- This 5 speed Swap took me about 4 weekends to complete, the summer heat made things take a little longer, lots of breaks. But the end result is very much worth it, the drive is so much fun now. Next performance steps will include Ls Vtec Cylinder Head and a custom Turbo setup, stayed tuned and thanks for watching.

Man I seriously felt like I was there with those camera angles 😳 the videos are getting better and better
Thanks Collin 👍
Just wanted to say thank you 🙏🏻 for the video I got the whole swap done and went to start it and wouldn’t start I scoward UA-cam for ideas and even replaced my starter but ur grounding the grey wire (neutral safety switch) fixed it no problem and I got to drive my car home from my buddys so thank you again
Cool 👍
Incredible content, and incredibly inspiring, no shit now have the confidence to do my swap!
You have NO idea how long I've been trying to see the difference between the auto mounts and manual mounts...... thank the lord above
Cool ! Hope it helped.
Hey Donny , i did the swap, thanks for showing where to find and ground the grey wire , it started right up no problems, just need a quick brush up on how to get the reverse lights to work , if you can show the process of how you got them to work , thanks for the great info
This was very impressive, outstanding work!
Thanks for sharing Aaron!
Like the build.
Just wanted to say, there is a factory riser for the manuals that the shifter box bolts to. About an inch tall, helps with cable angle. I have 2 5spd one's. lowered blk one and lifted white one. And after watching ur video. Made me think maybe a manual swap for my sonic blue auto. Keep up the content
👍, I couldn't get my self to spend 140 on the oem riser, so .. . There's a 24 dollar steel jeep transmission pan under there, its solid and I'm 100% happy with. Lol. I left alot of details out of the video, if enough people ask, I would happily go through everything not covered, thanks for sharing!
@@Donnythelatemodeltech so you bolted the shifter without riser or made something work?
@@Romemontana used a jeep transmission oil pan. Perfect height
@@Donnythelatemodeltech def would love pics/ details on that.
Where do you find the riser piece for the shifter? Where do they sell them for $140?
Great video! Very entertaining! Your face during all the 🔥 burn outs 🔥 @ the end is priceless 🤣🤣🤣
Finally you dropped a new video and an awesome one!!!
Thank brother. It's just to hot 🔥 🥵.
eBay xtd stage 2 good reviews and drift events 🤔 I like 😁👍
Thanks for voting
Wow..Nice video
I like it very much
Greetings, I wish you more success🇮🇩
Thanks much
🏎💥………💨 Looks like fun to drive now!
Thank you for the video! Love your car and love the channel, I'm about to do this myself so well see how that goes lol.
Good luck!
Dang! Awesome video bro! Need VTEC to kick in yo! 😁 it did peeled second gear though.👍
Thanks, up next Ls VTec!
@@Donnythelatemodeltech awesome! To complete the swap is turbo it.
What's going on Man! Glad to have you back!
Thanks, it's tough recording in the summer ☀️ 😮💨.. soo so hot.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech I know! 🥵
Great video was thinking of doing this to mine as well.
Go for it! It's a completely different honda now
Nice Intro!🎉
Excelente trabajo, pero como conectas la luz de reversa? Lo explicas muy poco
did the swap thanks for neutral switch bypass i did this on 97 how to keep check engine light off due to auto sensors i have complete obd2b dash harness and ecu pluse engine harness but really dont want to swap the harness
Manual ecu, no check engine light.
TURBO IN THE NEAR FUTURE
Yes sir
@@Donnythelatemodeltech Looking forward to that video.
Hey man if you gonna sell the shifter and cables lmk I’m interested.
I purchased the first piece of the puzzle for mine today. Found a mint shifter, boot, handle, and plastic/carpet trim to try and make it look as OE as possible. Still debating if I should skip the b20 5 speed in favor of a b18 trans for less weight since it was already a 2WD car.
Maybe a good idea, she's a little heavy.
