We enjoy watching you work Kyle because you color outside the lines.
Anyone else rooting for the glove box door?
Way outside the lines. Love it!
And the spiny do-dad hanging down from the dash.
If only he had some green tape or something to hold the glove box door in the upright and secured position..."REWRITE! Continuity, make-up, wardrobe, tape, let's break for lunch and kitty snacks...
Oh man i thought it was just me with glove box door. Put a piece of tape on it before it scalps you!
I've been rooting for the glovebox door since day 1
You are hands down my favorite Canadian hobo auto repair channel.
Kyle is bringing back grunge :)
That's his good coat, too.
It is always amazing to me how a little sheet metal and lots of talent can make such a change to a rusty mess that most people would throw away.
Love watching how you fabricate your panels. And your way you entertain us. Cheers ❤✌️👍🇺🇸
You really screwed up! That repair quote was in Zimbabwean dollars. That's about 5 cents Canadian.
Oh well, my loss!
For $52k you can buy a lot of Bondo! (And maybe a few cat treats) By the way, your cats have been emailing me again trying to get me to send them illicit cat toys. By the way, that new hammer is Tonya Harding approved.
Great job Kyle you make a better fitting panel than the off shore jobs make out of thinner metal. Nice work and great build coming along nicely be ready for SEMI next year.
Those kick panels look amazingly similar to the state of Texas. Was that intentional? Best fabra ma doodling video I've seen. Nice work Kyle.
That's a nice hammer. Made in Japhands...lol I like Carl he's a great guy, he too does good things metal. You guys should get together for a collaborative.
Sheet metal is looking good! Nice delivery from Carl too.
Funny entertaining and informative. Kyle provides it all.
Another cool video ... exceptional work as usual ... you deserve good tools ... anticipating the next one ...
Thankfully because of my awesome computer skills I was able to rewind and replay the video to fill in the missing tapping footage. Playing in slow motion helps a lot if you are at that skill level. I'm surprised you and Karl don't know each other. I, like most Americans thought all Canadians knew each other. I learn a lot from your videos. I save all of them in case the cats take over the world. I'm really looking forward to the chop. Thank you for your time.
Yeah it's hard to believe we've never met considering us Canadians all live in the same igloo village
I think that you could almost build one of these truck cabs from scratch, you almost have. As a business venture you could sell paper patterns of the patch panels that you have made. That way you don't have to ship heavy metal patches. You could call your company "Kyles Cabs". I did enjoy the panel that you made over the transmission. As a connoisseur of native dances, I did notice the Saskatchewan 2-step that you did to test it's strength. Have you had any formal training, or does it come naturally?
Yes, I think if you brought him a headlight ring, a radio knob, and a rotted piece of wood from the bed he could turn out a running driving truck.
Hi John! I learned my floor strength test from Fred Astaire
Nice work, Kyle. If I didn't know better, I might think you had done that before! And I'll bet you saved yourself about $51,500!
Blitzing along. Love the format. Only thing is, I have the distinct impression that if I was doing that, it would not go that fast. In fact, not only do you cut things quite accurately and fit them well, with nary an 'aw shit' or an 'uh oh!', but it seems to me that you are benefitting from some sort of time compression. Einstein said that in order to compress time as much as you appear to do, you would have to be zipping along at near light speed. Yet despite your quick work, I do not see any space ships in your shop. So it is a pleasant mystery. :) That cab is shaping up in a hurry.
Carl Fisher does amazing work! If you haven’t seen! Maybe you could collaborate with him and half ass garage! 🎉
Very nice tools!
Merry Christmas to you!
Also glad to see the floor come together! It’s going to be very nice!
Merry Christmas!
That was a really nice job making those floor pans. Cats seem to like the rustling paper sound. Poe looks right at home in that box. Looks like Edgar is taking turns being in the box. Cats love to play with paper. Thanks for another great video.
For Dec. 17 - Grievance: I have yet to see a chicken anywhere near the Chicken Truck. It just stands to reason, to me, that if the truck is being prepared for the use of chickens, they would want to see it being built and would be present - despite the danger of feather ignition during welding sequences.
