Hands down, one of your best retrospectives yet! You really are something else and this video right here shows why you're one of my all time favorite content creators on this platform! Phenomenal job on this video, my friend! This game is a masterpiece, plain and simple. It incorporates the best elements of the original and Dark Moon to deliver a truly excellent game! The slam mechanic might be overpowered, but it's fun as hell to use! Garden Suites is one of my favorite levels, when I get the buzz saw I go wild cutting the room apart, like my inner child within me goes buck wild when I'm destroying stuff! This game is pure fun! I recently replayed the first and 3 back-to-back and while I have tons of nostalgia for the original, 3 just nails it outta the park and beyond! The Boo hunting in the first game is one of the most aggravating aspects of it! The Boo hunting is handled way better in 3. One thing I do wish there was and this applies to Kirby and The Forgotten Land: I wish there was more. It has a satisfactory amount of content, but the game is so good that after you complete everything, you wish there was more to do because you love the game so much and keep on playing. I would've loved a single player expansion to be added. I can always just replay the game again. But overall do agree with your takes on more options.
Yeah it's a really good game. It's also my first Luigi's mansion. I'm really impressed by how beautiful the game looks. After the first cutscene it took me a minute to understand that I could moove Luigi because I didn't see the difference between the cutscene and game play. Overall the game is fun and full off surprises, I really like the fights with the last 2 bosses and the pianist guy. I do wish money had a better purpose, you get so much coins but you can't do much with it. If we had an upgrade system to the poltergeist, that would not be an issue. It's the same thing with the gems, it's cool to collect them but that's the end of it. Also the game felt a bit too linear for my liking. For me this game is a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 which is an excellent score for my criterias (I consider BOTW to be an 8). I'm definitely hooked to play the older titles and Luigi's mansion 4 when it will release
@@Demeech I would love it. A collection of the first 2 games on the switch with improved graphics and maybe more content. But Luigi's mansion 2 was on 3DS I wonder how they could translate the dual screen on the switch, for this reason it might be difficult to do a remake of this game
As someone who loved LMDM, I got LM3 day one and absolutely loved it. However, I'm not the biggest fan of the combat system since even though there's more things you can do, the LM2 combat is much more engaging and challenging over satisfying. Also, scarescraper is a lot more single-player friendly in LM2 than in LM3. I suppose the reason lm3 combat is so easy is because it allows the player to focus more on the exploration and especially sucking everything up(they went HAM on that!). Although, cause of the combat, the missions allowing me to play my favorite parts of the game without having to wait for the more boring parts, and scarescraper being easier for solo, I find that i have an easier time replaying dark moon than 3.
i was just talking about this with friends the other day and wanted to drop this here. i know a lot of people prefer the original game, and you're obviously allowed to, but when i hear arguments about these modern games being bad because they're not the same, i have to raise an eyebrow i don't find the arguments against the modern ones all that convincing. the original game had great atmosphere, and Dark Moon and 3 are bad sequels by definition, but that DOES NOT equate to being bad games. what i think the most important thing is these two games attempted something new and, more importantly, i think they both succeeded, not did something like Sticker Star that fumbled the ball really hard but we all know that story. it may not be the same, but it 100% succeeds with what it wants to do instead, and i find those games an absolute delight to play through for those reasons, and i know a lot of people will hate me for saying this, but i do think there is a lot of nostalgia blindness for the original game. people will cling onto the first piece of media they see like a baby and never accept change. i'm guilty of this too. like i said, you're absolutely allowed to prefer the original, but i also think calling the next two games bad is a flat out wrong statement. and for the record, i do really like the original game. like, i've played that game 10+ times already, so i'm not speaking out of my butthole. if anyone wants to discuss i'll respond, but maybe not to everyone
To be fair I think the only reason Luigi's Mansion got remade on 3DS was because LM3 was already planned out and Nintendo didn't want the two titles competing.
I agree with literally everything you said in this video, except for one very small thing: Puzzles & Dragons + Super Mario Bros. is a straight up dumpster fire. That game literally had no reason to exist at all. Other than that, you said everything perfectly. Luigi's Mansion 3 is the peak of Next Level Games' repertoire for Nintendo and a perfect example of a Nintendo Switch game that is genuinely amazing in every aspect imaginable. I especially love how it retained King Boo's psychopathic personality from the previous game, cementing him as one of Nintendo's most monstrous villains. Truly a fantastic game in every sense of the word.

He shows up at the beginning of the game to put Mario, peach and the toads in paintings (which is getting super old by the way. It was cool in the first game and it was fine and dark moon but now I’m just starting to think he can’t do anything else) and then he just disappears until the final boss. In the first two games he was so confident of himself and has a real menace around him whenever he talked and that is completely gone in 3. In 3 he just acts pissed😂. Seriously go look back on king boos dialogue from the first game and dark moon and compare it to 3. It’s honestly embarrassing how much they messed up his character. I honestly think king boo should be retired as the main villain of the franchise because his whole trapping people in paintings stick is getting really old and because of how much 3 messed up his character but I doubt that’s going to happen
@@wubbers662 hi disagree. The actual Bossfight against Bowser is really easy. It is not hard. The only reason people like odysseys final boss so much is because of the ending where you possess Bowser and escape with him but that’s not part Bossfight its self so it doesn’t count
In my opinion, I’m personally okay with king boo being Pissed in Luigi’s Mansion 3. His plans had been foiled So many times. I would be pissed too if someone ruined my plans for the last time. Everyone has a breaking point. Even Villans themselves. It would be unrealistic if the villain never got pissed even after their plan was ruined for the 100th time.
@@superbrownsheep3777 I actually agree with you. The idea of king boo slowly going more and more insane every time he fails is actually really cool one. The problem is how it’s executed. I don’t think it was intentional for them to completely change his personality and if it was they did a very bad job at portraying that. Also at the beginning of the game king boo captures Mario, peach and the toads all when there sleeping but he doesn’t do that to Luigi just he just so he can have his grand entrance You would think after losing two times to the same guy he would cut the shit and lose the theatrics and it’s entirely because he didn’t capture Luigi while he was sleeping despite the fact he easily could’ve he was defeated for a third time. I know you can use the argument that if king boo had captured Luigi in his sleep the entire game wouldn’t have happened which is true but you could just rewrite the story a little bit to have it make more sense as to why he didn’t capture Luigi in the first place. In Luigis mansion 3 king boo is just pathetic imo
