Blasto was voiced by the absolute legend Phil Hartmann, who was actually cast as Zapp Brannigan. Sadly Hartmann was killed before Futurama began production, and Billy West had to step in.
@Comrade Marlow still haven't played it. I need to set up my fatty PS3 that has emulation. Got a bunch of games on the backlog that need to get played. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Comic Jumper is such an underrated game. As you say in the video, the gameplay wasn't spectacular but the writing was genuinely hilarious, and the art direction was awesome. I imagine it would be something of a cult classic if it wasn't an XBLA exclusive.
No mention of one of the most bizarre Superheroes in existence, Earthworm Jim? A game with a character named Queen Slugforabutt, you'd think that'd easily make top 10.
I remember sitting through Comic Jumper, as completing the game granted you a giant Captain Smiley head accessory for your avatar. Pretty sure he's still wearing it all these years later
lol there are so many mascot games, "Avoid the Noid", "Spot goes to Hollywood", " Chex Quest", just to name a few. When I was a kid I rented Boogerman for the SNES, in the back of the instruction book they have a photo of a password screen and if you put that into the password screen it takes you to the end of the game, lol
Blasto was one of my favorite games back in the day. Was like eight--absolutely loved it. I'm pretty sure that was Phil Hartman doing the voice of Blasto Edit: I see now others have mentioned this, as well
Okay, I was kinda shocked to see Captain Smiley on the thumbnail, because I've only ever known him as the final boss of Path of the Warrior. No, really, he is literally the final boss. You finish the game by punching him off the top of a skyscraper. "Live long enough to see yourself become the villain", indeed.
The Monty Mole games were released as a sort of comedic dig at the events of the then miner's strike that was played out on the news every night. Much like the oft mentioned in TJ videos gaming industry crash of 1983 though, events are far more dramatic in the rear view mirror than they ever were at the time.
I have fond memories of “Auf Wiedersehen Monty” on the C64! I also remember watching “SuperGran” on Sky Channel Saturday morning shows! The nostalgia is just too much some times!
Thank you triple jump, I found your UA-cam channel about a month or two ago, and you provide me with endless entertainment every single day because I just throw on a mix of your videos and everyone is a banger. Keep doing what you're doing 🤘 peace and love from the States
Loved Comic Jumper! Shame twisted pixel moved towards motion control games. Felt like they were on a path of growth, now I only ever hear of then when I think 'wow, I loves the Maw, Comic Jumper, and Splosion man... what else have they done since'?
How about James Pond the underwater agent or robocop (i know they are the same thing, i only played robocod and the aquatic Olympics game on the megadrive) also i had Supergran on the amstrad 464
I believe at one point in Superhero League of Hoboken a villain tries to kill the heroes with a bomb concealed in a pizza box, at which point Mademoiselle Pepperoni's power comes into play.
Wait... What about Earthworm Jim?? Toxie from Toxic Crusaders? The Ooze? The dude from Chex Quest? Freakazoid? Minon from Domino Rally? That weird frikkin dude from that weird adventure game where he morphs into animals and objects which ReRez did a video about? I think it's Metamorphic man or something
I remember Boogerman on the Sega Genesis....I never had it but I remember laughing about it.. flicking booger projectiles at the baddies.... Hilarious and Juvenile.... I would have been embarrassed for my wife, at the time, seeing me play that with our toddler 😜
Captain Novolin is actually super rare. One of the rarest games on the SNES, in fact. It's not worth it, unless you're a super avid SNES collector, but the big price tag is there for a reason.
There's a game for Wii called Domino Rally, also known as Go! Go! Minon in Japan and Minon: Everyday Hero in Europe. (Yeah, the US name is very generic.) In it, you play as Minon, a superhero who helps people by toppling stuff. The game kind of reminds me of Katamari.
I find it hilarious that Captain Diabetes in South Park the Fractured but Whole declares himself the world's strongest diabetic superhero and thanks to Captain Novalin, he's right.
Because we can! Stand back Superman, Ice Man, Spiderman Batman and Robin too Don't wanna cause a ruckus, but B.A. Baracus Have I got a match for you! I would've picked Chex Quest over Super Gran, but not my list. ;) I will check out Super Gran now though, looks interesting. I know Chex Quest was a game based on the cereal, but I would think that whoever the main character was would be kind of like Doom Guy, who I'd consider a super-hero, of sorts.
Ugh... A pharmaceutical based superhero... Don't tell kids not to eat a bunch of sugary garbage, just prepare them for their diabetic future and make them pay for it at the same time.
Fire the writer of this one. 5 titulars in 13 mins? This reeks of what culture writers. So i guess ill try another vid in a few months. I cant stand the over use of that word. Try a word of the day calendar, it might strengthen your vocabulary.

