  • Hey everybody welcome back to another Muddy Review, in this video we are covering the Velocity Systems (Velsys) / Mayflower 7.62x38 placard for plate carriers.
This placard is a really nice bit if kit, stitching is really superb and as expected from Velocity Systems/Mayflower. The AK magazines are able to be drawn smoothly and re-indexed. The GP pouches on the face of the magazine pouches are small but will hold mission essential kit that you may need and aren't large enough to overload with junk you won't need.
I purchased this placard off of eBay from the seller tacticaltraders and you can follow this link to pick up one of his remaining placards here:
    www.ebay.com/i...
You can also find this placard directly from Velocity Systems at their website here:
    www.velsyst.co...
These placards are avaliable in Multicam, Ranger Green, Coyote Brown, and Black, I really do recommend this Swift Clip placard for AK magazines as it's a great option for carrying your AK mags on any plate carrier that accepts Swift Clip Velcro based placards.
I hope this was an entertaining and enlightening review for you and you may have found a better solution for your AK magazine carriage needs. Until next time, thank you for watching and we will see you in the next one, take care.

It's a good placard for 7.62x39 for sure. However I think you should check out Wilde Custom Gears 7.62x39 mag placard. It is slimmed down and the mags fit so tight in the pouches compared to the velocity one which has way too much wiggle room in there when magazines are inserted.

@@Muddy_Reviews Also for 7.62x39 check out parashooter gear. They make ak mag placards as well. I have all three and I will say the wilde custom one is my all time favorite. No one is doing it better at the moment.

@@TJstrong11 parashooter gear is on my list, I have been wanting one of their AK placards for a minute and they are here in Texas Hill Country too so I want to support a local business.

    Would it fit SR25/G3/FAL mags?

The cells on this will be too deep for 20 round 7.62x51 NATO magazines. They might fit but you will absolutely need to put something in the bottom of the placard to rise the magazines up for sure. As soon as I can get the placard out of storage I will double check for you and respond again.

Thanks for the review! Any chance youve tried fit with 5.54 mags or kiwi inserts?

I have tried Haley insets and they didn't work the pouches were too loose.

Would two M4 magazines fit in each cell?

It does indeed fit 2 M4 magazines in each cell, just tried it with 2 G&G mid caps which are real 1:1 spec (or as close as an Airsoft AEG mag gets as far as Inhave seen) to a real M4 magazine. Both went into the cell and I was able to pull the shock cord tap over to secure them in. It was not able to fit 2 AK74 magazines though.