@@Donnythelatemodeltechgetting closer to pulling the trigger and getting started with the swap. I have a transmission and ecu lined up to complete the pile of transmission parts. I know you have to condense the video down some for entertainment purposes. On the transmission wiring was it really nearly plug and play? I’m debating on trying to secure 5 speed harness for transmission connections but I also don’t want to severely over complicate things trying to splice auto to manual harnesses. How straight forward is the adjustments to the auto harness?
@Captain Texas the wiring is pretty simple. In the video I showed 98% of the wiring. The only thing not in the video is bypassing a relay under the dash for the reverse. Everthing else In the video will get you going.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech so it really is that simple almost plug and play. Wow that’s bananas.
Got my 2000 5 speed no racing only want to put good stray pipe good clutch don't know clutch are good to put it first Honda 😂 thank good jod
Great information my man. Jst out of curiosity, what gauge wire was used to extend the starter trigger wire?
Hey Donny, first off, good job on the swap. Just had a few questions for you. I have a 2000 CRV that I completed the swap on with the manual engine harness and ECU but still the auto/cabin harness. Everything seems to be powering up fine but I get no crank because obviously the neutral safety switch. Is there a way I can feed power to the switch off the interior harness for the ECU or bypass? Or would you suggest just going back to the auto engine harness and grounding the gray wire? Thanks
I know you've probably fixed it by now but you're going to just want to cross the neutral safety switch wires. That way the car thinks it's always in neutral. Just remember to never start in gear and you'll be fine.
Also how did you mout the shifter ? To what did you mount it to?
Did you use all the automatic harnesses ? How were you able to get by the neutral safety switches ? What did you need to do wiring, ecu wise to get it running please any information would help
Goot jod amigo got crv 200 ex 4x4 5 speed need put new clutch eant to buy all kit clutch my first car can please let me now whatt the best clutch my original motor want sonthing work like 3 year more asking to much put it to mych snow to want any good clutch good price any Link any ine ebay or Amazon can buy it thank you sorry asking s much manual car
What would you say the overall cost of this swap was?
Can we do that in 2006 model?
Hey man, awesome video thank you so much!
Did you get it running without swapping the ecu & wiring harness? Im getting ready to start converting my 2001 cr-v to manual, have a wrecked donor car here for parts just trying to work out if I am going to have to take the dash out.
Cheers
It will run on the auto ecu and harness. Recommend to take the manual wiring , throttle body and ecu…. The idle is a little low with the ac on … has some thing to do with load sensing , increasing idle with ac and power steering . I’m sure it was a harness thing, but never really figured it out because I swap in a p28 and started tuning and have idle controls . I did run and manual ecu and throttle body trying to figure it out- it’s something in the harness.
Hello :) love the content ❤ just wondering how much this costed roughly. I wanna do the same to my CRV
I spent around 1800$ maybe
what wire did you connect/condemn to bypass the auto trans, to use the manual trans? thanks man….
I just did this swap but my issue now is that it won't start and the key stays stuck in the switch, how do I override the neutral safety switch?
should of put linka to parts to help out.🤷🏽♂️ but what trans you use and where you get shifter from again?
Used parts www.ebay.com www.upullupay.com / oem 5 speed crv transmission / oem shifter was bought on eBay. Tried my best in the video bro. 🤷♂️
I agree on the rear tranny mount. It's a bitch to remove that's for sure. Also for the Ktuned shifter, is it specifically for the crv or from another model?
Also love the Killswitch Engage shirt that you are wearing!
The shifter is universal- but sold as a model specific kit because of the bracket, hope that makes sense.
Could you link all the parts?
do you have the part numbers for the axle seals??
Can someone get me a link for the reservoir I don’t know anything about cars but I wanna learn and it looks fun please help me out !
How much was it to get everything?
How much more or less to do the conversion?
Did you ever figure out the shifter?
I gave up on it
Did you have to find a donor car ? or were you able to get all the parts online?
