplay, I have to admit that seeing Zenki without his Vajra signature attack (you know, that elbow spike) kinda disappoints me...

@RocMegamanX Generally I am more of a traditional coin op kinda gamer, often-times I find story is not important to me... It's about getting good bang for your buck ! I very much enjoy the game and got an idea about what was going on in the story here in the super famicom game, eg: girl controls powerful zenki... but that left a couple of questions I couldn't quite understand so In this case, wanting to get a better idea about the story, I simply watched an english subtitle of the anime.

Think not. There are Chinese Repros out there...they never have those chips.

I think you only need to destroy the red one, but they all contain items.
