Mellophonia is in Indiana, it is right across the street from me.
I think the fact that baritone/euph was left out of the reunion sort of shows how much it really is appreciated.

I marched mellophone my freshman year of marching band at Pedro Menendez High School & our awesme new band director is in drum corps & plays the mellophone & she is awesome!!!!.

i just switched to mellophone as an incoming freshman and i was pretty nervous but your video has helped me get more comfortable with it

I live far away from mellophonia but my band hall has a room where everyone knows its name. It’s called “The Brass Room” and the best part is that those “Winds that shall not be named” can’t go in there and it’s mostly those people that know nothing about us mellophonians.

So at senior night at my school, they listed off all of the seniors names and acheivements at a football game who were on the football team cheerleaders or the band. Well my section leader had gotten 1st chair euphonium at a midstate audition. When the announcer called this he said 1st chair euphoria
Hahaha this is great. I've always loved the mellophone out of all marching brass. I'm a pitster at heart but if I were to ever learn a brass instrument it would be mello!
Other sad things about being a Euph player: when a brass reunion is talked about, the Mellophone gets mentioned. But not us.

I've got a 40 year old mello that looks more like a French horn. Google 40 ear old mellophone and you would see the difference between old and new.

I'm a European mellophone player. I can assure you, we play it the same way. (Only the UK drives on the other side of the road)

It is in IN. In a small town about an hour away from Indy, at the smallest school in their class... But it's called Mellermaphonia, and all the new mellophone players are inducted in and given the title of a Mellermaphonian. I am one of four from this year... We are shrinking. I have to leave this land next season, for it is not my calling to be a Mellermaphonian. I will be joining the guard, but this land is not all its cracked up to be. Be warned.
I have an official alternate spot for Music City this year. What can I expect this summer???

It's hard for me to butt into this, especially because I don't know your parents. I'd try to maturely and calmly explain to them why you want to march, maybe show them what it's all about. Drum corps makes some really awesome people. It teaches you to work with others. It shows you that hard work and perserveriance can do wonders. It not only makes you a better performer, it makes you a better person.

you should put an adapter on your horn so that you can use an actual french horn mouth piece. its so much easier to play!
Yea but it's harder to hit the pitches consistently and its not as loud or bold as a mello mouthpiece.
