Karl still so happy to rewatch what you and Brent did to straighten the 35 out. Don’t think a thing could had made him happier. This was a lot of work on his part. Yes his project when the fire happened. Your a super young man to do all the things that I think has got him back to some normality. God Bless you Karl. It won’t be forgotten! 💯👊👍❤️

When I was a young boy right out of high school my friend and I open up a body shop. I didn't know anything about body work but replacing parts. Then when I got into fixing dents I amazed myself. Just kept on working with metal to try and get it as straight as possible then lay the mud down and sand block sand block came out better than factory. The painter gets all the credit not the guy that spent many many hours working the metal and body filler work.
Never dought yourself you put your mind and work to it you will be able to pull off most anything.👍🏽

This is absolute top tier level restoration skills. Impressive!
What strikes me is that wherever there was lots of deformation, where things collapsed and deformed under it's own weight, gives a perfect indication about where to add support structures to the body for a stiffer, stronger, better handling and safer car.

Hey Karl, watching this work from your point of view is just as much fun the second time. I love to watch you and Brent working together on a project vehicle. Friendship is a powerful thing. Metal that has gone through a fire looses it's "tension". So a lot of metal shaping has to be done to move those bulges and ripples out. Reduced tension is a bugger because the metal has less springback so it is easy to go to far and end up with "stretched "metal. Enjoyed the videos of you helping out Brent. Way cool! AL B.

Great work on that hopeless warped and softened metal. I have grafted a burned 36 Ford sedan floor to a rotted 36 Ford Cabriolet. That floor was soft on the part of the quarters at 8" above the quarters where I sectioned the burned sedan quarters to the non rotted Cabriolet. That's when I then found that the sedan quarters needed to be tilted in to meet the Cabriolet where I then hammer welded with a oxyacetylene torch as I did on the whole car. I did make some error because of the cabriolet cowl section being separated from the rear and floor of the sedan which should have been in a jig to force the back inner floor and secure it to the rear crossmember. The entire trunk opening was rotted around the channel which caused it to distort while I kept the door openings aligned.

This is the good part about it and everything else that got burnt being metal, most of it can be reworked and shaped back to usable, only parts I would have any issues with reusing would be suspension parts being weakened or brittle by the heat, but glad to see you guys keeping it and fixing it instead of scraping it all like a lot of people would do.
