Speaking of the comment @13:16. I have repaired my timeline two times in 7 years. The first time I sent to Strymon, the second I did myself with a $5 part from Strymon. If you can solder, they can be repaired. Long term, who knows!
Ummmm, the Compadre rawks! There is nothing meh about it unless you just aren’t into compressors. And $679 for effectively 2 BigSky’s in one, or to add the Ensemble effect from the $279 Cloudburst to the BigSky, is not a bad price.
"No self respecting Christian man on a Sunday morning will show up with a Big Sky MX and the old school Timeline.... That's a heart issue.". Hahahahaha... That made me literally LOL
I just got my Strymon Mx for 611$ out the door. This unit is adding all their new reverb tech they’ve developed in the last 10 years in one package along with their classics. Well worth it. Also expandable with reverb irs something’s I’m not 100% happy with but did you not want them to upgrade there units?
The fact that it took you guys 18 minutes to mention the Cloudburst is kinda telling, LOL. Strymon was updating the mid-sized pedals (like ElCap and BlueSky), and releasing tiny pedals (like Cloudburst and Brig). Clearly, none of that moved the needle for you guys, LOL.
I feel like this update needed to happen about 5 years ago - shortly after the Boss RV500 came out offering all these features. Does this updated version offer enough in 2024? Maybe something to compete with the Source Audio Collider would have been cool - a smaller selection of reverbs + delays in a single unit this size. I don't own a big sky, but if I did I don't think I'd see any reason to upgrade at the new higher price.
LOL, I just played a Mooer preamp x2 last night live, getting a MX and or Timeline MX is kinda like getting a Lambo, yeah it would be cool but I can manage with a Honda
The cloudburst was such a disappointment. The iridium not being stereo without buying a different type of cable was such a bad decision. Same with the cloudburst. ALSO the new big sky is WAY overpriced. Thats a $400 pedal max.
This, tonetalk, and the fryette channel are my favorite guitar nerd podcasts by a long shot. I personally didnt jive with the timeline, but love the flint.
They have no business being that expensive. Other units get there just asgood.Especially with the axe fx, it gets there and more. And helix does the algorithms just as good as strymon imo

Very interesting

Not a good price either lol
The release of the BigskyMX allowed me to snag a Big Sky Midnight Edition for $300-400 less than they had been going for
Grab it for $350?

I think it depends how successful the big sky MX is

Meh!
@@thesoozeTJ Pretty much, LOL!!!

Rackmount Strymon device with Mobius, Timeline, Sky, ElCap, Iridium, the works😂
That would cost $2400
I wouldnt buy it either…dope idea though…
The timeline is still amazing. Agree re their drives tho.
I think the best new feature is the reverb IRs

How do u guys tolerate how noisy the time line and big sky are?

The flint rules so much!
@@thesoozeTJ agreed!