That is all at this time. Stay tuned for anything further. Thank you.
Ooh! I know that hammer! Yes! "Proudly Made in Canada" by Japhands of 'Make It Kustom'. Love Carl's channel 😎
Proven by Kyle - 'The hammer will move metal.'
Ever seen a hammered chicken--they have a hard time trying to cross the road!
@@glennnickerson8438 - No! Is this upcoming in Kyle's new cookbook entitled 'Dented Dishes from the Bodyshop - and Other Culinary Delights'?
And ... [gasp] could it be why no chickens have come to see the Chicken Truck??? 😗
@@jimrky6062 😆
This is the hell we all live with.
What a transformation to that interior! You never cease to amaze me. Thanks as always.
Nice, floors are looking like they are worth at least $52k!
Those mother tucker hammers are the shiznit for sure! I almost bought one but they were sold out back when I looked, have to check again. Karl is another awesome metal working artist! Maybe a collaboration some day with him Aye?
"Rust free. Yes sir, the rust was free." Good one. 🙂
OMG, top of the line tools? Just great, now I gotta find me another body guy to watch using the same kinda junk I own! Very much enjoyed the replacement parts making and install.
Once there was a void and now it’s chuck full of steel! Amazing! Just a little curious about the bottom of the inner cowl panels. Maybe because you designed the floor panels, but did you reduce the radius on the bend and the angle of the bend as found on stock AD inner cowl panels? Wow, a Karl Fisher hammer and accessories! And the cats get a box. Karl lives 10 minutes from me, but that’s too far for some of his talent to rub off on me through osmosis.
Hi Paul! Good question, the cab is channeled 1", meaning the floor of the cab is now 1" higher, so I put a smaller radius in the bottom of the panel so the factory windlace/seal will still fit up to the inner door.
Thanks Kyle, you’ve brightened up my day when I was beginning to feel all was lost, hope our Christmas special is coming along well 👍
Thanks Billy! I'm glad to hear the show brightened your day!
Excellent fabrication skill as always.l.looking good and solid...❤
Fascinating, educating, cool build as f,,kinating,, 👍😎👍
Cheers Maestro K,, 🍻😋🤘
As per usual another great video, you cleaned up the floor and firewall nicely. I bet it felt good to cut out the floor bracing and not have anything move. You do amazing work with the limited space and tools you have, that shows me that you really are talented in what you do. I can’t wait to see the top chopped, also love the cats and how they do just being cats. Later
Vintage Wi-Fi sheet metal. Cool
Is Boyd dead?
Looking great. Thank You
Great work !!!!!
@@phooesnax Yep, he died in 2008..
I can’t understand why you guys are so driven to work yourselves to death when a few cut up tin cans with a judicious application of roofing tar makes a perfectly acceptable floorboard, and even increases the insulation for winter.
It's a sickness. ;)
JB Weld and a LaBlatts can works wonders too!
Kyle, you inspire us all! My Son and I are working on a 55 1st series which is not as bad as this one but pretty close! I've done bodywork for years but this is way more interesting than replacing parts on modern cars! Thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks Larry!
Can't stop watching your work !
Amazing !
Mr. Carter.... great show this week... I laugh at the $52,000 quote you got. I think that whoever this quoter was or is had too much sleep. Anyway great to see Karl pop up on the show... great guy....
Another outstanding job that makes my dabbling work look like a comedy show . You totally amaze me with your skills. I also watch Karl Fishers channel, another skilled metal fabricator who also makes some of his own tools and offers them for sale. He manufactures a planishing hammer that looks outstanding and well crafted. By the way still trying to master bull's eye pick lol looks good hang on wall it's made to impress lol catch you on the next one
Nice work there Kyle!! Your cats are hilarious!! Gettin in the box before you even get it empty!!
Yeah they are great comic relief!
