Those ladies are the vocal power of the band Lucius. Look at any of their vids on UA-cam. You'll be blown away. (Especially powerful is them at the Newport Folk Festival, singing "Dusty Trails" with Brandi Carlile... who they're now-or soon to be- touring with.)
@@NorseForse One of the best ever .. Jess and Holly!! am Gerry fr the Phils..First time i saw and heard them singing with my Idol RW Tour..TWO SUN IN THE SUNSET!
We had an apartment in the city Me and Loretta liked living there Well, it'd been years since the kids had grown A life of their own, left us alone John and Linda live in Omaha And Joe is somewhere on the road We lost Davy in the Korean war And I still don't know what for, don't matter anymore You know that old trees just grow stronger And old rivers grow wilder every day Old people just grow lonesome Waiting for someone to say, "Hello in there, hello" Me and Loretta, we don't talk much more She sits and stares through the back door screen And all the news just repeats itself Like some forgotten dream that we've both seen Someday I'll go and call up Rudy We worked together at the factory What could I say if he asks "What's new?" "Nothing, what's with you? Nothing much to do" You know that old trees just grow stronger And old rivers grow wilder every day Old people just grow lonesome Waiting for someone to say, "Hello in there, hello" So if you're walking down the street sometime And spot some hollow ancient eyes Please don't just pass 'em by and stare As if you didn't care, say, "Hello in there, hello"
Born in 65 I grew up on the music of Pink Floyd. Between then & now I fell in love with the music of John Prine. And these days I'm a huge fan of the music of Lucius. Great music is always happening. So long as my ears still work I will continue to take in as much as I'm able. This is pretty wonderful.
I think many of us have seen the other videos that were released by Roger during quarantine, but I just came across this one. What a beautiful, beautiful tribute by Roger and Lucius.
So if you're walkin' down the street sometime, And spot some hollow, ancient eyes, Please don't just pass 'em by and stare, As if you didn't care, Say... hello in there... Nicely done, Roger and Lucius... I miss him, too! Damn covid...
People criticise the so-called ‘deterioration’ in Roger’s vocals but I think the fragility that has developed in his voice has added a new dimension to many of his songs. I just love them more every time I listen. Thank you roger🙏
What a great version and tribute to a great story teller..awesome..rip John Prine..The man who's music brightened many a campfire and kitchen with a guitar passed around friends and family.
A beautiful tribute to one of our Nations greatest song writers, entertainers, Veterans, and Human beings. “The best friend I never met” someone called John Prine on another Video . I think that is a good describes John. A working class hero as well. He is smoking a Cigarette Nine miles long now, jamming with the other greats we have lost. Hang tight my friends here. Stop hating and start loving , it’s the chance we have to take for our kids. “Hello in there , hello“ “Oh fuck , I miss him”
I think i fall more in love with Lucius every time I listen to them. Love hearing them singing with Roger Waters. The three of them together sound like they have been doing this forever.
They are wonderful. If things ever get back to normal make it a point to see them live if you haven't already. They are superb musicians & fantastic performers. I've seen them 17 times & very much looking forward to seeing them again, hopefully, many more times over.
@@johnstinchcomb8156 I plan on seeing them live if we are ever able to go to concerts again. I have seen them once when they were touring with Roger Waters. They were pretty amazing on stage singing The Great Gig in the Sky.
August 3, 2020 Hello In There.....an amazing song reminding me of memories from the Newport Folk Festival, I will always miss the music from the Newport Folk Festival....Hello in there...people grow lonesome hello in there.
This song is a lot like Pink Floyd songs. They tell Johns story and Roger story. Very similar styles around the same time but just happens to be in different parts of the world. Only a few people can dig deep into the soul like John and Roger do. They sing about actual feelings and experiences. They could have been brothers.
I genuinely look forward to these Lockdown songs by Waters and the wonderful musicians that recorded and toured with him recently. Digging up as much Prine as I can find
Thank you, Roger, and those two sweet angels. Hearing this song all those years ago it was the last lines that really cemented it for me, a reach out for humanity. John Prine..In Peace
I just love these videos of you Roger, Lucius and all the other fantastic musicians are doing for us. I saw John Prine at Womadelaid in Australia. Wish you had been there too. Thanks to all of you for what you do for us.
Originally, I did not want anybody to cover this song, it was so deeply associated with John Prine's way of singing. But this version is damn good as well!
Thanks. Made me feel like a cherub cradled by the sweet sound of Valkyries... with a retired Odin on the guitar... who hung up his harp in lieu of the Axe.
tout simplement merci. et je souhaite de tout cœur que ces grands artistes de la musique soient toujours dans le cœurs de nos enfants et petits enfants. Gery
Roger ,you are and has always been a good lad. Thanks. And R.I.P. John . This is the first song I ever learned after improvising blues and free jazz for over 50 (fifty) years on a 6120 :)))
Those women have the most beautiful voices. I melt ever time they sing.
and they are so charming that i hold my breath every time they sing a tune, i don't even blink seeing how they emote when singing..
