শারমিন সুলতানা সুমির জন্ম খুলনায়। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আন্তর্জাতিক সম্পর্ক বিভাগ থেকে পড়াশোনা সম্পন্ন করেন।২০০২ সালে চিরকুট ব্যান্ড গঠন করেন সুমি । চিরকুট ব্যান্ডের প্রধান ভোকালিস্টের পাশাপাশি দলের অধিকাংশ গান সুমির লেখা এবং সুরারোপ করা। এছাড়া তিনি অন্যান্য শিল্পীদের জন্যও তিনি গান লেখেন, গান করেন, সুর করেন। টেলিভিশন, আয়নাবাজি চলচ্চিত্রে প্লেব্যাক গায়িকা হিসেবে সুমি বেশ আলোড়ন সৃষ্টি করেছেন...