Nice rendition of Flattley and the Irish step dancers on the Chevy cab floor! 🕴👯👯♂👯♂👯♀👯♀
I watch Japhands Customs channel also. Carl does great work too. He's very good at new construction and tool usage. You shine with repair and de-rusting vehicles. Both of your channels compliment each other, I know I have learned a lot from both of you.
Mike Bello is a beast as well.
Complement ;)
I've seen an add recently for an assortment of bits both drill bit and tap in one. Maybe they've been around but new to me. Seems like a time saver if you have the space on the backside to use something of that length to drill and tap a hole all in one step.
for a minute there I thought that there was a new puppy in that box for the kitties to play with .they have been so bored since they destroyed the last one ,but alas it was just a hammer .Good on you that's a mighty fine tool it will go a long ways towards taking out your frustrations out on metal and humans that get in your space .And the best thing of all it leaves no marks there for no evidents.
Great work, Kyle. It's cool watching all the pieces come together here.
I've been learning SO much from you!! Thanks. You make it look easy.
The tools look special much better than the other suppliers.. Nice finish on the plug/spot welds. 8^)
Kyle, I listen to your words very carefully because what you say compared to what you don't say are often important. You've mentioned that you'll probably put this chicken truck project outside when you're bored or drawn to something else. So why let it rust? What could a couple of Rustoleum rattle cans of Chicken Yellow cost? It seems to me that a couple of layers of Chicken Yellow on the raw steel (both inside the cab and under it) could help preserve it for a couple of years or until you've decided to return to it?
Oh I would definitely prime over the bare metal before it goes outside. I don't enjoy sanding rust off!
The time is the same all over the world it's only the clocks that are different. keep up the good work Kyle, lets hope that truck turns out the way you envisioned.
Really enjoyed the panel fabrication. amazing job such talent. I love your cat's, God bless
Gee Kyle, I think 52,000 from Boyd Coddingtons shop and only a 3 year wait time is pretty good. But then, it's probably gone all to hell since he died back in 2008. Gotta say this chicken truck has me sitting waiting for more. If you're not careful it's going to become solid and a thing of beauty :)
Kyle I can relate to rust free. I had some friends of the fairer sex that were carefree they didn't care and well at least it was free...Sorta.👀PS I hope you and the cats have a wonderful Christmastime!🌲Cheers,Kelly
Merry Christmas Kelly!
Fantastic work! You are the best cancer repairman on the internet ! You give the rest of us hope for our projects. Looks like you can put that $52,000 back in the bank.
Wow ! Talk about whistling in those floor pans . I’m
So excited for this project bud
Thanks Dean! I'm excited about it too!
You know how it is. For years I sat in the back row at the salvage yard. I dreamed about Kyle. He was the only one that ever noticed me. Are you kidding? He’s the only one that ever walked the back row at the salvage yard. I remember the first time he paused and looked twice. As I was slowly sinking into the ground. Disappearing. Then one day he started poking around some. I was pinching myself. Could it be? The crusher was ever getting closer. Kyle. The man of my dreams was taking me home! The girls all get prettier at closing time. Crushing time. Can hardly believe it. I am going to be a famous custom! Me. A back row heap of rust. Haha! Look at me now! ❤
Haha fantastic comment! I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happened
Hello!!!!! The highlight of my life. I'm number 1!!!!!!
Congratulations!
Your comment has been reported and deleted.
Great job. I already like all the work on to this old truck, the single video montage is nice to sum up all the work. I like the music.
Hi Kyle. Outstanding job ! Glad you found yourself some tools. Give the Cats a treat for me. As always liked and shared. All my very best.
Thanks Bobby from me and the cats!
Wouldn't mind having the mother tucker and radius gauge myself, couple back burner projects they would be great for.
You and Karl are at the top of my must watch list.
I like that you followed the lines of the door onto the kick panel. Very OCD😉
Oh that's actually the way Gm did it haha
Nice job on the panels there, Kyle. It occurred to me that a pedal powered bead roller might be a good idea. Probably wouldn't work. The dream sorry chicken truck is beginning to take shape.