Online
When is the rear disc conversion
Had no idea that was a thing, I'll look into it if it's cheap .
What about plug on clutch pedal
Don’t need it with auto wiring and ecu
Is a manual swap doable on a Gen 3 CRV?
what saw is that?
Whatt clutch are you used
Sick bro wish i had the down time for the v but its y only car right now how long you think this would take
This took me 3 weekends. I'm filming and trying to not spend all day in the garage also. If you have everthing.. you can do it in a weekend diffently.
Thats wassup man got another question what any b18 or b20 transmission fit or it well have to be the crv one
@@b20banthony909 you can you any bseries trans, it just comes down to the shifter. Most b series are not cable.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech for sure bro thank you sir
So , is the heat duct in the dash 100% necessary? Being held back by the smallest things that I can't seem to find.
Not for me, I don't daily this car at all, and I'm located in south texas... its not really a necessity at all.
7:49 key issue
Morning how can i get a gear box b20b for my 1998 honda crv
Ebay
ive watched this video fucken 30 times or more i just got 98% of the parts for my swap and i cannot wait, do you have to swap the throttle/brake assembly or can you just swap the brake pedal and done deal? the only difference i see is literally the pedal pad?
You probably could get away with just cutting for original one. Maybe.
Oh, yeah, I didn't show you how I mounted the shifter . I use a jeep oil pan mounted under the carpet. The height is perfect. Here's the link for the pan. amzn.to/3TJrUQO and yes , I'm not joking.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech lmao I was lucky and have the oem box to weld in, what did you have to do for the reverse lights? I have seen others say it doesn’t work and speed sensor should plug in without any issue correct. I really don’t want to do a manual harness swap that’ll be impossible to find
@@Michal_S0L I haven't done the reverse lights yet. You going to need to rewire it under the dash. It's pretty simple looking at the wiring diagram.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech yeah i found the wire is green/black behind the foot rest but above the hood release in a grey connector, that wires to the yellow and switched power to the red wire I'm guessing. would i be fine with an auto ecu? i have a manual one but idk if its necessary i dont plan on finding an impossible to find manual harness
do you have a parts list
tried to cover the parts in the video
4wd it’s exactly the same few extra bolts yes?
What do you mean?
For some reason I thought your trans was 2wd watched the Video 3 more times and it’s not lol what do you do with the coolant lines that go to the automatic trans haven’t seen anywhere what to do with them
What shifter is the one that didn’t work?
Jackspiana , it was just the supplied trans bracket that didn't work
Hey great video. Quick question did you have to swap ur ecu to a manual one.
You don't need to to make it run, but you will have a check engine light. The auto ecu will be looking for the auto trans.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech So you’re saying you can drive it with the auto ECU.
Yes, you CAN drive it with the auto ecu.
@@Donnythelatemodeltech okay thanks for the help
What type gearbox do u use
crv manual box
Where did you get the shifter box?
What do you mean shifter box?
U put the shifter on the floor
New ecu?
Using the manual ecu. I have been playing with a socketed p28 . Lol
Is it still awd?
If not what trans did you use? I have a awd ex but want to do a manual fwd swap so i can just switch out a b18 for boost
It's the awd trans. I don't have the awd yet. You can use this trans without a driveshaft. So, it's currently fwd .
Hi, mine still have D4 sparkling, but also is in N, cant start up
Ok.
how to give your car a sex change
Im alittle confused with the neutral safety switch? Is it jus a quick way? Like is that the only way to do it? Could i just turn it off in the ecu so it doesnt read it? Or does a manual ecu/car use a neutral safety switch?
I am wondering the same thing. I completed the auto to 5 spd swap in my 2000 CRV. Install the manual engine harness and ECU along with it but can't figure out where to get the feed for the neutral safety switch at the pedal. This has me thinking that I should swap back to the auto engine harness and just ground the gray wire to bypass the way it's done here.
