We're completely spoiled now having access to the Strymon BigSky MX, Eventide H90, and Meris MercuryX. 3 top tier reverbs. The Walrus Audio Sloer is also pretty awesome.
Yeah! But the H90 has a serious problem with price positioning nowadays, imho. It arrived late to the party and at its price range there are many other options to consider
@@2tubeguitar Well, it is pricey, but so is the BigSky MX, and the Eventide unit is a multi effects unit that does much more than just reverbs, and Eventide is a legendary company with the brand and history to back up those kind of prices.
Definitely a great feature. For people who don't want the insane cool stuff here can look at Ocean's 12 for $250, also can do two Stereos in series or parallel. Probably doesn't sound as good though.
"greatest reverb of all time" is subjective obviously.. I love this and want it and probably get it sometime, however it's still not going to be able to do things others can do like the modular world of meris mercury x etc.. But it's always cool to have more options. No such thing as too much for me!
Hi there, thanks for your interest! So - not to get into the weeds with technical terms, but I’m assuming you’re thinking of a synth with a mono output, rather than one that is monophonic in the sense of only producing one note/voice at a time. Either way, the short answer is yes. The effects on the BigSky can work in stereo even if the incoming signal is mono. I hope this helps - feel free to contact me directly with any further questions, and thanks again! Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com

Hey Sweetwater, can we get more artists and less guitarists for pedal demos? Less blues, 70’s rock riffs, etc and more new creative ways to use classic & modern sounding pedals would be greatly appreciated! So many pedals sound like, “Just another”, because the guitarist demoing is playing “just another,” blues or rock lick. I love Mitch and how he’s one of the only people to go into such full detail on gear parameters. I almost never have to read the manual if Mitch has a video on it. I would love to see an artist come in after and demonstrate the pedal being used to its absolute limits and played how I’d never think of using it. Bring in Yvette Young! With more gear than ever available and their price tags soaring we, your customers, need better & creative representation of gear to help us make more economically informed decisions. Some of us need to buy gear sparingly and sometimes don’t have access locally to try before we buy so these demos are everything. Sweetwater is an absolute in the music world and I’m finding myself watching less and less of your pedal/gear videos because other channels are meeting those needs. I know there are other younger players who feel this way too so we’d be appreciative if you listened. Love you all and my Sweetwater sales rep, thanks for all you’ve done for the guitar community!
Love Mitch, he’s been doing this for a while. But the new players are looking for reviews from people that play more like what people are playing today. Let’s get some young blood that can play the ambient stuff like it should be and can really show off what this pedal can do!
No it's not lol. It's like 1/2 inch wider and maybe same inch bigger the other way, and only $200 or so more than normal bigsky... Take into consideration 2 reverbs at once, also can do reverb IR's, that's basically 3 different reverbs, also new algorithms, updated algorithms, and it basically has the new strymon cloudburst in it and more. Totally worth the cost! Go buy a big sky, and a cloudburst and a reverb IR unit, and let me know how much that costs you in the end. HINT: way more than this pedal ;)
@@BrockDavisson Pretty sure it's the same size as the old one. Honestly I don't think it's big enough! Why not just make in the size of an entire pedal board?! Keep sipping that Strymon Kool-aid 🤣
@@ChristopowaaaIMO, a “review” is less important for a pedal than it is for a guitar, as you can decide for yourself how it sounds and how it’s laid out. For a guitar, it’s more important to hear the demo person’s honest feedback as to the feel and fit and finish.
It’s a demo. He works for a music gear retailer. If you watch this expecting ANYTHING other than it being advertising? That’s on you. Because this is about as transparent as it gets.
Ehh. I love my big sky. I was very excited about this until I saw what it was. So basically you can stack the a and b settings. I was already doing that with my big sky and an afterneath. Anybody can do it with any reverb. As cool as it sounds, it’s not that big of a deal. Then you have the weird left right routing. Idk anyone that would need a slap back to the left and a hall to the right but you do you. Then you have the missing C foot switch replaced with infinite, the big sky used infinite on every single foot switch if you just held it down. So we lost a space for a “feature” we already had. Then there’s the impulse response import. Honestly if you’re importing IRs to a big sky what’s the point? $680? I don’t think so

See a new Iridium V2
2 stereo reverbs in series makes this a winner

I am 10000% sure that the biggest upgrade is the price
I like that you can add convolution reverbs to it
Mitch you did a great job - kudos!!
18:22 to 18:40 made me have to put on the song Catch Without Arms (from album of same name) by Dredg.
I was wondering if Strymon was going to make an update to the Bigsky series, the IR mode is worth this alone!
Excelente pedal

Does it do that infinite 80s thing the Flint does, because that is amazing.
The best reverb ever made!
Nah buddy.. Meris Mercury X is the new king..
It’s one of the best but it can have a little bit of that digital glare that can be undesirable. Still great though

Nice demo. If you have a monophonic synth, can you use this to get a stereo effect? Thanks.

Sounds good overall, i just find it odd after all these years Strymon still can't get their spring reverb to sound like real spring reverb
For the cost a better screen should have been included. It’s $800 and modelers have color screens for less.
Expensive
source audio way better
Is it made of panda for £700? in my opinion these effects are becoming too over the top they cloud the beautiful natural tone of a Les Paul