Hey Mart! I think a pedal powered roller could definitely work with some imagineering. The trouble is, I spend all my time struggling to build junk vehicles instead of putting my time into building tools that will make my life easier.
Another great video I missed the classical music .
As far as I'm concerned your work is at least as good but usually better than "pro" bodyshops.
And without the ego, just a genuinely good guy.
Thank you!
I just want to say that I'm really looking forward to the "Abandon the project and dump it outside" episode. I think it will be some of your best work... Also, there was a ten-minute ad for some Canadian hammer company that UA-cam wouldn't let me skip... you might want to check on that. Cheers!
Point of no return!
The guy from the ad is worse than that Sham-Wow guy. I wish there was a way to ban him from the internet
😆😆@@CarterAutoRestyling
Guess I’m probably the only one who doesn’t want to see the roof chopped 😢
Nice one kale as usual and a new Tanya harding hammer cheers from the UK 🇬🇧
You should have considered the mad bad firewall made of perforated metal. It allows you a very fast recognition of flames under the hood. An early warning system.
Lol.
Wow two cat scans on the body hammer. Great job on the cab. You are very talented. Merry Christmas to you
Merry Christmas!
Cat scans are better than scat cans.
I see you have 1 of Karl's hammers and some more goods.i love and watch everything he does.i learn from both of you and love both of your shows.im building a 50 panel, and a 54 pu,48 Coe 4 Dr crewcab ,46 fleetmaster, and a dozen more ts,As,hearse, thank God I've, got 4 kids to Finnish them
I've been using my mother tucker pattern hammer for a job i'm doing on heavier stainless steel. You'll find it works very well. Giving predictable results with the extra mass. Boy the cost of your sheet metal out in Saskatchewan must be crazy. $49,000.
Poe is one contented cat curled up in the box.👍🏴
She sure is!
Every few years, the bread baking folks reduce the size of their bread loaves. This is to keep the same price per loaf by saving on bread input costs. They discard the older, larger breadpans as scrap. It is a great opportunity to salvage the pans and repurpose into floorpans for Ur Poulet Project. Could save you $10,000 in material costs, what with the ever skyrocketing price of new steel. Ask for the baker's dozen discounts and save even more!.. Thanks for sharing your build.
Allan and Poe are some what interested in the tool and such. It's always about the packaging and of course the BOX! I take it you also follow Vice Grip with Derek and Rusty Beauties with Matt. Maybe Sleeper dude? We will check out your Sunday live show.
This chicken truck is coming together nicely. Now that you have the Mother tucker you will really go to town.
But Kyle look on the bright side, with the $2,499.63 you saved you now could buy a pallet load of body filling putty and some BC Flexible Chrome.
Having dealt with Texans.......... I'd say that was more a Texas rust free truck. Cali rust free trucks only have rust where you can't see it without getting on your knees. But, both of them are rust free!!!!! And your's too. Glad you remove all that rust free metal, so we have something to watch. The "show must go on".
I happy to see Allen and poe are so diligent in inspecting your mail nothing will get by them😊 thanks
Pretty snazzy.
Looks just like it grew there.
Looks pretty darn impressive with all that expensive fabrication put into it! Glad you saved a few grand so you could buy some new tools, next you could look at buying a somewhat professional jacket with your name on it.😊
😂. Why buy a new jacket if it will get shredded pretty quick? Personal experience.
@@47kb8all for that you tube professional look. His work is super awesome. New tools clean up the shop, and a new leather welding jacket.
Wny not just get the existing jacket monogrammed?
Dear Thor, Just like the cats, I love your new Hickory-Smoked Chicken Truck Knee-Whacker. I don't need one either but I may get a picture of one.
I love Karl's "japhands" channel. I think you guys could do an awesome collab, that or Halfass. You guys all make me proud you're Canadian.
"By George, the rust sure was free" 🤣🤣 And some of that 52k would have gone towards finding a actual rust free cab somewhere, no one else would have made the effort.
Good thing it's a popular model with repair panels available,eh?
Not even 90 seconds in and I've heard Ned Flanders and someone from The Fargo TV series..
