This is probably one of the greatest solos ever recorded.
This is when I first met him and John Jordan. I was on the road for 24 years and our paths crossed many times and in a 4 month period I got to see him 6 times in 5 different states. The man is a monster and is not afraid to go out on a limb. Totally unpredictable. His brain is 2 milliseconds ahead of his hands. Awesome improv skilled. There have been a few shows where I did not want to listen to any music for a few days. I've taken some people to shows and they couldn't take it and they had to leave.
I'm so happy this video exists. This is when I personally discovered Chris in a small blues bar in Kanssas City. It wasn't long before he was returning and playing 3 or 4 night consecutive sold out shows and I attend every one.. Every show had its own unique moments and highlights. John Jordan on bass playing a 5 string before he went on to paly a 6 and 7-string bass. The original drummer before he endured injuries from the band's van crashing in the snowy mountains. I introduced Chris to all my friends and I was giddy to see their jaw dropping reactions to his powerful and passionate performances., I was still learning to play guitarr and he both inspired me and also made me want to put it down because he was so talented.
This guy's really the best. The last time I saw him, he played in a small club, to what had to be a disapointedly small crowd. And yet he played his ass off, gave 150%. I spoke with him, he was truly upbeat,,,we talked about the last time he had played the club, llike he was a friend. I'll be there the next time he is in my area.

Great video and sound quality. A great example of how nasty and wicked Duarte can be. Duarte started out as a jazz guitar player and was also ferocious playing with a dude named Junior Medlow. They played some psychedelic jazz soul rock. Saw them a few times at a great little bar called Waves on Westheimer in Houston. Hope all is well with CD!