I own a copy of it, when I found out Phil voiced it, I picked up a copy of it right away.
I only saw this after I made my own comment and stuff, but yeah, all of this.
It was legitimately a fun game, too. Granted, I was a child, but yeah
@Comrade Marlow still haven't played it. I need to set up my fatty PS3 that has emulation. Got a bunch of games on the backlog that need to get played. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Rip Phil Hartmann... Murdered by his wife if I'm not mistaken
Never heard of Captain Smiley

Also Brad theme song haha
wait i minuet, that meat monster boss was seen in splosion man no wonder the art style is similar.
No mention of one of the most bizarre Superheroes in existence, Earthworm Jim? A game with a character named Queen Slugforabutt, you'd think that'd easily make top 10.
Yeah, but we all know Earthworm Jim. The list was looking for more obscure, less known superheroes.
It isn't a top 10 list, just a list of 10. They may have another video.
@@ajaxlewis7664 I thought the same but the games on here are pretty good let’s hope he just makes another 10 games video with earthworm Jim in that

i agree, its probably my favorite super hero ever
@@ellnats i dont agree
@@mattalan6618 you're free to do so, but i said MY favorite hero

Edit: I see now others have mentioned this, as well
Comic jumper is my favorite on this list it just seems to exceptionally creative to fall into obscurity it deserved better
I remember Boogerman: A Pick And Flick Adventure. I played it a lot as a kid, it was one of those fun gross games my mom didn't like.
Twisted Pixel and Double Fine, 2 developers I could never get enough of. I see a game by them and I buy it.

Capt. Smiley should have a *different* star merged into him - *Ristar!* They'd both share each other's powers simultaniously...
I would be disappointed if Pepsiman wasn't here :)
Loved Comic Jumper! Shame twisted pixel moved towards motion control games. Felt like they were on a path of growth, now I only ever hear of then when I think 'wow, I loves the Maw, Comic Jumper, and Splosion man... what else have they done since'?
"Set in post apocalyptic New Jersey".....so you mean New Jersey literally any day of the year?
Blasto's suit reminds me of Freakazoid and The Icredibles, but at the end of the days he looks more like a cartoony Flash Gordon than a superhero IMHO
Speaking of Odd Superheroes....I wish they would make an UnderDog and a Mighty Mouse Video Game....those would be Awesome
'92's NES Nightshade.
He would battle Sutek as you travel the city doing good deeds.
It was a point-and-click game. Quite good.
So fun! Thanks for this!
Boogerman was awesome
Brad... Definitely a Super Villain Name!!
Captain Smiley did make an appearance as a cameo boss in Path of the Warrior for the VR.
Boogerman is such a 90s concept. What was it about the 90s and gross stuff?
How about James Pond the underwater agent or robocop (i know they are the same thing, i only played robocod and the aquatic Olympics game on the megadrive) also i had Supergran on the amstrad 464
I believe at one point in Superhero League of Hoboken a villain tries to kill the heroes with a bomb concealed in a pizza box, at which point Mademoiselle Pepperoni's power comes into play.
Not the villain, but there's several boxes like that lol. I've played this game COUNTLESS times. And I still own it.
Boogerman was so fun.
Hobo-ken. Nicely done 👍
I finally beat Comic Jumper last year. That was awesome. The devs need to make some more

I was born in Hoboken NJ! So was Frank Sinatra!!
Blasto sounds like game strong bad would play on his vacation.
sound more like a Pokemon name
About supermole. Perhaps the power granting machine was experimental and they only used supermole as a labrat
I want to see Ben eat spicy foods now!!
Can't wait for the Pepsi-Gram crossover
no mention of the best part of Blasto, Phil Hartman’s voice acting is a big miss
Apparently matt groening created zapp brannigan for phil hartman to play, but sadly tragedy happened,so matt kept the character as a tribute to him
A fun one!
Rainbow man looks awsome I want it now 😭
Hell ye buggerman I remember playing this when I was around 5 yrs old, and i always thought to myself what the hell was the creator on to make this
Not a strange hero but a very obscure one for me is Hyperman.
Comic Jumper is a cool game.
I knew boogerman was going to end up on this list
Also the fact that Blasto was Phil Hartman's last role before his murder 😢
Blasto was voiced by Phil Hartman, so the game was 10/10
"There's always Hoboken."
"Yeah, but that's Hoboken...!"
Blasto, i thought its a Mr Incredible video game
Bought it on fly market, the cover said "the amazing mr incredible"