Hi Kyle,
I just finished my after lunch coffee when I saw this video was available.
I was going to watch it later but my cat… the wiser one of the two of us… hopped up on my lap, trapping me in my chair.
So what choice did I have but to watch the video???
Nice step-dancing. Trying out for River Dance, Prairie Edition?
Live with Kyle on the 17th. There better be cats.
That bracket under the dash was spinning like the kid’s head in the exorcist. Thankfully no puking occurred.
Your cats are like my cat. Nosey and fearless when nosey.
Nice purchases.
Have a good week.
Hi Joe! I was using the Fred Astaire technique for checking the structural integrity of the floors
So much talent.
Impressive.
Fender swoop, door.
The truck will be low, so make the swoop solid, a part of the lower sill, and cut the door to open above it.
As long as it isn't too deep, or high, a person could easily step over it to get in.
The floor of the cab is already higher, so I think it would feel good getting in and out.
Wouldn't require acrobatics or contortions, and may actually improve the egress and ingress of the vehicle.
I do hope I am detailed enough that you can grasp what I'm seeing.
I miss Roy off of Boyds show, never much cared for the same old beach cruiser builds they did, but he had some talented builders. Your skills are on another level from them fake reality tv shows, also glad your doing a custom there are plenty of original builds in museums. Another great video and it looks like you QC department approve of the new tools.
Your skills are only surpassed by your attention to detail. We enjoy watching your build progress down here in PA.
If you extended those floor sections out 6'', you could wear your Gene Simmons KISS Boots while driving.
Man that Canadian/US currency exchange rate is getting out of hand! On another wish list - I was hoping you'd either put on your tap shoes to test out the transmission cover OR lay down some sand for some soft shoe... Whoops! Sorry, I didn't know you were packing hammer heat. I was just having fun!
I do actually appreciate the artistry and layout of the panels and bead rolled groove strengtheners. Almost a shame to cover it with carpet.
There are enough of us watching these videos… one of us should stand up and go fund me page to get Kyle an air compressor and a planishing hammer. I’d do it, but I’m a lazy scumbag.
That was not very subtle. Obviously somebody owes you money. You want them to imagine getting the crap beaten out of them with a hammer, including special attention to the knees. And then you escalate with a reference to throat slitting. I hope he just brings you the money. This has gone far enough.
Kyle, ur Inner Cowl Fab Work of the 53 truck is great. alot cheaper than what $52,000 was stated.
Fantastic job on that fabrication, looks amazing! Looking forward to the next videos, love this project.
Glad you could save all that money. Of course that 52k quote would have included 50k worth of bondo, so maybe it was just about an even trade. Wishing you and yours Happy Holidays! Cheers! 😎👍🛻🏁🏁🎄🎅🎁🎀
Looked like your crew approved of you Christmas gifts ! ! ! It's hard to demonstrate the striking power but we get the jest of the demonstration.
The transmission cover test was hilarious 😂😂😂
It's on Page 647 in the manual
Great vid Kyle! Proper cat content as well! Thank you my friend
Good progress. Hope Santa brings you a new work coat for Christmas 😊
For 52 grand they better be digging up Boyd
Well it was a fairly hefty price tag you put out for that repair, good thing you saved all that money by opting out on the much needed plastic surgery.
BTW the floor looks great!
You , on the other hand, .......uh ..... never mind....you know where this is going
Thank you Kyle. As always you are more than generous with a wealth of tips and tricks. Know that this information is being used, and is saving real projects from abandonment. I look forward to the future when the flood gates have opened for you, the rest of the world will wonder why you wear a tattered collar. Only the few will have had the privilege to watch your coat vanish like a slow burning fuse.
I really enjoy the progress on this truck. Yours is one of my favorite channels. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Bondo bondo bondo bondo! we're 4 bondo!
As a native of Southern California I can guarantee you that you were scammed. We charge double for that level of rust here on account of it being so rare.
*What is $52,000 Canadian Tire Money converted to USD?*
You sure make fast work of it!
